Casual people don't know how important marching bass drums are to a drum line tbh.

Yeahhh back when I first started making cadences I wrote the bass parts last, kinda trying to fill in with it. The result sounded too dry and just empty. It was a big mistake. I always write the bass part first now. It is the most important.

MaSwizzle I’ve done studio recordings on bass drums before, and trust me, you want to have it flat so you can see where you’re hitting. No matter how consistent you are, a bad playing zone can ruin a recording.

I would never have guessed in a million years that Blue Devils did this. Now that I know that they did, it makes complete sense. I mean, DCI World Class is as close to professional as you can get for this kind of thing, and since BD is based out of Concord, which really isn't too far from Pixar in Emeryville, it just makes perfect sense.
I wonder if Disney animation uses some of the So Cal WGI or DCI groups when they need to record marching instruments.
