How she says "Come, hide from the heavens with me" with enthusiasm and looks at him with so much adoration is just so touching. This is acting at its finest.
When my grandma got into the later stages of Alzheimer's he'd often think he was a kid again. I remember pulling up to their farm and seeing him (80yrs) and my grandma (76yrs) in the creek splashing each other and laughing. They were 2 drenched elderly people but looked so young and so in love. My husband, my son (5 at the time) asked if we could join them. He laughed and told us to come play. We had a blast, thankfully my husband took some pics. My favorite was the pic of just those two before they noticed us, it caught so much in just one picture. Love, adoration, happiness, understanding, wisdom, youth, Spirit, compassion.... & Fun. What really got to me was most were shared between them. Even though in that moment he thought he was a kid he still looked at her with so much love. Even at his worse he still knew she was his love and she never let him forget what that feeling felt like not even in his last moments. According to the hospice nurse my grandma laid in bed with him in those final moments telling him about all the milestones, their first date, wedding, births of children and grandchildren while lovingly scratching him. A love like that is neverending, life, illness nor death can break the bond.
I flat out cried. Just to see how she knew how to speak to him about her responded and even in his madness praised his wife. I HATE WATCHING THOSE SHOWS LOL
When her children told her earlier that she was a bad mother and when Brimsley told her that he never married, I understood the full extent of her devotion to George. She was HIS wife first before anything else. Her entire life was about securing his legacy and making sure that all his suffering was not in vain. Maybe she wasn't the perfect mother to her children, mother to the nation, or master to her servants, but she tried to do her best for the duty she was chosen. Their relationship is not perfect but I think it's the best they could hope for, given the circumstances.
She actually was the best mother to a nation. A great queen for England and such an amazing protector, conselour and backbone for George before his illness deteriorated to the point of needing their son George to act as a regent. She helped him ruling for 40+ years and was amazing
Yeah it took me towards the end to understand the young Charlotte and George's story was Queen Charlotte's story. So sad Brimsley lived such a lonely life.
OMG same as soon as she fuckin said that I literally couldn't hold it in any longer and just started crying I'm not even kidding. This show is so good 1000 out of 1000.😊😭😅.
It’s such a beautiful line. Especially since I feel like it relates to their whole relationship. She didn’t go over the wall every single day of their marriage. It’s not just that she chose to stay and marry him when they first met, but that she chose to stay and love him every day after that.
And I guess that is also one of the thoughts that George keep overthinking that lead to his madness, he is fear of losing his queen but in fact she stay faithful and loyal to him.
King George is suffering mentally but he always manages to have a calm moment with his Lottie whenever she visits him. Sad but incredibly beautiful moment
Even when he is not calm he knows he loves her. In season 2 he saw beautiful fireworks and without knowing the day of the week knew he wanted to share such a beautiful moment with Lottie. That's incredible. Even when you're not you you're still you
Technically it was not a mental health disorder even though it seems like it it was most likely phosphyria which is caused by liver toxins and causes you to sort of lose it and get those episodes it just could not be treated and they didn't know what could cause it during that time.

This had me sobbing but also the scene of Reynolds and brimsley dancing and then a future shot of brimsley dancing alone 😭😭😭 … Jesus!! starting to tear up again!! Damn you Shonda Rhimes!!
I had to look into it because it bugged me that there was no more detail to brimsleys and Reynolds relationship. Apparently there is a scene where older brimsley meets up with an older version of Reynolds but it was cut from the show. They deemed the scene unnecessary because brimsley and Reynolds could have never truly been together because being gay in this time period was a hangable offense. There’s some solace in knowing Reynolds is at least still alive but regretful they couldn’t live happily together
I just realized that when he sees young Charlotte, she's wearing the blue dress and when she sees young George, he's wearing the clothes he was supposed to address Parliment in. Their flashback was to the very first time they were under the bed hiding from the heavens 😭😭😭
@@nevaehkalise9921another sweet and sad note is her fashion doesn’t change like all the other women through the years she wears the style of dresses George remembers that her younger self would wear 😢
“Thank you” echoes an earlier moment when Charlotte thanks him for going to the ball and he says “you never have to thank me.” But after 50 years of Charlottes devotion, he feels he has to thank her. This scene makes me cry
Can I just say that the casting of the younger Queen Charlotte and King George are spot on? The resemblance between the older and younger actors are uncanny! And the acting on everyone's part, phenomenal.👌🏻
I thought so too. Their resemblances both in physical appearance and action was so much. They really did a good job in the casting. And the acting was so good.
"Your line will live on" - The very first thing she cares. "Her entire life was about securing HIS legacy and making sure that all his suffering was not in vain". The laughters after "Fancy meeting you here" - It's not mere happiness, we can see sorrow, pain, and all kind of emotions altogether. But above all, she knew, her love for him has always been a right decision. Her devotion is recognised, and she must be desiring that true kiss for many many years. "You did not go over the wall" doesn't merely refer to the first time they met, rather, he means the whole time they are married (over 50 years). I believe, for a moment, he is sane. And that moment is just right!
Yes ❤❤❤😢😢 She was sad and almost broke down because destiny and reality didn't allow them to be together this way ALL THE TIME, EVERYTIME they wanted or wished. And yet they made it work and were together loving and supporting each other for 50+ years 😍😍🥺🥺🥺
@@krizhiel6376 because they both see in the other one their soul, who they really are. He sees and loves her soul and her way of being despite her flaws and she sees and loves him for his soul; when she sees him she does not see his illness because George is much more than that 😍😍 And for him Charlotte is much more than her flaws 😍😍💔💔🥺🥺
With their so-called "half-life, half-marriage" spent together they actually LOVED each other, LIVED and FELT EMOTIONS more than thousands of people do in a "complete one" ❤❤ MANY JUST WISH THEY COULD FIND SUCH A DEVOTION ❤❤
I actually loved that they kept the end realistic, and not the usual "her love healed him" bs. It makes their relationship something we can relate to. Their love may not have been perfect but it was real. ❤
Being a fan of the first two seasons I was so skeptical about this story, didn’t think it was needed. However, I was wrong THIS is by far the best Bridgeton “season”, I don’t think the others will top this. It was beautiful, complex, heartbreaking, romantic, steamy. I felt it in my chest. The actors were superb. Nothing will top this one. I’m only sad they did 6 episodes 😭 we need more young George and Charlotte
I honestly did not think that this was necessary, especially since Charlotte is not a book character... But my goodness, this is by far the absolute best season of Bridgerton.
I don't cry that easily buy this scene made even my husband cry. They ended this series with THE BEST scene of this show. The scene where George thanked her and held her hand, and the particular part where she looks at him as young king George, when they were young, things were better, as if time had stopped for her years ago. Unconsciously tears started falling down my eyes. That scene just was heartbreaking, beautiful and soulful in every way. No needs of words, the silence is louder. It didn't just made me emotional because because they have aged and how the handsome, charming George turned into this condition, cause we all age, it made me emotional because it is the reality of life. Nothing stays the same. Talk about giving a better ending than this. Because of that particular scene of young George's flash infront of Charlotte, and ofc vice versa when King sees young Charlotte too, this show is going to stay with me for a long time. And after watching this scene, the previous clips of the show hit even harder. The parallels of their young and old versions were so perfectly done, it is probably the best scene I've watched in a long while.
I agree wholeheartedly. It was beautiful. There is a movie called *The Bachelor* with Renee Zellweger and Chris O'Donnell. There is a scene where Chris is in a rowboat with a Priest who it turns out had been married, had kids and grandkids, but when his wife died, he became a priest. He says this line that is very much like what happens under the bed with Queen Charlotte and King George. He says, *"It's an amazing thing to live your life with someone who looks at you and sees what you Think You Still Look Like."* That was so beautiful to me. And that's what I thought of as Charlotte looks at her *Just George* and sees him as a young man. And he looks at his Queen, but what he sees is his *Charlotte who didn't go over the wall.* 😭🥰🤗😭🥰🤗😭
I agree 1000 percent with everything you said this show is so amazing and was done so well and I love this Scene so much it's I cannot even think of all the words to describe it but I think you did a great job explaining.
3 scenes were my favorite when they first met, when the man servant danced alone but this one had my glasses steaming due to some how water buildup in my eyes, I know not the reason🤫💯😊
I also liked Lady Danbury’s talk with her son when she told him that they were strong, told him her African name and where she came from in Africa 🙌🏿💯🙏🏿👍🏿
She never had George entirely, she always had pieces of him due to a cruel destiny. And George too with his state was not able to have his wife completely as he would have liked. Destiny robbed so many moments that could have been shared together and YET THEY MADE THEIR MARRIAGE AND LOVE WORK for 50+ years AND THEY DIDN'T LET DESTINY WINS OVER THEM 😍😍🥺🥺 That is what I call love and devotion ❤❤❤
@@garlantyrell6368 much more than 25 years actually... The illness started to get worse at the beginning of 1790s but they lived together until the 1810s...
This one is the most realistic relationship to me in the series. He is ill, but he is still just George and she accepts him. In sickness and in health and he appreciates and loves her for it.
Even irl they've gone down in history as one of the most well-known examples of a faithful, loving marriage between a monarch and his queen. While we'll never know exactly what their life was like behind closed doors or how similar it was to the fictionalized version we see here, we do know assuredly that they loved each other deeply, with George never once taking a mistress despite it being an acceptable & encouraged practice for a king, being utterly devoted to "the queen of his heart." Charlotte was of course equally devoted to him and ruled in his name, which is no small feat for a woman of the time, let alone navigating the struggles his probable bipolar disorder and psychotic breaks presented, and losing all the children they did at differing ages. To live a life so full of struggles in a time when there was no medical science to speak of, especially regarding the mind, and still be remembered for their passionate and undying love for each other is a beautiful thing to consider. Especially since that is the one thing they might be happiest to know they are renowned and remembered for. It's very poignant that if they could see the stories that are still told of George and Charlotte, the Queen of his heart, they would see that in a small way their struggles were "worth it." Though they knew that anyway because that kind of love and connection needs no validation
"You did not go over the wall"... just crushed me into an ugly cry! When I initially saw this ending, it just felt SO sad! But, the entire story stayed with me, for awhile. I later realized that although, it was quite tragic how George's affliction had overtaken him, finally. It was wondrous to witness the way Charlotte had learned how to bring 'just George' back (regardless of how temporarily). This was the most beautifully told love story, as their love had truly endured.. no more tears❣️
There is a review of Queen Charlotte by *Tait's Take* on TH-cam, where he says, *"A beautiful love story doesn't have to have a fairytale ending to be a Beautiful Love Story."* 🤗🥰🥲
I felt the same. Immense sadness for both of them. For all the moments they could have had but didn’t. The loneliness that spread to everyone in the castles between George and Charlotte. When Brimsley said “we are all in service to the king” really sunk home for me how lonely and miserable he was. They all were. Truly heartbreaking.
It gives me goosebumps that George III ruled for 59 years with his Wife and Son by his side, but also the fact that their future Granddaughter was Queen Victoria, one of the World’s most Powerful and Influential Queen who reigned for 63 years
@@dadevihe was blind and deaf by then, without mentioning his mental illness. So he never learned about it. I don’t know if that’s a small mercy or just cruel , but it sure is tragic
@@harumiwashere4733 Probably a mercy, they say George's final descent into madness was triggered by the death of his favorite daughter, Amelia. If he had any understanding of it, learning of the loss of his beloved Charlotte would have probably killed him.
Couldn't keep the tears from coming down here. Such a touching and inspiring story, it felt more real and relatable than the ones before, loved it so so much
i still cannot watch this particular scene without tearing up. it really shows the "us against the world no matter what" and "i love you, flaws and all" type of love. she chose to stay and i believe for him, it's everything.
Forever appreciating the whole hiding under the bed thing; such an intimate but childish action at the same time such as to mirror after all how young they were when they married each other and how much water has passed under the bridges for them since then, and yet indeed also how frozen in time they are, to when they did this the first time many years prior. In the end, nobody really understands Charlotte like George does and viceversa. It's painful to know how many things and people Charlotte gave up, willingly or not, to still have George, no matter in which capability, still with her; but one doesn't do that unless they're accompanied by one heck of a strong devotion for the person they love; and she has that. Her fixation with when and how he may die one day she often lists in both bridgerton and in this show, steems after all from fear, from not knowing how to not be his wife and how to be without him.
She's intimidating to the people, she's sharp tongued with friends and comrades but with her husband, she knows him well enough to deal with whatever he's going through. Whether if he doesn't remember his daughter was ill, when he has panic attacks or when he's rambling...She's there for him. She hides from the heavens with him like they did a long time ago. Queen Charlotte is truly astounding.
The way she touches his face at 1:54 is so affectionate. You really feel that they have been married for years in just that little moment. You know she cares for her kids, Brimsley and Danbury, but she only shows that soft and sweet side of herself to George.
I cried when I saw Brimsley dancing alone, I cried at this scene. I cried for an hour straight after completing this show. It was better than the rest of the bridgeton series. Really loved this show ❤
I keep watching this scene only to cry every time, it’s just that Charlotte and George have distanced but their love for each other stayed strong. It’s so nice to witness these rare occasions where George is able to be himself and remember his life with Charlotte fully, it shows the connection they share and how Charlotte stuck to his side no matter what. It’s such a good show.
I guess you see why she smiled at Simon and Daphne, who were planning on living separately. I am sure she heard the rumors. Even though they were separated for a small amount of time, they realized how much they loved each other. When Lady Danbury told everyone to leave, Charlotte walked off with a smile on her face. I am sure it reminded her of her marriage to George. Same with Anthony and Kate when they were dancing at the end of season two, she was watching them with a huge smile on her face. It's like she sees her love with George through Bridgerton's.
What comforts me is that they lived separated only during the 1810s due to George's illness deteriorating state caused by old age and one of their daughter's death. But before that they lived nearly 50 years in happiness together, despite the constant haunting of his illness and other tragedies (like the loss of two sons during infancy)
What I loved about that scene is their feet sticking out at the end of the bed together because it really showed the unconditional love between them because Charlotte chose not to go over the wall which made it them against the entire world when she made that choice and it continued throughout their entire life. She stayed with him and supported him even when she didn't have to and Charlotte sacrificed her parental position to keep the royal position secured for her children. It was really a beautifully written scene and I never wanted the series to end just so well done Netflix
I've never cried so hard at the end of a show. The unconditional love that she gave him. She worked with his illness instead of trying to fix him. This is the best of the Bridgerton series so far.
I can watch this scene a thousand times and still tear up. One of the purest scenes i have ever seen. The calm Charlotte shows towards King George is just so beautiful. The love that's still alive inspite of how worse the king's health has gotten is a reminder that love is the most powerful thing in this universe. I am absolutely in tears always when she calls out 'just George' and 'farmer george' and instantly the king comes back to her. its pure and divine. i was left speechless when i first saw it. This is the best scene ever made and no one can make me think otherwise. Kudos to Shonda Rhimes and the entire team of Queen Charlotte. ❤
One of the most mature and realistic love stories I have seen.. When you watch the series fully, this powerful ending scene gets a new meaning and will surely make you cry.. And to top it all it is partly real.. That's what made it even amazing
This last episode was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t find anything wrong with it in any way, shape or form. The writing, and the acting just superb.
The sad part is that Queen Charlotte doesn’t get to meet her future granddaughter, as she died six months before Queen Victoria’s birth. She would’ve been so proud of her as Queen.
What i love about this series more than anything else is how carefully they portrayed a relationship involving someone suffering from mental illness, and a relatively extreme one at that. Charlotte choosing to love George -- Farmer George, King George, Manic George, or whatever George -- is so endearing. Because at the end of the day, flaws and all, he really was Just George :,)) And they could've easily shown him to have violent tendencies like alot of portrayals of mentally ill characters do, but they actually focused on the reality that most ppl fighting mental battles are actually terrified of hurting or burdening someone, so they push everyone away. And often end up victims of abuse themselves (George's "treatment"). Just really heartwarming as someone with anxiety and PTSD to see a character so dedicated to helping their partner get through this life and assuring them that they are enough. With hope that he'll get better not for herself, but for his own sake. Yet ready to love him even if he gets worse. Without letting him wallow in his misfortune, but gently pushing him to do what she knows he can. Without getting frustrated that he isn't completely well, but meeting him where he is and hiding from the heavens with him. Ok, gonna go cry over this scene one more time now 🏃🏾♀️
There’s also the fact that (according to Princess Augusta), George was viciously abused by his grandfather (King George II). That had to have played a factor.
“But I suppose even I must recognize the importance of each person deciding what to do in the face of true love Everyone deserves to make that choice. Just as everyone deserves to feel it’s power But one must know.. it is the hardest and greatest choice one can ever make.” -Queen Charlotte
Just yesterday, I finished watching Queen Charlotte. This scene broke me. I rarely cry at shows/film, but always feel deeply… THIS broke me, though. After this scene was over, I sat momentarily, silently, before breaking into an ugly-cry. I had to collect myself, cried for like ten minutes 😭 The scene with Brimsley and Reynolds dancing, then fast-forwarding to present and Brimsley is alone… that made me tear 😢😢😢 All the emotions were building, and then young George? 😭 And THEN young Charlotte too? 😭😭😭 Right in the feels. Amazingly well done from beginning to end 💯❤
“ fancy seeing you here “ he was pleasantly surprised to still see her by him ( they were also in his hideout spot where he hides himself from the heavens and the world , where he’s just George ) and she lets out a sad cry / laugh as if to say “ I’ve always been here / I never left and I’m glad you recognized that “ and he says confirming that “ you did not go over the wall “ ( while said could mean he remembers and is glad she didn’t go over that wall but here it most def also means that you stayed and never left me all those years “ and she confirms and emphasizes again by saying “ no George , I did not go over the wall “ My favorite ever scene!! Poignant beautiful bittersweet, masterpiece of a scene ..I cried so much I could barley see the screen
This story moved me so much. It's beautiful and sad to see how they have to enjoy every little moment together, because no one knows how worse his mental illness will be tomorrow. Every moment they're together, every time he comes back for her is a blessing.
She wasn’t a good mother, she was so focus on protecting George and caring for him. Her love for him was so great that, to some extent, she neglected her children. She was the best queen and wife. Their children knew that, they never wanted to leave her with that burden all alone
That’s true. George IV was a Bad King and never even liked his parents. I’m glad him and his brother became King for a short period before passing the throne to the much more influential Queen Victoria
It's amazing how Queen Charlotte stick by King George's side through thick and thin.. Majority of the audience are impressed by George's love but for me, her love is the greatest of all.
This scene slayed me. So beautifully bittersweet. The way they saw each other as who they were when they first fell in love. Their feet at the end. I was bawling like a baby 🥹❤
This scene depicts that Charlotte is also a person with ambitions, emotion and tough love especially for her family (as she had to grow up faster due to George’s condition and the responsibilities she took on) even though she was not able to be the mother her children wanted and needed as she was George’s Queen frozen in time. It emphasises that she has flaws too and is not as perfect as the Ton (society) deem her to be but everything she did was and is out of love even if people do not understand and that’s what makes her and her relationship with George so fascinating. I could literally sit and pick apart some many other scenes, outfit colours choices, sentences and the development of the plots in deeper context and even potential arcs if we ever get a second season
Never thought I would be moved to tears by a period drama. They are my moms favorite thing to watch. I watched them all growing up. And here I am 24 and crying over a new period drama because it hit so close to home I just wasn’t prepared. Fantastic writing, fantastic acting, fantastic filming. Just wonderful
This Series is really an eye opener where in other bridgeton we saw Charlotte as a not caring and selfish but after watching this everything changed . She not only handle the whole country but also handle her husband very well. Even after knowing he is not well Charlotte never left her and let him be the way he wanted. She is indeed the Queen.
This scene hit whatever impact they wanted to hit. This scene is sweet, sad just wants to make u want to cry. They had everlasting love. They were the true definition of doing the good and through the bad. Through sickness and in health.
They loved each other in the most honest way possible.... It was a love story with struggles but I will not call it sad (though it made me cry at various moments) because they stay together for a long long time and that is what matters when you are in love.
My favorite scene in all of Bridgerton, had me in tears 😭. Queen Charlotte and Farmer George have become my unexpected favorite couple in the whole series.
Seeing Queen Charlotte, a force of nature, a person who commands every room she’s in and knows it, being so vulnerable here… it was a really nice moment and a lovely way to end this limited series.
It's so beautiful idk if he's supposed to be thanking her for ensuring their bloodline but it feels like he's saying thank you for choosing a life with him and IM NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING 😭
:10-:21 is SO GOOD. The way she goes from “oh… that’s right. It’s harder to reach him” to “but I know HOW to reach him.” UGHHHHHH TEARS!!! Such a beautiful ending. In all the present day scenes we see her ambition and drive to secure her husband’s line, THEIR line. Then, for the last 3 minutes we see that same youthful, dumbstruck in love Charlotte from the past again. Her smiling and laughing with the love of her life, getting him back for just a little while and seeing how that’s always been enough 🥹😭
cried so much after this scene!! this ending was just perfect. i loved when george said thank you to her and the love they have for each other it's just so precious 🥺
“Your line will Live On” “**Our Line**” The way he makes sure to emphasize that it’s his and hers warms the heart. Absolutely loved the older versions lying next to the younger ones.
Sometimes I think I can watch this and not cry and I'm proven wrong every time. This just activates my tear ducts automatically now. Especially the absolutely adoring look of young Charlotte at 2:29.
Love when he says: "Our line!" and looks at her with such love and gratitude - it's full circle. On their wedding night he had made up his mind that they should live in separate houses because he couldn't bear to lose her and all she could say in her distress was: "But isn't this OUR house?" A royal line is known as a 'house'. And indeed in the end - thanks to her persistence - it was THEIR house, THEIR line. Together.❤
This series was the best so far.. no one warned me I would need a box of tissues, truly excellent writing and the cast deserve all the accolades.. just beautiful 🙌🙌🙌🥰🙏❤️
His mind is deteriorating, but in there, his Lottie will forever be that gorgeous, fierce, sassy firebrand of a woman who was trying to climb over a wall on that beautiful, sunny day. Even when he can't recognize her as she's standing in front of him, that's who she is to him.
I think for the first time i felt my heart sink out of love. The emotions, the acting, the music gave me chills. Truely one of the most remarkable scenes ❤️🥺😭🥲
This, to me, is the best scene ever of all the bridgerton series. Season 1 was about insane chemistry, an explosion of emotions. Season 2, a slow burn turning into a raging inferno of emotions and this Queen Charlotte scene....wow, a matured love built on total acceptance of each other, flaws and all. Bravo!!
I wasn't prepared to cry a single bit by a Bridgerton series. This one though.. God, I was literally sobbing and ugly crying by this scene alone. This is poetry.
Its the thank you 😢. Thank you for staying by my side all these years despite everything and " you did not go over the wall " 😢😢.This is a marriage of many years commitment
This scene, this scene right here made me an emotional wreck. This was a very beautiful emotional scene. I absolutely loved how this scene was created. You have no idea of how much I felt when I saw this. Thank you to India and Corey for being Charlotte and George, thank you so much.
How she says "Come, hide from the heavens with me" with enthusiasm and looks at him with so much adoration is just so touching. This is acting at its finest.
Yep, it’s so well done

Right I loved Reynolds and Brimsley they could have given them a happy ending.
What happened to reynold I didn’t understand the last episode
I thought Reynolds had died

I just realized that when he sees young Charlotte, she's wearing the blue dress and when she sees young George, he's wearing the clothes he was supposed to address Parliment in. Their flashback was to the very first time they were under the bed hiding from the heavens 😭😭😭
OMGOSH YOU’RE RIGHT! I DIDNT EVEN REALIZE!!!
@@nevaehkalise9921another sweet and sad note is her fashion doesn’t change like all the other women through the years she wears the style of dresses George remembers that her younger self would wear 😢
It's that flash back because that's what George can remember.
"Thank you" / "our line" BEST DECLARATION OF LOVE AND DEVOTION EVER
❤️❤️
😭😭😭❤
Yes 😭❤
“Thank you” echoes an earlier moment when Charlotte thanks him for going to the ball and he says “you never have to thank me.” But after 50 years of Charlottes devotion, he feels he has to thank her. This scene makes me cry
The fact that she went from “I should’ve gone over the wall” to “ no George I did not go over the wall” makes me cry every damn time😢
Can I just say that the casting of the younger Queen Charlotte and King George are spot on? The resemblance between the older and younger actors are uncanny! And the acting on everyone's part, phenomenal.👌🏻
I thought so too. Their resemblances both in physical appearance and action was so much. They really did a good job in the casting. And the acting was so good.
Even lady danburry as well! The younger lady danburry looks and mannerism is so similar to the older lady danburry
I also loved the actor who played young Brimsley
Yes!! When he said “you didn’t go over the wall” it meant you never left me 😭.
The way she laughed at 2:01 was so sad. She looked like she was about to burst into tears.
Yes ❤❤❤😢😢
She was sad and almost broke down because destiny and reality didn't allow them to be together this way ALL THE TIME, EVERYTIME they wanted or wished.

Couldn't agree more. Even with his illness they were still able to celebrate their heir together. Precious moment it was wonderful
I actually loved that they kept the end realistic, and not the usual "her love healed him" bs. It makes their relationship something we can relate to. Their love may not have been perfect but it was real. ❤
@@Jazz_Oldhouse absolutely. Their love was perfect thanks to the imperfections that made it real and deeply felt 😍😍
Maybe that’s the thing that made this marriage looked like more fulfilled than many “full” marriages. They cherished what they had
I was just thinking this. They probably had a better marriage than most people. How lucky are they to have had a love like that.
Also it looks wayyyy more expensive than the main storyline, production wise this is PEAK FORM
Right! This one is my favorite season then followed by Season 2 and then season 1
I honestly did not think that this was necessary, especially since Charlotte is not a book character... But my goodness, this is by far the absolute best season of Bridgerton.
Agree! This one is my favorite! So moving and masterfully done ❤
This was the only bridgerton "season" that made me cry
Destiny robbed so many moments that could have been shared together and YET THEY MADE THEIR MARRIAGE AND LOVE WORK for 50+ years AND THEY DIDN'T LET DESTINY WINS OVER THEM 😍😍🥺🥺
That is what I call love and devotion ❤❤❤
At least they were happy for 25 full long years before King George’s madness started to come back.
@@garlantyrell6368 much more than 25 years actually... The illness started to get worse at the beginning of 1790s but they lived together until the 1810s...
Yeah 😊
Maybe their ending was not perfect as faitytales' ones and more attached to a cruel reality, but their love surely was PERFECT 😭😭💔💔
This one is the most realistic relationship to me in the series. He is ill, but he is still just George and she accepts him. In sickness and in health and he appreciates and loves her for it.
@🐞 joy, peace and happiness ur words are so beautiful😭💗
Even irl they've gone down in history as one of the most well-known examples of a faithful, loving marriage between a monarch and his queen. While we'll never know exactly what their life was like behind closed doors or how similar it was to the fictionalized version we see here, we do know assuredly that they loved each other deeply, with George never once taking a mistress despite it being an acceptable & encouraged practice for a king, being utterly devoted to "the queen of his heart."
Charlotte was of course equally devoted to him and ruled in his name, which is no small feat for a woman of the time, let alone navigating the struggles his probable bipolar disorder and psychotic breaks presented, and losing all the children they did at differing ages.
@@webkid4567could not have said it better myself ❤

This might be the best scene in the entire show, including season 1 and 2.
Indeed. This is my favorite scene out of all of Bridgerton.
Heck this is my favorite scene ever!
@0:54 George says "Why, hello." like he's flirting with Charlotte! I love them!!
Plus we don’t know the last time she had come to see him so he’s coming back to reality and seeing his wife was a surprise
I was not expecting to be so emotional about this series. I have not been the same. This scene is so beautiful. I couldn't stop crying.
"No George, I did not go over the wall" ❤❤❤🥺🥺 AND SHE NEVER REGRETTED IT 😭😭😭😍😍😍
Forever appreciating the whole hiding under the bed thing; such an intimate but childish action at the same time such as to mirror after all how young they were when they married each other and how much water has passed under the bridges for them since then, and yet indeed also how frozen in time they are, to when they did this the first time many years prior.
“YOU DID NOT GO OVER THE WALL.” 😭😭😭
“NO GEORGE. I DID NOT GO OVER THE WALL.” 😭😭😭

2:09 “You did not go over the wall” HE REMEMBERS 😭😭😭
She's intimidating to the people, she's sharp tongued with friends and comrades but with her husband, she knows him well enough to deal with whatever he's going through. Whether if he doesn't remember his daughter was ill, when he has panic attacks or when he's rambling...She's there for him. She hides from the heavens with him like they did a long time ago. Queen Charlotte is truly astounding.
In reality, she was not there for him.
@@livingincaptivityIII I know, I wish she was there for him.
Really loved this show ❤
So did I
I keep watching this scene only to cry every time, it’s just that Charlotte and George have distanced but their love for each other stayed strong.
The casting with this one is on point!! India did a phenomenal job, as did Corey 👏
What comforts me is that they lived separated only during the 1810s due to George's illness deteriorating state caused by old age and one of their daughter's death.
But before that they lived nearly 50 years in happiness together, despite the constant haunting of his illness and other tragedies (like the loss of two sons during infancy)
George also never took a royal mistress which was unheard of at that time.
This makes the ending a lot better I didn’t know that and thought they lived their lives separated
This scene had me in tears😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭and I have seen it more than once. The perfect picture of love, devotion and endurance ❣❣
And with 2 less episodes than its predecessors!!!

Because at the end of the day, flaws and all, he really was Just George :,))
And they could've easily shown him to have violent tendencies like alot of portrayals of mentally ill characters do, but they actually focused on the reality that most ppl fighting mental battles are actually terrified of hurting or burdening someone, so they push everyone away.
I wish that Porphyria was simply a "mental illness". It is the physical symptoms that drive you "mad".
“But I suppose even I must recognize the importance of each person deciding what to do in the face of true love

Just yesterday, I finished watching Queen Charlotte. This scene broke me. I rarely cry at shows/film, but always feel deeply… THIS broke me, though. After this scene was over, I sat momentarily, silently, before breaking into an ugly-cry. I had to collect myself, cried for like ten minutes 😭
The scene with Brimsley and Reynolds dancing, then fast-forwarding to present and Brimsley is alone… that made me tear 😢😢😢 All the emotions were building, and then young George? 😭 And THEN young Charlotte too? 😭😭😭 Right in the feels. Amazingly well done from beginning to end 💯❤
Same, I was obsessed with this show for months after watching.
“ fancy seeing you here “ he was pleasantly surprised to still see her by him ( they were also in his hideout spot where he hides himself from the heavens and the world , where he’s just George ) and she lets out a sad cry / laugh as if to say “ I’ve always been here / I never left and I’m glad you recognized that “ and he says confirming that “ you did not go over the wall “ ( while said could mean he remembers and is glad she didn’t go over that wall but here it most def also means that you stayed and never left me all those years “ and she confirms and emphasizes again by saying “ no George , I did not go over the wall “
My favorite ever scene!! Poignant beautiful bittersweet, masterpiece of a scene ..I cried so much I could barley see the screen
After all this time, they can just be "Charlotte and George" That is so sweet!
So that’s why most of their daughters never married? (In films at least)
That’s true. George IV was a Bad King and never even liked his parents. I’m glad him and his brother became King for a short period before passing the throne to the much more influential Queen Victoria
Brimsley hit the nail on the head with both of those observations.
I’ve watched this scene like 6 times and it’s makes me cry everytime. It’s truly some of the best acting I’ve seen from Netflix in awhile.
Never thought I would be moved to tears by a period drama. They are my moms favorite thing to watch. I watched them all growing up. Queen Charlotte was actually white. These characters are fictionalized. If by being brought to life in a fictional sense then yes, they were
This Series is really an eye opener where in other bridgeton we saw Charlotte as a not caring and selfish but after watching this everything changed . She not only handle the whole country but also handle her husband very well. Even after knowing he is not well Charlotte never left her and let him be the way he wanted. She is indeed the Queen.
Charlotte stopped visiting George 6 years before she died.
This scene hit whatever impact they wanted to hit. This scene is sweet, sad just wants to make u want to cry. They had everlasting love. They were the true definition of doing the good and through the bad. Through sickness and in health.
The fact that she sacrificed a good life for herself to secure and continue his lineage gets me , and when he says “our line.” My heart !!!

This was honestly such a beautiful scene, and a wonderful ending to an incredible show
