Again watched this movie. These movies ' angoor ' ,' golmaal ' - the original one, ' Chhoti si Baat ' , ' ' khatta meetha ' the original one, 'baaton baaton mein ' are like oases of fresh water 🌊 one returns to time and again. These are timeless classics. Clean , intelligent, full of humour, no vulgarity, or double meaning dialogues . I watch them whenever I feel low . May God make India and the world a better place. 🙏🚩

Probably the best adaptation of Shakespeare's comedy of errors. No one could have done it better than Sanjeev kumar. Perfection personified.
No Sir, this script is exactly the same as the legendary Uttam Kumar- Bhanu Bandopadhay starrer iconic Bengali movie BHRANTI BILASH. Would have been better if Gulzar saab also credited the maker of Bhranti Bilash apart from crediting Shakespeare.

All his life he was single. He had proposed to hema malini. But alas, hema chose a married,2 baccho ka baap dharmender instead of a single unmarried guy who loves her wholeheartedly. Later an actress Sulakshana Pandit who worked with him as heroine in few movies started liking him and proposed for marriage, but both of them remained unmarried. He refused to marry her as he knew he will not survive long, as a result of which Sulakshana vowed to never marry anyone and still she is single.

No one but Gulzar saab could have achieved this - blending a 400 year old classic by Shakespeare into a Indian setting. Superb casting n special mention for Ms Chatterjee. This is a masterpiece.

We have Do Dooni Chaar (1968 - Kishore Da & Asit Sen) and Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan (1998 - BigB & Govinda) besides this with the same story & plot. But Gulzar Saheb's treatment of the subject and presentation makes this movie stands out in the lot. This one is the best of three. You can watch it as many times as you want, you will still find it as fresh & entertaining, as ever.

I was just scrolling when this movie camp up in suggestions. I never thought this masterpiece would be so fantastic and excellent. The story writer is the main force behind this. By nature I m very much time saving person and don't try to waste even a single minute but for this film , I have no regrets for spending my 2 hours of life

Apart from one of the best comedy movie of all time, with all supernatural acting by all the actors.. The Song of Deven Verma at 1.21 onwards is hilarious as per situation. Fantastic movie.

Slapstick comedy is one genre of comedy. Falling off as one slips over banana peels comes under that genre. The great Charlie Chaplin had his entire comedy based on the same genre. Even cartoons like Tom and Jerry.
