Fire Oiltanker NASSIA (Smit Tak - 1994)

In maart 1994 kwamen de olietanker NASSIA en het vrachtschip SEA BROKER op de Bosporus in aanvaring en vlogen in brand. Smit Tak stuurde onmiddellijk een brandbestrijdingsteam met apparatuur. Terwijl ze het schip zoveel mogelijk koelden, sleepten ze de NASSIA naar open water (Zwarte Zee) om te voorkomen dat ze zou zinken middenin de drukke vaarroute. Uiteindelijk slaagden zij er in het vuur te doven en een mielieuramp te voorkomen. ©1994 PKFV.
In March 1994 oil-tanker NASSIA and bulk-carrier SEA BROKER collided at the Bosporus and caught fire. Smit Tak immediately flew in a fire fighting team with equipment. They towed the NASSIA to open sea (Black Sea) to avoid she she would sink in the middle of the busy shipping lane while cool down the hull as much as possible. Finally they succeeded to extinct the fire and save the environment from a huge disaster. ©1994 PKFV.
