I don’t collect them, but I find them easy and familiar to turn around. I usually get 10-18 hp 1960s ish outboards for under $100. After ordering parts (usually $80) I can get them running reliably in only a few hours. Once I show them running in a video, they usually sell for $300-400. Makes for a good video too!
You need a set of metal pin punches, that’s a nail set?
Thanks for reminding me. I now have one on the way from Amazon.
And yes it was a nail set 🙃
First thing I did,was to through away the side cover....
Yeah it’s kind of a PITA to take off and reinstall. I thought it was kinda useless too.
Do you collect 18hp Evinrudes? I noticed a couple in the background. The engine looks like an air cooled techumseh.

And yes, it is an air cooled 2 stroke techumseh.
Had a air cooled outboard once might of been a eska, it had Ted Williams on it maybe Montgomery Wards?
Probably, I think a lot of those engines were made by the same company but would get different badges.
I have the same one ! I ve taken it apart one thousand times.!!!! She's a handful !
