I was with metro PCS in fact I still am and I'm getting I was getting great coverage watching my home camera and when 5G came in my bandwidth got cut bad I can't even watch my camera anymore
Several issues going on: 1.- t-mo is using lo-band 5g but not necessarily adding a lot more towers. ( There's 3 flavors of 5g: lo-band, mid-band, & hi- band) The upper two are faster but the signal does not travel very far...so all 3 carriers will be deploying the two upper bands only in denser urban areas where they have more customers. I think only t-mo has plans to deploy the lo-band, which has a much longer signal reach, more extensively in more rural areas,,,,so The deployment is very patchy for all 3 carriers. 2.- all 3 carriers are really not telling us much about their deployments or sharing much info, in typical Telco fashion....they could be more transparent, but that isn't their style. For example, they could promote an app that would register signal strength, then you would know what you were getting.....but they would rather keep the customers in the dark. 3.- 5g deployment and rollout will take years if it really ever happens...it a very much more complicated tech than 4glte. All 3 carriers will not be telling you the truth about exactly where, what type, and how complete their coverage is, but they will expect you to buy all their devices. It's fubar as far as I am concerned. Good luck

You need a hotspot that is compatible with the network and carrier you are using for your plan. The Netgear devices you mentioned are primarily designed for AT&T. If you want to take advantage of 5G, you have to have a 5G device. 5G devices are backward compatible with 4G/LTE.
100gb is not enough they better push that up to the level of 2tb most people are using these as home internet and that is what people want forget that oh people don't use that much we are not in 1997 we have games with over 100gb and 4k tv all our phones update on a regular and many of us have 50 or more apps and they have to spend the money if they want the consumer to open their wallets or purses!

Perhaps, but you'd burn through your data pretty quickly.
what else do I need with this %G mifi M2000? will I still need a cell phone signal booster or the weboost ??? I am so stressed out with this nonsense
Since there are no antenna ports on this device, a cell booster is the only option for signal enhancing.
I use Calyx Institute 4G unlimited no cap at $50 a month and includes a hotspot unit which uses T Mobile/Sprint network. No problems so far and have used 650gb last month no throttling
That's also one of our top pick data plans. But that plan is a Sprint plan, that roams onto T-Mobile only when there's no Sprint signal.
Sprint sucks
So is there a plan on TMobile that does the same. No cap no throttle and 4g lte

I just started using the M2000, before I was using my T-mobile Note20 for a hotspot. I notice that watching the same movie with the M2000 uses almost 5 time the data of the phone hotspot. Is that because it's 5G. Is there any way to throttle it back to 4G? Would that make any difference? Thanks

@@MobileInternetResourceCenter I called t mobile & they stated that it would work in turkey & the Philippines which all that matter so it’s limited then? How is it overall when it works? Would it work fine for a work from home job abroad?
The terms in the fine print clearly state no international use (www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans). But on T-Mobile plans that do support it, it's only at 128 kbps - super slow for most stuff beyond checking e-mail and very light web surfing.

Does Mifi M2000 5G hotspot work well in a vehicle moving at high speed or does the performance degrade considerably?
The vehicle speed won't matter, but signal conditions change depending on location and as you move from one tower cell to another, which can impact performance.

Throttled to 128kbps (unusable) for the rest of the month once you use up that 100GB. And they charge you an extra $40 a month if you don't have phone with them. Hardly call that a great deal. 😒
@@skepticalbeliever5001, I read, start with a $20 phone ("unlimited" phone, text & data), then add the $50 hotspot.

All depends on what you call 'suitable'. 100GB generally isn't enough for most household use.

I thought I had read it could only be used at a certain location. So not really mobile.
You're confusing this with their Home Internet service (which is unlimited for $50/mo). This plan is officially mobile.
According to a T mobile customer service rep they said that the “home internet modem” has an acquired GPS lock to only allow service at your home address.. keep this in mind when determining what to sign up for hotspot allows travel internet vs their unlimited “GPS locked at your address” home internet package
I just did this plan today. 8 yr tmobile cust. I am in the sticks. I have been hotspotting 100+ a month. 5-6 yrs ago used to throttle to an unusable amount. I had 50g on phone 20 g on tablet. also premium hotspot for phone. the new speeds are noticeable, better. when it throttles ,still 480p. im dropping the $25 tablet plan. The phone I dropped the premium data down to basic. $25 less. Added $50. for 100g data on hotspot. $7 mth for the Is Inseego.
I was with metro PCS in fact I still am and I'm getting I was getting great coverage watching my home camera and when 5G came in my bandwidth got cut bad I can't even watch my camera anymore
Ya 5g sucks I have verizon and ill be watching a video on 4glte and my phone will switch to 5g and it just cuts out
Several issues going on:
1.- t-mo is using lo-band 5g but not necessarily adding a lot more towers.
( There's 3 flavors of 5g: lo-band, mid-band, & hi- band)
The upper two are faster but the signal does not travel very far...so all 3 carriers will be deploying the two upper bands only in denser urban areas where they have more customers. I think only t-mo has plans to deploy the lo-band, which has a much longer signal reach, more extensively in more rural areas,,,,so
The deployment is very patchy for all 3 carriers.
All 3 carriers will not be telling you the truth about exactly where, what type, and how complete their coverage is,
but they will expect you to buy all their devices. It's fubar as far as I am concerned. Good luck
Do you use any specific apps to measure the signal ?
