- In Okinawa, Japan giant clams and conches are usually found in seafood markets. All parts of the conch meat are edible. In East Asian cuisines, this seafood is often cut into thin slices and then steamed or stir-fried.
The large conch shells have been used as trumpets (Horagai) in Japan for many centuries. The instrument, which has served a number of purposes throughout Japanese history, has been given a number of Japanese names depending on its function.

I kinda like to watch videos like this one. Super exotic. But I have noticed something in common with all those videos, the incredible amount of water that is used in the cleaning process. That's a lot of water for just a "few bits" of food. In times like these ones we live on, I wonder if they could find some way to do the cleaning without spending that many water. And no, I'm not a "greenpeace" kind of guy.

My wife and I have always wanted to travel to Japan. The distance just has always put us off for other places. My brother and I are from Mexico and have grown up eating different more exotic foods. With Japanese being tied to real Mexican food ( not anything you can get here in the states ) for #1 best foods.
Anyways. We are planning our trip to Japan next week!!!!
