@@ministryofdefender7726 Just a question, would it be possible to redesign the heater/aircon box to enable it to bring in outside air and have air recirculation as an option, switchable via a button on the dash?
Awesome set up. In terms of the controls, I understand the AC On/Off switch at the top enables the AC function, the main fan control knob (far right) controls the primary fan speed, the booster knob (in the middle) controls the extra fans installed...but what does the knob on the left do? Did I hear you say water temperature? Does this do anything from a air temperature standpoint with this system? I thought it was largely AC On/Off and if it was "off" would effectively be heat blowing. Is that right?
Awesome video. I may have missed, but is the new heater core in the new a/c box you installed? Any idea if this would work as a complete swap for my a/c/heater in my 93 110 NAS?
Sorry for the late reply, (I never even saw the comments section) but yes, the heater and AC core are inside the same box, so will work as a swap for the NAS system. We've sold a few as NAS swaps so it's not an issue. Our unit is three speed, where the NAS is four, so you have to adapt the controls a bit...
The original demister outlets for the windscreen are retained, so no difference in that respect. The heater core is 13000btu with recycling so increases internal temperature faster than the standard hester box.
Can you please provide details on the variable speed coaxial booster fans. I need those for my aircon to handle the Australian heat! Where can I get them? Thanks
I’m considering buying your universal kit once I’ve finished my engine conversion in my TD5 90 (1UZ toyota engine). Does the AC pass through the standard passage ways? So through the dash to the footwells and out the top vents as well? Cheers
That particular installation had the hose routed over the engine, but the video is over 5 yrs old and was one of our first. We now route the #10 around the back of the engine to keep it tidier.
good install not impressed with the exposed wires they should have been in some conduate or made into a harness as a sparky i wasnt happy with those wires lol
Yes, fair comment. We did tidy them up and place them into conduits before handing it over to the client. I just had to film the last bit quickly as it was about to rain. 🙂
This looks great! I've never been able to drive a Defender with AC because my knees live in the same place as the AC box! Definitely worth a look!
Looks like a great system.
Very nice. One can but dream. First the chassis...
Thanks for stepping away from FB,
Putting mine in soon, heater box pulled today
Slowly moving the vids onto TH-cam :)
That's absolutely brilliant
many thanks 😊

Really nice job.

That’s well smart.
Hi there. Really great fit out. Could I rig something like this up in my series 3 safari. The dash/heater is much the same?
Is this still available? Where? Available in Australia? I do have a (non working) original air compressor can that be reused with this system?
NICE!!!

Does this improve the heat output in winter and can the airflow be directed to the windscreen to help with demisting?

Is it recirculating permanently? No fresh air option?
Is a stock intercooler being used in this setup? I can see the silicone hoses, but I cannot tell the size of the intercooler. Thank you for any info.
What is required for the installation in a 300TDI that is not included in the kit? Specifically in regards to the wiring
Just a small amount of extra wire is required depending on where you choose to mount the relays. Everything else is included.
How much does this upgrade cost? I have a 99 I want to upgrade.

T7 Design online do the booster fans and variable controls.

Can the tappet cover still be removed with that air con hose in place?

where does the aircon water from the core go?
The condensate drains out underneath onto the ground
How much would a job like this cost?
Would this fit into a landrover lightweight.and series 2a ?
Can this be put in to a 200 tdi?
What happens to the original heater and fan and direction controls ??
how much did this rework cost?
Would this be possible with a LHD?

Ministry of Defender website.
Nice I want to add air on to mine. Check out my defender on all things defender. I’ve given you a sub you nearly have 1000
Good morning sir. Just a quick question; is this a kit? If yes; is there available for Defender Td5? Thanks in advance
Yes, sure. Td5 kit is more or less the same layout.
could you run a pipe up to the ash tray on the dash and and make a couple vents to direct air would save chopping up the dash
where did you mount the drier?
