Very impressive and enjoyable railroad museum tour, the C&O rr had an impressive variety of steam locomotive types in their roster. The C&O 614 was very interesting to observe in action while hauling excursion trains back during the 1980s & '90s, it's a true shame that the 614 is no longer in operating condition anymore as I enjoyed seeing this locomotive operate. Hopefully at some point in the future the 614 will make a return to operation again after receiving the necessary maintenance and rebuild actions.
They need to store this locomotive in a building while waiting for funding. You can't just leave a beautiful running when parked 5000 hp steam engine outside forever or it's going to end up costing them more money to rebuild her as the water and nature eats away at her
Waiting for funding? There's currently no plans to run 614 and until there is one shell sit there. That is where her owner had her towed. And she's currently cared for well there.
