It doesn't change the fact that Bane had so much trouble in tournaments. Fast, agile players were so tough. Bane was my main in that game. Him vs Grundy or Doomsday were the most fun matches.
Bane was crazy fun in both Injustice games. His move-set was rather limited compared to other characters, sure, but watching your opponents health bar just disappear was SOOO satisfying. I sincerely hope he comes back for Injustice 3.
As a Bane main he was a very mind game heavy character. If you got your opponent scared of your grapples even I'm debuff they would hesitate to attack. While the low damage sucked meter burning your grapple was a great way to eat debuff time too. Would actually consistently get rage mail especially from Long Range players about how I was spamming or just meter burned to absorb everything. Was funny knowing they knew nothing of Bane's power and getting called a spammer by a full screen Deathstroke player made my day. One last trait Bane's venom had was it reduced the damage of emeny attacks too. Lvl 3 able to reduce all attacks by nearly 20%. At times would turn on venom in the middle of combos just to see the damage be lowered. And if you think 50% damage was good at lvl 3 venom with his Jump Down 3, Back 2 into 3 launcher if you did Super you could take off 72% off one combo. Seeing this vid brought back a ton of nostalgia and made me wish Injustice 2 Bane was half as good as the original. Will always treasure my time flooring spammer's and saying with Bane 'You know nothing of strength.'
I love how in character that is. Bane is a massive powerhouse, but he's also a mental master. He was the first villain to figure out Batman's identity, and came up with a plan to perfectly break, mentally and physically, the most determined man alive.
I've never played Injustice, but if they put Killer Croc in the third game I'd be interested, or Doomsday I do know he was in the first game but I never played it. also I heard he was broken in it.
Bane was the hypest character ever in a normal match 30% life lead would be a great advantage but vs bane it was like nothing people would do 700 damage combo with venom 2 it was crazy
I never cared about Banes busted damage since he had 0 zoning tools in a game that favoured zoning hard especially in injustice 2 so when he catches u he really deserved breaking ur back lol
This is a pretty balanced trait though. It's risk reward and it fits how Bane normally fights. He uses the venom toxin so much that he pretty much can't go without. A Bane player would basically do the same thing considering the buffs you would get for using it.

Fun fact for those who dont know. Most Inj1 moves are in Inj2 locked behind either the multiverse or Lvl 10 and Lvl 20 abilities. So Bane has double punch and the alternate venom uppercut meter burn in inj2. Im not sure if it is as good but they are there
When the video said buff, I thought you meant buff as in "the character got buffed in patches". lol Either way, Injustice 1 Bane was a very nutty character, and also a very viable character as well. You usually don't see grappler characters high in the tier lists, but Inj 1 Bane is one of the few exceptions.
This week's tower of time has Klassic Skarlet skin as the top teir rewards. Hopefully this is the start of earning those premium skins or past kombat league skins. :)
Also worth noting is that his grab had quite fast recovery on whiff, so when opponent tried to jump away to avoid his grab oftentimes Bane recovered so fast that he could uppercut the opponent on their way down. This worked especially well in the corner, there was nearly no escape.
I remember when IJ 1 came out, Bane was completely low tier. By the end of the game's life, he was easily in the top ten. His Venom uppercut could be cancelled even if it whiffed and his venom lasted longer and the debuff time was reduced.
Bane is my main in both Injustice’s, and I got very high in the ranked with him, and let me tell you: Bane was so much better in the first one over the 2nd. That double punch he had in the first game was amazing and for Netherrealms to get rid of it for that awful elbow drop crippled Bane’s play style. He never was a top tier character, especially when he was against zoners, but that elbow was just so bad with its recovery. Also, I know you said most people would not go to lvl 3 venom, but I always did and the damage I got from it made it worthwhile, especially if you could get your super into a combo. His f2d into super was a guaranteed 59%, so it was easy to get the killing blow into it. You could even get 71% damage combos with it, which is absolutely insane. Sadly, it’s not nearly as good in Injustice 2, though it was nice to be able to hit it anywhere on the map. Good content man, I enjoyed this video quite well! Really explained Bane very nicely!
It's a small thing but I really appreciate that you take the effort to pin whatever you're discussing from the move list. Sure it's not some huge ordeal to do but it'd still be a small bit of tedium to go into the menu and set it up for each demonstration. Point is; he doesn't need to do it but does anyways. It's a nice touch. Devil's in the details.

To be fair, Bane was not strong until later in the game after receiving a bunch of buffs from NetherRealm. Even then, he could still be destroyed by zoners. I hope NRS learns to calm down with the projectiles/keepaway in later games
4 games later and at the most we have Spawn shooting machine guns at his feet the firing not full screen while walking forward. That's a start. But then Robocop V2. Watch inj3 have Contra crossovers and the game will be bullethell shooter. Haha

An important thing to note with bane is that while he does lose trait during round transitions and clashes, (at least in injustice 2 idr if it was the case in 1) the same was true for the debuff. If you could end the round while on debuff or at the tail end of your buff, you could skip about half of the lvl 2 debuff and all of the lvl 1 debuff.
Would love to see a "Most Downplayed/Overlooked NRS character of all time". I'm sure there are many characters that got overlooked just because there were other better characters. One I could think of is Freddy in MK9. He is too date, one of the best zoners of all time.

The thing with fighting games is that legacy skill should (in my opinion, and most likely other players' as well) be rewarded, and classic characters should have their base moves left untouched, in the sense that replacing Scorpion's spear with a normal projectile that doesn't start combos, or change what buttons you press to do said move would be a bad idea. Having to basically learn how to control a whole new character when you're playing the one you've mained for 10 years would be annoying as hell, especially if you play more than one game in a series. Imagine if Ryu lost his fireball for some reason.
It wasn't that bad. Armor break stuffs it and zoners could keep him in hitstun long enough for the meter to run out. It was fun catching scrubs with it though since they'd just think it was a normal one-hit super like everybody else they'd hold block and Grundy would just walk up and grab them. Poor use of meter, but worth it for the lulz.
I'm glad u like his Injustice 1 Super more than 2 like me. IJ1 feels more like a Bane Super wer as 2 feels like u can give it to anyone. I also prefer his Design more than 2 as well.
You should make a top 5 best characters for beginners in MK11. I haven't really seen some good informational videos about that certain topic and since your explanational videos are one of the best out there, I think it fits perfectly.

In the next game I hope that they rework banes trait so that the debuff doesn't allow the opponent to do more damage. But I've always agreed with bane not dealing any damage during this phase as he his so scary to play against with the amount of damage he can do
Level 3 venom should only be used when you wanna yolo the opponent and kill him outright or when it’s serious comeback time. Life leads don’t matter as much with bane, since it only takes a few hits and you are dead.
Doesn’t really relate to fighting games, but level 3 Venom is similar to SSJ3 for your CAC in Xenoverse 2. Pretty damn good damage, but some really shitty drawbacks
What I don't get is why on earth did they remove his back breaker in injustice 2? It's his signature move and it was cool as hell, like at least include it in the supermove or outro. All that talk in injustice 2 intros about breaking people and he can't even do it. Might as well remove superman's super strength, deadshot's guns or cyborg's arm cannon.

IMHO this distinction would have to go to Ruthless Ferra/Tor from MKX. That damage buff was stupid powerful, especially when stacked.

Imagine how much damage Bane takes with his debuff against Shazam's trait.
I took 70% once from Lobo's shotgun trait. Getting hit while debuffed is so damn heartbreaking.

hey trueunderdawg, random question, do you think Injustice 3 will be Neatherrealm’s next game? if so, when do you think it will come out? just curious because im sick of MK11 so im super eager for their next game. great vid btw. it’s insane to me how similar Injustice 1 and 2 are. i didn’t play the first one so these videos are really interesting to me because i didn’t know they borderline just copy and pasted a lot of the characters’ moves from the first one to the 2nd. hope they give the next Injustice the same treatment they gave MK11 where they changed up a lot of mechanics and character move sets. anyways, you probably won’t reply to this and that’s ok but im just desperate for any sort of info i can get about their next game... im desperately hoping they’ll stick with their traditional 2 year cycle and release it early next year but idk pls help ease my mind 😐
The thing with fighting games is that legacy skill should (in my opinion, and most likely other players' as well) be rewarded, and classic characters should have their base moves left untouched, in the sense that replacing Scorpion's spear with a normal projectile that doesn't start combos, or change what buttons you press to do said move would be a bad idea. Having to basically learn how to control a whole new character when you're playing the one you've mained for 10 years would be annoying as hell, especially if you play more than one game in a series. Imagine if Ryu lost his fireball for some reason.
My favourite character is any fighting game ever, first injustice bane was just perfect (for me)
To this day I'm still traumatized by banes eyeballs popping out from too much venom in the cartoon network batman series.
I feel like you should make vids on every injustice character and injustice 2 character like you did with mk11 characters

It wasn't that bad. Armor break stuffs it and zoners could keep him in hitstun long enough for the meter to run out. It was fun catching scrubs with it though since they'd just think it was a normal one-hit super like everybody else they'd hold block and Grundy would just walk up and grab them. Poor use of meter, but worth it for the lulz.

You should make a top 5 best characters for beginners in MK11. I haven't really seen some good informational videos about that certain topic and since your explanational videos are one of the best out there, I think it fits perfectly.

Hey trueunderdawg, this awesome fighting game called terrordrome reign of the legends just came out in early access. it would be really cool if you made a video on it.
In the next game I hope that they rework banes trait so that the debuff doesn't allow the opponent to do more damage. But I've always agreed with bane not dealing any damage during this phase as he his so scary to play against with the amount of damage he can do

Level 3 venom should only be used when you wanna yolo the opponent and kill him outright or when it’s serious comeback time. Life leads don’t matter as much with bane, since it only takes a few hits and you are dead.

use 3 cylinders in I2 with max upgraded armor and the charge attack and you can clear one health bar just like that

As a bane main the debuff is a fair trade off compare to other characters power in this game

What I don't get is why on earth did they remove his back breaker in injustice 2? It's his signature move and it was cool as hell, like at least include it in the supermove or outro. All that talk in injustice 2 intros about breaking people and he can't even do it. Might as well remove superman's super strength, deadshot's guns or cyborg's arm cannon.
Bring him as a guest in mk1, Bane deserves a back breaking brutality
