Ever since I learned that the Girl team (specifically Mike Carroll) were jealous of Tom Penny, I have no respect for any of them. Carroll sounds like a douche bag who holds a lot of cards in the industry, and some of the skaters who ride for Girl have been flexing that power for a long time. It's disgusting when peoples' egos go too far. Tom Penny is still the best skater ever imo, as much as Mike Carroll doesn't like to admit it.
Carol Worked hard to get where he was ,the whole Girl thing was a massive step that supported and grew skating, He set a lot of people up for 20 year careers, when kids were getting picked up and dumped in 3 years. I has nothing to do with whose best, its about keeping the industry going because it dies quickly Carroll holds the cards because he worked hard for them, (BTW Crail doesnt hold all the cards)
@@nickhilbert750 What does any of that have to do with him being a scumstache in trying to tear down a new up and comer? Dudes wouod straight boo him at contests. Carrol is fake as hell.
these are just rumors. you're making this sound like Elvis being scared of the Beatles or some shit. I think all the Cali pros were just blown away by Penny but not intimidated he was going to harm their careers. That's way overblown. Plus, Carroll is dope -- street skating legend and Tom Penny and all the UK dudes would say the same - they were influenced by him. so chill
When I was 7-8 I was gifted the Sight Unseen VHS tape and watched it probably everyday for a year. I still skate, but haven't been keeping up with skaters much. Seeing Henry Sanchez' name brought me back memories. Very underrated skater. His Sight Unseen part : th-cam.com/video/60C5eK8Sm2Y/w-d-xo.html
Damn this shit was weighing heavy on henry. I never knew about any of it but it sounds like he destroyed his relationship with everyone and he's been watching from the sidelines ever since.
If that is the biggest fuck up he has made then he has lived pretty angelic life. In hindsight we could have all put a thousand bucks into bit coin ten years ago and be millionaires but we didn't know that and neither did he know girl would become huge
@@vancouverbill I more meant from the perspective of being 17 and suddenly you alienate yourself from your entire friend group and it doesn't sound like he really stayed in touch with most of them. @@supernewuser yeah that's true, I was thinking about it in the sense of opportunity lost to be in one of the biggest teams in skate history but being cut off from your closest relationships at 17 is just as rough
You have to make koston take accountability too, why did he open his mouth??? I'll tell you why he opened his mouth ...the person Henry was talking about that wanted to give him the company was Rocco, and at that time Rocco was the enemy to Girl skateboards
It sounded like they were kids and just lacked that maturity and guidance to handle the situation professionally. You have to think skateboarding as a whole especially around that time probably lacked a lot of leadership. Take Muska and his tax situation for example, just a bunch of kids running around with a lot of money all from skateboarding? It's a wonder most of them didn't end up worse!
If Koston was friend of both, and only he, Henry and the one who make the offer know it, he could have manage it better. Sorry, Ok, they were kids. So maybe he can fix it now.
I understand dealing with a lot of fans and being in the spotlight.. I met Carrol for a night, dudes negative energy. BB and Foster are the shit the tho.
Since I’m first I’d like to let people know the Henry is the real GOAT Before Marc before PJ before almost all of the goats of street skateboarding. He should be looked at in the similar light as Daewon or Rodney. In the 90s out here in Boston we didn’t even think of Rodney in any manner. Goes like this Guy Gall Mark and Marc and Cardiel Henry kalis stevie daewon Young Then like Cory Duffel and like Marissa Delsanto Jim Greco Andrew Reynolds PJ then me because I’m me and I do like looking at me. Also let’s not forget Huf Gino and I guess I could go on forever. The point is Henry really was the best and should be taken care of by skateboarding forever same as everyone else on this list of street skaters
skaters can be mean you know these were his best friends so i mean should not have taken it so hard but then again who am i to know what he was thinking
Put Henry on Girl now!😂 I would ride his board!
Put Ben on nine club
Ben on the 9! Yes
Ben for the nine club!
Henry on Girl and Ben on the Nine Club, Sounds good to me!! 😆
Ben on the nine club, yes!

Always, hes my favorite dude on here next to Steezus and of course Roger
@@kryptichands968 Jeron is the man, but Steezus doesn't contribute shit.
Poor Kelly is the punching bag.😂
Yeah, Jeron became the wise old man.
FASCINATING ! After all the up’s and downs of the world Henry remains a gentleman and a legend.
Sanchez is a stand up guy. Much respect!!!

I don't think everyone was jealous. Guy was in one of his Sorry parts for a trick or two.

Man, that's a tough story. Hope Carroll forgives him
his Real board with the kid holding the crayon was my all time favorite board, loved that shape
Henry RULES.
G¡rl and Cholate was always two of my all time favorite companies... of course there more but...
Imagine how different things could have been then if Koston wasn’t on Girl
My guess is that it was deluxe who told em "get koston & the company will be yours"

He seems like tool, even though he was right on what he said about MJ, who is also a tool.
In other words never hesitate
HENRY SANCHEZ WAS SICK AS FUCK I HAD THE 101 terminator slick board thanks Henry🤟
Swank’d?
Revisiting this after listening to Markovich this week makes me wonder…
Jerons IG link is messed up
Get him on Girl right now! Time heals all.
why is chris' mic like that? sounds all blown up. bass is way too high. and its only his mic
