Bob Seger is a great rock singer, songwriter & musician known for his raspy powerful voice. He wrote & recorded songs that dealt with love, women & blue-collar themes. "Turn The Page" is my favorite by him. But he had so many great songs especially in the 70's-80's such as "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man", "Night Moves", "Still The Same", "Hollywood Nights", "Against The Wind", "You'll Accomp'ny Me", "Shame On The Moon", "Mainstreet", "Roll Me Away", "Like A Rock", "Shakedown", "We've Got Tonight" & "Old Time Rock & Roll".
Can’t help but forget these iconic songs are new to you so awesome were they when they first graced the radio of years gone by and made history then as well as now and still soo timeless
I saw Bob Seger and SBB in August 1975. Their set opened with this song; a perfectly time spotlight revealed Alto Reed on a platform above the audience passionately playing the opening licks of Turn the Page. I was 15 and will never forget it. My friends and I all had 2 copies of “Live Bullet.” One on vinyl for the home stereo and another on cassette for the car. That album is one of the finest live recordings I have ever owned, excellent performance and great mix/sound quality. I still listen to it from time to time and have given my adult kids a copy of it. Really enjoyed this one, Sarah. Thank you.
One of my favorites by far, Night Moves is great as well, more about teenage life in the 60s and 70s which were wonderful times to be a young teenager, trust me I was there.
This song was released in 1973 before Bob reached national air play, fame or fortune ~ He had been been performing almost a decade, but still hadn't "made it" ~ He gigged on the road almost 300 nights/year, playing sometimes to a crowd of 20,000 at the Pontiac Silverdome one night, then a bar of 100 the next night ~ He earned the nicknamed "Road Warrior" and "King of Arena Rock" during those days ~ He had a strong regional fan base and airplay, but still striving for national airplay and making it big ~ 1976 proved to be the year with the release of both Live Bullet and Night Moves albums, followed closely by Stranger in Town album ~ And all at once, he was big!! I saw him live 13 times from 1977 to 2019, the last one just two weeks before his final retirement tour in Philly ~ IMO, Bob sounds as good or better live, although his studio albums are great too ~ Do yourself a musical favor and listen to Live Bullet from start to finish, it is till to this day considered one of the best live albums ever recorded.
Another fantastic reaction to one of the greatest singer/song writers!!!!! Thanks for this my dear you made my Saturday!!!!! Keep on keeping on!!!!! So says Austin TX!!!!!!
Had front row seats in the early 80s in San Antonio. That sax player had a single spotlight on him. It was magical. Bob Seger is not only one of the best singers of all time, he's also one of the best songwriters of all time. Fact.
This has been one of my favorite songs since I was a little kid. The alienation he feels from everyone, the exhilaration he exhibits on stage, the reluctance to share his personal life with strangers...this is the theme of my life.
Sarah, you heard storytelling/rock perfection. Turn The Page is on the top of my list. Road trips, or just feeling melancholy, it doesn't get much better. Thank you, again, for not stopping the video. Great review! Saw your chill bumps. Love deep music.
Loved Bob Seger back in the day, and the Silver Bullet Band too! This is my favourite of his songs and I am so pleased you got to hear it now too, Sarah! Great reaction, but then what else did we expect!??!
An iconic song by Bob Seger. This song is about life on the road, and the rigors musicians face when they're touring. It presents the other side of fame which the public doesn't see - the loneliness and aggravation. Seger wrote the song in what for him, was an unusual way. He told Music Connection: "I hardly ever wrote on the road. I was more of a field general, and there wasn't a lot of time for writing on the road back then. The only two songs that I can think of that I wrote on the road are 'Night Moves' and 'Turn The Page,' but those were basically cases of getting an outline of verses over three-hour periods. The songs weren't totally finished until I had a week or two off the road to really knuckle down on them." You nailed the meaning Sarah. Sarah, Metallica does a good cover of the song
It wasn't glamorous or very comfortable for musicians on the road in the 60s and 70s especially in a country the size of the United States. The musicians back then definitely earned their money.
Saw Bob back in 1978, unbelievable show & his Sax player was one of the best I've ever seen. The Sax player showed up in the middle of the crowd & spot lights hit him, crowd went crazy.
This has always been my Favorite song of his, and although I'm not a Rock Star😅, as a truck driver I can relate to the long hours on the road and everyday turning the page in a new city with a new adventure. Thanks for this. It is always nice to see you appreciate a great song.
Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues For You - It is a great song with a great guitar player and that guitar rift will stay with you in your mind. I am sure you will have the same reaction as you did with - Turn The Page. - Gary really makes that guitar "cry". There are 2 live versions. Pick either one It was my ring tone for several years until I changed it to the 2nd impression of Karn Evil 9 Which is all great piano and no words
Love that video. You can feel his journey. Pouring out love through his music to strangers while loved ones remain at home. Nice reaction. That line hit me too when I first heard it too. It's a bittersweet song.
Considering I live in central Iowa this song has a deeper meaning. Des Moines is on that stretch of road east of Omaha and I've traversed I-80 thousands of times in my life.
The sax was played by Alto Reed, who played sax with Bob for years and years and years. He passed recently, recently being kind of imprecise thing for an old guy like me. This is one Bob's many great songs, from the Live Bullet album (74ish?) which is what broke him nationally after being a local/regional act for very long time.
Sarah, no one ever reacts to Toad The Wet Sprocket. Amazing band from the 90s. They have great set list including Walk on the ocean, Fall down and Somethings always wrong. You should check them out.
Alto Reed sax player, the goat! RIP
OMG Bob Seger that's one of my favorite songs .

Always seemed to me that he wrote primarily about being a guy, from boy to man.
Against the Wind is another beautiful song by Bob.
Great song Bob seger is a legend.
The single version of ‘Turn the Page’ is one of my fav songs EVER. And I’ve been listening to it since 1976. Alto Reed on sax is SO good.

I didn't know I needed a little Bob Seger. Great song!

Great original American rocker. I owned this double vinyl record back in nineteen seventy damn two!
One of many, many great songs by Bob Seger!

All time great song
you might like Boz Skaggs, Lowdown. It's an award winning song that surprisingly few people know.
Lowdown has aged well. Always a good listen.
Bob doesn't have a bad song. Night moves, Ramblin gambling man, so many

Bob Seger's music is timeless as well as his story-telling in his songs. I don't think that Bob has ever recorded a song that I didn't like.
