I will definitely go with the ASUS A1 Enclosure very soon. I like the ability to change the SSD inside. I usually edit my current project on my PC, and I back up in real time on a secondary drive. That ASUS A1 will be a much better choice and it's crazy fast.
Most of my raw videos are recorded in 17M and 24M with 1080p 25fps as my standard, Because the size wasn’t take space much like 4K or 8K. All of my raw videos and everything are stored in a SSD and some are in my laptop’s SSD.
Hey! That's great! If you managed to have all of your files like that it’s great :) Mine are a little bit bigger and I also have some archives from clients work… it's a pretty big archive :)
@@GabrielVIP Mine is 1TB and 512GB on my laptop. The 1TB is full of my stuff that I have including some school archives, My drawings and almost everything that I keep.
If you want an even faster external ssd enclosure, there are a new class of enclosures using a new USB4 chip. They cost a lot, like close to 100 euros but they'll do just over 3GB/s read and write. I'm considering ordering the Graugear one.
I’m looking for something with a large storage capacity that I can just use for backups to put in the closet, does not need to be fast just cheap reliable and large storage space
I had 6 of them and never had problems. I think it's important how you use them. If you drop them… I don’t know. I use my HDDs with carefully and all of them are working perfectly.
Excellent video!! I used your link to the Enclosure, but it doesn’t work with iOS from the sounds of it. I have an old Macbook Pro and a 2022 iPad Pro. 😢
Apropos the T9, keep in mind that it is only faster than a t7 when plugged into a 'usb 3.2 gen 2x2' port which is actually a very specific / unique port that is rarely seen on any device. No apple computer of any kind is compatible and very few windows laptops have it. So paying extra for the t9 is a waste of money.
I am in the stone age but would like to start creating content. Can I transfer videos from an old iphone 11 to the Western Digital external drive? How about Chrome Book..does it work with that? I think for my first question I would need an adapter and a usb hub?? I love your channel btw..I thought I was already subscribed! Just did :)
Hey! Yes, you can. But do you want to transfer it directly? Without a computer? I never did that. If you use a computer you can, 100%, Without a computer I am not sure. I need to check.

Good choice! That build is really fast :) Plus the ability to change the SSD, it's just perfect :)
Great choice of affordable external drives.... well done Gabriel, great advice, very practical....👍👍👍
Thank you, thank you, thank you :) Do you use external drives?
When archiving to WD or LaCie consider redundancy: make a backup of each one because drives do fail! I use SuperDuper! for this purpose.
Luckily I had no problems until now and I hope I will never have. But a backup for a backup is always good 😁
Nice, I've started looking into ways to edit externally, great timing
Glad I could help! With a great SSD, you won't be disappointed :)
I have recycled my nvme storage from my old laptop and now I use it in an enclosure best thing I have ever done
Yes! An NVME in a great enclosure is something extremely powerful 😁🙋🏻♂️

Great system you mentioned things I would not think about. Thank you
Glad it has been helpful :)

Hey! Thank you :) I will check it out! I am curious :D

Hey! I think that the Western Digital 4 TB will be perfect for that. I use one and it's great :)
I've heard a lot of bad things about the Lacie drives. I heard they fail all the time? Is that true?
I had 6 of them and never had problems.

What are your thoughts on the Samsung 990?
Hey! It’s great but sometimes the price is high 😁
Thanks for the response!
LOVE ITTTTTT
Thank you, my friend :)
Don't use HDD at all, USE SSD'S
Hey! To edit yes! To archive for a long time it is safer on HDD. And also... at least for me, to archive on SSD... is too expensive 😁
No HDD is the best for NAS. Sdd are just crazy expensive and not worthy
