Ear tags are for ownership purposes (dif. tag for each family/owner), those reindeers aren't wild people. I mean they have more freedom than moo moo's.

To my surprise, no. I was blessed with good weather the whole way, about 10-15deg at night and 20-25deg during the day

It's pretty good actually, I don't think I've ever not had any.
