Do you thickly paint on the gloss medium at some of the higher edges of the collage to even the surface out? I've started making collages and just today bought gloss medium and am using it as my glut. Just wondered bout the "evening out" of the final surface. I don't use an exacto knife, i just layer my collage paintings on top of the original painting.
I love that you can layer gloss mediums to create a unique or even surface! If I’m painting medium over the top layer to create a clean, resin-like finish, I like to apply my medium using a palette knife, or even use pouring medium and pour it over the painting to create as even a surface as possible.
