Love seeing people do this tag. What a lovely inscription Jason wrote you. I want that Anne of Green Gables hardcover edition, that's cool. There are so many good editions of Jane Eyre, you need a replacement! I enjoyed Cold Comfort Farm, it's a pretty silly book so the cover isn't too bad, I would say the local dialect in it was hard going even as an Englishman.
@@AaronReadABook Are you telling me I’m going to have a hard time understanding Cold Comfort Farm?!?! That is very distressing to me. You can have my copy of Anne of Green Gables … when I die! 😂 I love it! Hope you are having a good start to the week! 💛
👋 Kelly, what a great, tag. My answer to the questions I have ebooks. They can reside on one 3 ereaders, 1 of 2 SSD drives or on the Google Drive cloud. Not a bad cover in any, because you can add any cover you want, there is a Penguin classics cover generator website where at one stage back in 2022, I had all the books in that years TBR sporting a Penguin classic cover of my choosing or imagination, but having a dedicated room for a library would be just heavenly. The original Cold Comfort Farm Penguin Classics cover is beautiful it has a picture of a cow's nose (muzzle). Go well Kelly.
@@nathanfoung2347 God’s Nightgown, Nathan! I know, I know - you can take your whole library with you anywhere in the world, while I occasionally wonder what will happen to my cherished books one day. What are the names of your e-readers aside from Scarlett? Be well, friend! 🧧
Heh, that's the _Cold Comfort Farm_ cover I have.
@@booksimnotreadingwhy that would be Duchess and Akira. 😊
That inscription from Jason in Turtle Island is so beautiful! 💜 I love that copy of Anne of Green Gables too. I've never seen a hardback Penguin Classic like that! Oh and I literally just got a copy of Cold Comfort Farm, it arrived today! (Definitely not that cover though. 😅)
@@genteelblackhole The way my husband would write things to me - I found a poem in my mailbox one day - definitely helped to win me over, although it still took 5 years! Very cool you just got Cold Comfort Farm! Hope you got a lot of rest this weekend! I slept for 10 hours on Saturday night. 💛
@@booksimnotreading Aww, that's so sweet! Yes, sometimes it takes a while for it to finally 'click'.
Ahh I'm so glad you slept so well at the weekend, that sounds great! 💜 Unfortunately my sleep wasn't so great, I'm in strict self-care mode at the moment. But I'll get there.
@ Be kind to yourself! 💛
I hope you enjoy the humor in “Cold Comfort Farm”. To avoid confusion about some “out of time” elements later in the story read the “Author’s Note” before starting. I didn’t read it beforehand and I did a bit of head scratching in the 4th quarter of the novel.
@ Thanks for the tip! 💛
Hi Kelly, this is interesting tag. Oh Jason quotation for you is so beautiful.
Oh my that copy of Jane Eyre 😂 definitely who did the cover haven't read the book 😂. Jane Eyre is one of my favourite books and it is time for a reread.
Hope you have a great week my friend and happy reading 💛
@@charmainesaliba5546 Thanks Charmaine! I am so glad you enjoyed it. I am due for a reread of Jane Eyre, but not this year sadly. But it is a terrible cover! 😂 Hope you are well, my friend. 💛
Hey Kelly, Well you have far more shelf respect than I, as my book organization skills are nil. 🙃 Am honored to be on your acknowledgment list there. 🙂
You could do a Bookshelf Stain tag of sorts....
Beautiful note from Jason to you via Turtle Island. Wonderful book. I have a Shambhala pocket edition.
Interesting take on book covers. The only ones I could do without are when they put pictures of actors on the front if the book was made into a movie.
Thanks for sharing, and happy reads and all else to you. -Carm
@@gorvo31 So no movie covers, huh? I only mind it if I don’t like the movie or the image they have picked from the film doesn’t fit with the book. No more book stains! 😂 Have a great week, friend! 💛
1000+ books is a true library! I would love to have a room dedicated to my books (and enough bookshelves for them!).
I love that edition of Anne of Green Gables!
@@awebofstories It really is a library! When we were house shopping, the second I saw this room, I thought, “This will be the library.” It’s such a strange skinny room. But yes, I am very blessed! 💛📚
That's a beautiful inscription! A personal message always makes a book feel more special.
I have a hardcover of Anne of Green Gables too, from the local branch of Mr. K's Used Books, though the cover art on mine is different. I also got a hardcover of Anne of Avonlea from Mr. K's. It'll be so much easier to reread them in hardcovers with a larger trim size than in mass market paperbacks, with the accompanying tiny print and margins.
@@Ursulas_Odds_and_Sods Very cool, Ursula! 💛
Thanks for doing this tag and mentioning me. Thanks for your kind words. You know Jason is a keeper when he writes lovely messages to you like the one you quoted. I love your answers.
@@stuartgriffin1001 I’m so glad you tagged me - such great questions and it was fun to sort of browse my home library looking for covers. 💛💛💛

I am glad you were tagged. It has been interesting to look over the range and variations of answers to the questions. Yours not the least. You expressed a certain amusement with respect to writing the price paid in a book. I think I have a certain instinct towards value for money and something like maintaining your own accounts. It is a nice thing to pick a book off my shelf and double check how much I paid for it, which just might be a decent fair price. Your jacket picks were interesting and well within that whole human milieu of variation. I don't particularly care much for the Ovid cover for example. But having said that, I concur with all your dislikes! Lol. I haven't read _Cold Comfort Farm_ either, but my front cover is very different to the version you ended up with... Caveat emptor with respect to free books!
@@Richard.HistoryLit Hello Richard! So delighted to do this tag. The questions were great! Frankly, I would like to forget how much we paid for certain books - like my husband’s Folio books - or all the books we had to have right away that later showed up in the bargain section. But here’s to free books, books acquired with gift cards and the special fund at a used bookstore! Have a great week! 💛
@@booksimnotreading The weather is like an immutable characteristic but somehow a good book transcends even its own front cover... (probably...) 😊
I read The Winds of War and War and Remembrance when I was in high school and found them very fascinating.
@@BradGaby-su5tm Cool. Thanks for sharing! 💛
I was going to answer all the prompts but this would have turned into an essay. Organization? What's that? I try to (loosely) organize by author but I have so many double-stacked books, it doesn't always work out. My apartment has no further room for the required additional bookshelves. Then again, I could unhaul some books-no, forget I said that. The horror!😱
@@binglamb2176 The horror indeed! So glad I sent you the package when I did as I now understand we are in a trade war with Canada! Canada is maybe the nicest country in the world. How absurd! Anyway, I’m glad I could help you pile more books onto the shelves! 😃💛
@@booksimnotreading Yeah, this trade war is completely avoidable and it is sad how some misguided ego can upset the lives of so many people.
The poetry book with Jason's inscription is priceless and beautiful. I have to wonder about publishers that put such ugly covers on timeless classics like Jane Eyre. Do you think someone who hates the novel got to make the choice? I have the Literary Wonderlands book, and it covers lots of fascinating books and yet I've had it for years without reading it. Someday I will.
@@LaurieInTexas Hi Laurie! Maybe you are right … someone who hates Jane Eyre got to make the cover. I love the mini-series, but I am not a fan of the most recent feature film with Michael Fassbender, but I think I’d even take the movie cover over ours. Literary Wonderlands sounds like the name of a great Booktube event - just not hosted by me. 😃💛
