Now that Steve is in the game, the only other character I would lose my mind over would be Phoenix Wright. I go around liking anything that says he is likely for smash haha
He’s definitely one of the biggest Capcom reps we could get.

But yeah think about it pheonix in the game would be so much easier for nintendo since nintendo would allready know what skins and what spirits there are going to be, what spirits i think will be in is edgeworth, maya, gumshoe, mia, larry, apollo and athena. Spirits that could be possible are godot, manfred von karma, franziska von karma and probably winston payne, but i'm not sure. For one of the skins it could be naruhodou, pheonix's ancestor.
@@vikinggamer7727 dude you know what would be badass to the max? Have phoenix wright as a character with Edgeworth as an echo. Phoenix' alts are all the lawyers in the series, whilst edgeworth's alts are all the prosecutors. I would actually lose my mind if they did this.

@@ToadTendo I think that had a lot to do with the timing of when that video was released. We did the Animal Crossing tier list right around the time New Horizons came out, so I guess we just got lucky. I was honestly shocked at how many views that video got since I am such a small channel, but it was really fun reading through all the comments.
Good vid. I needed this. My own idea was that maybe scorpion could get in but since he’s pretty gory and he’s in his own game on the switch I feel he will be looked over.
If Phoenix Wright and Hat Kid gets into Smash, I could literally die happy.

Steve, Pyra (and Rex sort of), and Sephiroth are all on this list. This is actually looking very accurate.
To be fair there are 100 characters on the list, so we were bound to get some of them right. But nobody predicted Sephiroth in our individual predictions.

Oddworld : Abe's Odyssey was one of my first video-game and the Oddworld franchise is still one of my favorite franchises of all time now with Katamari (of course :p blessed be the Prince !) and Mario Galaxy, but Abe is clearly extremely unlikely.
For Waluigi, I don't really want him to be playable. Wario is here but he has his franchises (Wario Land, Wario Ware) unlike Waluigi, so he is at the right place in his own tier because people want him still. The assist trophy remains the best for Waluigi in my opinion

It's sad that they don't add an assist trophy in addition to the stage and music ! There would have been so much to do so far with the characters from new franchise introduced to Smash, there, we could have had a creeper with Steve for example

By the way, they took out a lot of assist trophies which were cool on Brawl, I think for example of Kurukuri Kururin or even Excitebike which were super original

What I regret in Smash Bros is the Zelda license, I'm not a fan of the Zelda franchise but it's a shame to have 3 Link who are alike in gameplay while there are many characters

Oh yeah same. Steve and a Xenoblade 2 rep were definitely on my radar, but I did not see Sephiroth coming at all. I’m very happy with his inclusion though because he’s a super iconic villain and helped round out the FFVII content.
@@smashingsalmon I’ll have you guess : how many of the final 2 characters do you think will be 3rd party ?
I’m kinda thinking both of them will be third party. The only first party character I think could get is a Pokémon rep, so if we do see another first party fighter, it will probably be a gen 8 Pokémon.
So Spencer is only one who predicted Steve but curious to see who wins in the end.
My picks would be:
Rex & Pyra / Professor Layton / Pokémon Rep. / Geno
Nightmare picks:
Jibanyan (cause rip Layton if that’s so) / Fire Emblem Rep. (love FE but no more for now) / Tracer / Sora (cause I could see him break the no video game rule and I like that rule)
Spencer is a prophet. Also you definitely have some good picks there. Although I’m kinda unsure about a Pokémon rep because the DLC comes out so soon.
@@smashingsalmon True but since Smash DLC was delayed Steve would've probably been planned for E3 and so the next rep could be Pokémon which would've conceded with the Crown Tundra since I think Pokémon announced their DLC plans before lockdown and that wasn't delayed at all.
I'm not looking forward to it but I just feel it's gonna happen...
Yeah I could still see it happening. I wouldn’t be too hyped for the character itself, but a lot of the DLC characters have had wild movesets and I think Sakurai could work his magic and make the fighter interesting.
My wishlist:
Very likely: Phoenix Wright
Probably not happening: TF2 rep (Scout/Heavy/Soldier?)
Extremely unlikely: Marvel rep (Iron Man/Spider-Man maybe?)
Already said to not happen: Hat Kid :(

You're missing one piece of the puzzle for cut base game characters because of time constraints and it's Octoling (Playable) and no it doesn't have to be an Inkling echo. Octoling came out in June 2018 the year when characters for Ultimate were shown. In my opinion they should be considered too.
I'm not so sure if Octoling was a cut base game character because I don't recall them ever being mentioned by Sakurai, whereas an ARMS rep and Rex were both explicitly mentioned. I'd be down for Octoling in some form but I don't know if they'd be a DLC pick.
@@smashingsalmon While sure he has not mentioned about them. It's more like the character was out very close to Ultimate's release it was probably overlooked in my opinion but he does acknowledge their existence through spirits and there's not even soundtrack from Octo Expansion. They are likely in my opinion, popularity of them has increased over the last few years. The most likely reason why they didn't make it base game is because Sakurai didn't want to give spoilers for the Octo Expansion but now two years have gone by and I think now is a better time to release them
why can i see alot of these characters as Assist trophies like Ai Ai can roll around crashing or burrowing opponents in his path, angry birds is kinda self explainable, baldi i can barely see but i can see it.
If you talk about Assist trophy’s, than you have to talk about shadow. The rest of the characters with Shadow are probably getting in smash. Shadow and Waluigi are the Assist trophy’s that might get into Super smash bros ultimate

I personally want Elma over Rex and Pyra. I like her design more, she’s from a really good game that can be a cross promotion for a switch port, and she’s a person of color. She’s also in a same place Min Min was. Few spirits, no music, no stage. They brought ARMS back so same thing could happen for Elma. Also Impa is my most wanted.

Porky is easily one of my most wanted characters. I love EarthBound to death and having some more villain representation would be amazing.

It would be the perfect excuse to include actual EarthBound battle music in Smash too. I can’t believe we don’t already have Sanctuary Guardian and Porky Means Business.
@@smashingsalmon Honestly, right? It’s just so jarring to see him gone and a lack of more Earthbound content in Ultimate. That’s why I have a glimmer of hope for Porky’s inclusion. The 30th anniversary already happened, there’s no better time then now to put him in.
I think Aiai would make a great assist trophy.
I’d be happy with any Super Monkey Ball representation, but yeah Ai Ai would probably make a better assist trophy than playable character.

I don’t think that there will ever be a new Smash game. This is the Ultimate game after all. I think that they’ll just port this game over to the next console and put extra dlc.

Wow you guys didn't even give Kos-mos a chance, you just glanced over her like she was nothing and threw her into extremely unlikely.
I just feel like Kos-mos is in a weird spot being a Xeno rep when Rex and Pyra are also in the conversation. I haven’t played any of the Xenosaga games, but I’m totally down for her inclusion in Smash. Plus I think another Namco rep is pretty likely.
@@smashingsalmon Well as a Xenosaga fan I can safely say Kos-mos is not in a weird spot. She's Namco's cross-over character appearing in a total of 20 games since 2002. Rex has already been de-confirmed as a fighter since he's already a mii costume. It's also very likely that Lloyd will be returning as a Mii costume as well since it's cheaper and faster to just renew his contract then it is to negotiate for a new one.
I honestly had no idea Kos-mos appeared in that many games. I don’t think Rex is entirely deconfirmed; Sakurai said he wanted Rex in the base game but the timing wasn’t right, which is why a Rex costume was added. Rex and an ARMS rep weren’t in the base game for the same exact reason, and now that we have an ARMS rep, I think Rex is very likely.
As for the Lloyd costume, I feel like he has a good shot at being upgraded to playable if he was important enough to be added as a costume in Smash 4 to begin with. Plus the Tales Of series is pretty popular in Japan to my knowledge.
Kos-mos would still be an awesome edition to the roster, though. I’d also love to see remakes of Xenosaga on Switch at some point because I’ve been meaning to play Monolith Soft’s other games.
@@smashingsalmon Well to show that I'm not lying about the games I'm almost done editing together my evolution of Kos-mos video which will be showing all 20 games and some other media. I'm leaving out the merchandise there is way to much to count.
I wouldn't count on Rex getting upgraded to a fighter, I've never seen a Mii fighter become an official fighter in the same game, why waste the money and development time making the same character twice. Company's are also aloud to say no to a characters inclusion in favor of another character and this may be the case for Rex. Monolith and Namco may not have been interested in Rex.
For Lloyd I feel it's the same thing as Rex, he's coming back as a mii costume. Out of the original 30 mii costumes from smash 4 25 of them have returned leaving only 5 remaining of those 5 we have Lloyd, Geno, Chocabo and 2 monster hunter costumes and with 4 fighters remaining it's very likely that we will get one costume per fighter along with new character as a Mii costume.
I had to go back and watch your video again to double check something. That sudden spark of interest in Kos-mos didn't come out of no ware, it was caused by a mysterious take down by Nintendo of a fan made trailer for a Kos-mos mod under a copyright claim of Mario Kart of all things. This happened back in March of 2019, 9 months before the second fighters pass was reveled. The only question I have for that is why?
Yeah I know there were a lot of Kos-mos rumors towards the end of last year too. They’ve mostly died down recently from what I can tell but there’s also not a lot of rumors going around anyway.
