- Honda added 18 percent more torque and upped the CC's to 286 in their new CRF300L. They also added a slipper clutch. This versatile machine is user friendly and fun both on road and offr oad.
We asked off road expert James Simzer what he thought Honda's latest offering in the CRF class.
For shorter riders this soft suspension makes it difficult to dismount no matter which method you employ. The Rally Raid rear suspension upgrade helped somewhat but I also had to fit the shorter side stand to go with that upgrade.

Yeah I got my Rally suspension right in the bin, first throw.
I have this bike. It’s fantastic for riding dirt roads and around the campsites. Not so good on the highway…short trips of maybe 10 miles but anything longer than that simply get a more powerful bike. I know Itchyboots covers a lot of tarmac on hers, but it’s pure torture with it screaming at 7000RPM. A great, lightweight multi purpose bike, but for any guy that’s larger than the average female…get a bigger bike to cover big road miles.
Great bike and a great way to get into dualsport riding.
