Even I'm a big fan of VanMoof, but honestly, I was a kind of struggle to buy one cause of a charging issue. Now so glad to see the "portable" power support!! No reasons not to get one!!! Thanks!!
Just don't. MANY people have problems with their bike. Me included. Under 1000km and the bike is squeeking from the padels and the electronics are throwing errors like crazy. I'm in contact with the support. If you want a reliable ride, dodge this one.
I live on the second floor and the bike really is too heavy to carry it up to charge it for my daily commute to work. But even with this removable battery I'm concerned it significantly reduces the lifespan of the integrated battery, to leave the bike outside during the winter. A lighter S4 or a removable standard battery would convince me to get a vanmoof myself.
nice idea, but will give problems with how this is fixed with the bike and how it is connected to the standard battery. after a few rain showers and sand, what would the stuck points look like? and the paint underneath? and charging? can this be charged at the same time? or should this be done separately.
If you are serious in your ambition to make the best e-bike bike in the world, then you are going to have to design one with a Gates carbon belt drive on it. Not the compromised aftermarket conversion but a frame designed specifically for a one-piece belt. The S3 has many design elements to commend it, but that metal chain is a dealbreaker. No expensive R&D required to re-invent the (aherm) belt, they have already been perfected. Hopefully you will see sense before the S4 is released.
It would be nice, if Vanmoof would spend more effort in Quality and Service. This is, where i see the biggest Problem. New features are nice but a range extender doesnt help if i have no range at all. I ordered one but worry i run into same problems i see in so many TH-cam videos.
Exactly, my S3 is the best bike in the world when it works. It has been returned three times in one year for total failures. Only 500km ridden in Copenhagen, a flat city almost exactly like Amsterdam, in terms of bicycling infrastructure. Pretty damning, really for a 2000 EUR bike.
So much thoughts in it Yet you failed 2 things in my opinion Compatibility with older model (is it a cable issue ?) A usb c port to charge the removable battery I do hope you will release a version for the people who spent 3400 e in your bikes 2 years ago (not taking)
forget USB-C. It requires way too much juice to even consider something with "USB" in its name. I do understand what you are out for, being able to charge with a random laptop charger... but no.. not technically feasible. Its a reason E-bikes have dedicated chargers... Or whats next? "I want to charge my EV car with USB-C"... okay you want a full charge in 1 year? COULD work by integrating a full blown charger in the bike/battery itself and instead using like a C8 connector - like on many printers and electronics - the 2 pin unearthed AC connector - but then the bike would be much more expensive as the CE approval would require certifying the bike for mains usage. A separate charger is easier to certify.
I love Vanmoof but: When I buy the PowerBank and I cant load my Bike at home than its really cool. But I have to charge the Powerbank a few ours and than I have to load the bike with the Powerbank. Thats not the best solution... But for some People its a great feature. And its really expensive...
Nice if you had a bike. Non distinct.. no weird handle bar. No in build lights... just completely indistinct. As in not nickable from its distinctive looks
Trotz diverser Mails. Schade, weil so ein schönes Fahrrad. Aber es sollte halt gerne funktioniere.
Too bad it’s not backward comparable with older Vanmoof’s. The strength of the brand in its ecological market footprint would be greater if many of the components, such as the core, motor, and batteries (which are already already removable/replaceable) could be modular and upgraded to take advantage of Vanmoof’s newest tech while keeping the existing frame.
We need more of these videos!
I love Van Moof as much as I love Bang & Olufsen 😍
Please do behind the scenes videos for the bikes as well! I love those R&D insights! Such an awesome video! Keep it up, Vanmoof!

Mee too I love the bike🚲, this is my favorite one. I live in Netherland😊
@@funnymeme7034 Ja, dit zet Nederland goed op de kaart😁
Love you so much VanMoof! Keep going!
What about a Video about a updated Automatic Gear Shift?
Does it charge the normal battery while driving so it stays in one level or is it being activated when the normal battery is empty?
Im looking for a cable extension from powerbank to the bike, do you have any idea?
When the bike is available again i will consider to buy one!

Wanneer komt de accupack uit voor de 5 serie?
Can I buy the Smart Cartridge?
Please just give us consistent quality :)

Who created this video? It’s really nice...
Is the power bank compatible with the s2?
It’s not

rather wait and hope for the s4.
with a clever replaceable battery in the bike frame
I would love to see a rear carrier with build in rear lights synced to the main frame.
Imagine if they got brighter as you break
Het blijft een kluts van 30 18650 cellen. 30x5,5€=165€. Beetje plastic en een chippie erbij. Wat kost ie bij jullie? 200€?
Is it known what type/company cells they use in their?

ok cool but what about a suspension on the bike (on the front and back tires)? A thick tire is btw not enough for a comfortable ride 😁
I think first you need to rise the quality standart of you´re bike. Bevor starting with accessory that will probably also have a lot of problems.
So I just purchased a power bank and now I have to buy another power bank when it comes out? Geez, but this is definitely needed.

I think the problem lies in the way the charging port recognizes an energy source

@@sebastiannielsen USB-C is capable of charging at 100W without modification. Which can totally charge 500Wh in a full day.
Or just do what Cowboy is already doing...make the main battery removable.... 🔥

You can definitely compare it the the older Vanmoofs.
But it looks very bulky and ugly in terms of design! Bike is sleek but this battery pack is not matching with the style of the bike
Atleast add an USB C slot to it
USB A you mean. Outside dirt and the 0.2mm spacing of USB-C contacts... No thank you.
Unimpressed... e-ped, the bastardization of the bicycle. Ugggggghhhhh.
Looks ugly - poor design.
