Would have been great to catch and cook a big one.
I was on the east coast for 10 days & never had a chance to eat any seafood or try lobster, so I guess that gives me a reason to return one day!
-20 this morning. Think of me when you are outside in a Tshirt!!

Beautiful place. That water got muddy pretty quick with the tide coming in though.

That's for sure about the water. Churned up quite a bit and the waves were pretty crazy at the point of the mouth of the river.
Certainly not crystal clear water like the Caribbean. Was a fun trip though, hopefully if I get a repeat I'll catch something big enough to eat.

They certainly don't look like anything I've seen before -being a bush raised Alberta boy.

Right on. I hope to return one day and catch some keepers! Hope you enjoyed it. Stay tuned for more my friend.

    Did you eat one?

    • @lovesloudcars
      @lovesloudcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

No. The bass were too small to keep, the little Tommy cod apparently don't get bigger than about 12 inches but I learned all that later.
10 days in Nova Scotia & never had a stitch of sea food.. Gives me something to look forward to I guess.

    Those are tomcod.

That's what some others said. I'm guessing you are familiar with them? How big do they get and I suppose they're good eating?
It was a fun time for an Alberta boy. Too bad we didn't catch any "keepers".
Either way it was fun. Perhaps I'll have a chance to return one day.

@@lovesloudcars they don't get very big. I caught a bunch in Beau Pres, Quebec. They aren't so exciting to catch... like big slugs. But they are not bad eating. You have to view them like perch or small mackerel. If you catch lots, and don't mind lots of filleting time, then the free meat is worth it (....maybe😁). In winter, in the Quebec City area, they come up the St. Lawrence in massive schools, and people come from all over to catch them. Look on TH-cam for St. Anne and tomcod.

@@curteouslycook I will check it out. Thanks for the reply. I got to visit Quebec city as a Canadian Ranger a handful of years ago. Beautiful city.
Meanwhile thanks for watching and your comments. Stay tuned for further nonsense and entertainment my friends!

Right on. That's what someone told me afterwards. Apparently they are small fish always? Managed to catch several, but didn't keep anything that day.
Still was a fantastic day on the other side of the continent from home!

@@markbonnell1036 wow. That sounds fantastic. I'd have loved to go fishing off shore there. - kind of a bucket list goal. Maybe I'll get another chance to return to that side of the country again.

Lots of great spots there to fish , catch a lot of small ones before you catch a keeper, still fun
