    Thank you. As for sewing sequin fabrics, work with the design of the fabric. If they fall into a seam, remove them before sewing. Hope that helps a little.

    This series is a lifesaver! Need a little help, though. After I've done the two rows of straight stitching between the motifs, and stitched the motifs down on the right side of the garment, what do I do about the seam allowance in the mesh area? Is that the purpose of the two rows, so as to cut very close to the stitching? I've looked at every lace applique seam technique on the net, and yours is, by far, the most helpful! You're a gifted teacher!

    • @colleenglea
      @colleenglea  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, cut close to the stitching. It's a delicate process make sure you take your time but the results will be worth it. Thank you for taking the time to comment Martha.

    Thank you so much for this video! 😁 this is a beautiful technique. I do have a question. Would you do a seam finish on the inside for the straight part you sewed? Or is it not necessary due to the net fabric

    • @colleenglea
      @colleenglea  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can do a seam finish, for example a closed seam. Thanks for commenting and your question Jenn B.

    question do you remove the net in between the label flowers or just on the edges

    • @colleenglea
      @colleenglea  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once you have placed the flowers in position, remove the required amount of netting, or just on the edges. The objective is to achieve a seam less look when joining. Thank you for commenting supernatural child of God.

    How do you handle seams in lace fabric where the motifs are further apart?

    • @colleenglea
      @colleenglea  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the motifs are further apart, you are probably better off using a french seam. The trick with working with lace is to have a continuous flow of the design in the fabric, so that you cannot see the seaming easily. But where there is large spaces between the motifs the best option is to sew beautiful french seams.
      Thank you for taking the time to comment Weston.
