People like Henry Sanchez should never be struggling. People love skating but they don't even know who helped shaped it into what it is today. Henry is one off those dudes. He should forever have boards, shoes and at least enough money to get by where he doesn't have to work a job.

And this was in 1991!!! Like a year before Pack of Lies!! Like everyone knows about Pack of Lies and whatnot but, oh my God, the stuff he did when the cameras weren't on was just insane!!

1:15:20 An idea could be to crowdfund Henry's video part. Put up a goal amount to raise (his entire year's salary) to give him 12 months to film a video part. If you've ever been inspired by Henry or want to acknowledge his contribution and innovation to skateboarding - then make a small or large donation. This way, companies, and corporations can make public donations. If you're in your 30s or 40's you want to see these legends skateboarding and ripping again. Obviously, there would be a percentage of skateboarders outraged by someone trying to crowdfund for a video part, but who cares. Make a documentary series on the process and build-up of leaving a safe, comfortable job to fulfill a dream of unrealized potential - and the challenges of skateboarding in your 40's. End the series with the video part premiere. For the storyline alone, this should be an easy pitch for a brand partnership with a massive corporate company that wants permission to market to skateboarders? If Gary Vaynerchuk ever wanted to win over the skateboarding community, I know a guy...

I remember Ocean Howell showing up in the middle of YMCA Visalia with Pack of Lies, which had just come out that week. Jeron had been there with the Real team as their newest am but I'm not sure whether they were there that night. We all watched POL probably 15 times in a row in the mess hall and kids couldn't believe what they were seeing. I watched everything Henry did when he'd show up at Embarco, and I didn't know how to explain to these people that as good as that footage was, he was already advancing beyond it. Absolutely insane how far ahead of the curve he was. I don't think I've ever sen the Nine Club guys as nervous and geeking out as much they are here.

Prior to that contest, we would occasionally skate EMB on the weekends but I never recognized Henry skating there but I remember Kamau and Karl….. but as we kept continuing skating EMB on the weekends after that contest we would see Henry, Carroll and Javontae, Karl, Wing Ding skating the Blocks ripping shit up and then a year or 2 later you would see Drake, Dan Drehobl Scott Johnston Huf skate there…but yeah Henry was like years ahead of everybody there and blew up and year later got on blind….I remember Santa Cruz came out with everslick boards and when Henry got on blind, Steve Rocco started making everslick boards after and I traded a Santa Cruz board my homie sold $20 and I would trade it for the Henry Sanchez Terminater graphic board

I was 14 when Sight Unseen came out. Everything about Henry’s part was light years ahead of its time. The 3rd and Army lines to this day are incredible (tre flip 5-0, manny varial heel, Nollie flip front tail) and the classic bangin Inward Heel off the loading dock 🤯

I was on tour with Henry. He was an amazing skateboarder and absolutely loved his video parts and then to be on tour with him many years ago as part of a faze 7 tour of the UK that they organised with Alvin Singfield was in charge and changed my mind of him totally. It was a classic case of never meet you hero's. He was the most demanding obnoxious diva ive ever met. He treated Alvin like a piece of shit and generally acted like a spoilt child for the whole trip. I just sat there in the back in complete shock and that experience never left me because I was gutted that the guy I looked up to as an amazing skateboarder (which he is) could be so nasty to someone I respected a lot. That Tim & Henry video was one of the best videos ive ever seen still to this day. I guess we've all grown up now but unfortunately my first encounter with him was such a negative experience. Apart from that I wish him all the best.

Sure he would feel bad about it now. Think about it, his ego would of been out of control from a young age with a bunch of 'enablers' the same age around him. No excuse for that behavior though, ever...

OH DAMN! Crail please put Henry on so we can see what he can do. As someone in their 40s I love seeing
40 year old pros ripping street... Look at Guy, Chico etc ripping. Skating is aging gracefully and is no longer about 16 year olds. Generations deserve generational heroes. I get 100% more out of watching a 45 year old kickflip on flat than a 22 year hard flip down a 15 set.

90’s skateboarding was so good and Henry definitely made a huge impact with his fast, tech skating-NBD’s. Too bad about the Girl thing, but like he said, it’s motivating him now which is so sick! I’m 46 now with 2 kids and a full time job for the past 27 years and he’s inspiring me to get on my board (about 10-15 sessions for me in the past 8 years). Keep ripping Henry🤘

David Bowie was asked, "You manage your own corporation at this point of your career, doesn't being a business man get in the way of your art? In which he replied "No, I had to become a better BUSINESS man in order to become a better ARTIST"
Now apply that model to Skating, who are the most successful skaters? This is a cautionary tale about making the right business decisions, Henry Sanchez could have been one of the all time greats, surpassing P-Rod, Koston, Mariano and Stevie, put together, let that sink in.
