When Charlie starts the "chorus" those lines he says are actually the names of Bluegrass songs that he plays little snippets of each song (fire on the mountain,, house of the rising sun, chicken in bread pan picking out dough, and granny does your dog bite, are all old songs
He's done that reaction a couple of times. He's fascinated with Charley. This is the second order third time he's shared it with his fellow rappers❤ They all are blown away❤❤❤
The devil whispered in my ear " you're not strong enough to withstand the storm." I whispered back "at least I didn't lose my golden fiddle to some hillbilly in Georgia 😅😅😅
haha but not all of us are hillbillys even tho I have lived in north Georgia for 52 yrs, I am just a old skool kuntry boy & Johnny gave me the fiddle as a goodwill gesture ✌💖☮
When I met my husband, we were going on one of our first dates and this came on in the taxi taking us to a restaurant for dinner and we discovered that we both loved this song, and we’re Australian!! Not normally our type of music but how can you not love this song???
BP, I love when you show your rap fans this 45 year old song. Then they say " hes rapping". By the way, you drinking out of your jug and, dancing around, made me laugh. Looked like you were slapping your knee while drinking out of a jug of moonshine. very old country of you!!!!! Lol.
When Johnny plays the fiddle in the song. Those lyrics are actual different fiddle songs. Chicken in the bread pan, granny does your dog bite, and house of the rising sun. It was Charlie's way of paying respect to the greats of the fiddle
@@troysemrau3654 He wasn't serving, but Daniels was touring with the USO through the 1960s. He did indeed go to Nam, just supporting combat soldiers rather than being one.
🇬🇧 Its great that you keep getting your friends to teact to "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". I remember when you first reacted to it on your own, that was an awesome reaction BP. Thank you for keeping Charlie Danniels on everybody's lips/minds. RIP Charlie, you will never be forgotten ❤
This might be my third or fourth viewing of your reaction to this song (I might have a problem myself) and I absolutely love that you are introducing this song to so very many people, keep it up dear Pegasus!
It is definitely a great song with an awesome story,a human fiddler battling with the devil and winning and kind of banishing him! I was a kid and I always thought that was so cool 😎!!❤❤. Glad you guys love it! Glad you love sharing it with others, thanks BP!❤❤
You all should do an episode on the history of Rap music….. it actually dates back to the late 70’s and at the time was considered a spoken word poetry that also included a beat or rhythm. FYYYYYYYYRRRRR FROM CHARLIE AND THE BAND!!! 💯😊R.I.P ☹CHARLIE, YOU'LL NEVERRRR BE FORGOTTEN! THANKS FOR ALLLLLL THE SUPPORT YOU GAVE TO THE TROOPS THROUGH THE YEARS!👍TAKE GREAT CARE ROBERT!
My first concert was Charlie Daniels Band at the Cincinnati Gardens in the early 1970's. There was a live buffalo and a Texas steer on platforms on each side of the stage. It's still one of the best concerts that I've been to. They definitely know how to put on a show.
Peg, as a Nashville native, it really warms my heart seeing you get so hype for TRUE country. Everyone for decades bashed Nashville and country music. Its really great seeing people like you and other rappers embrace it so warmly. Keep up the good work man.
This was known as square dance music Where they'd sing the moves of the dances Look up square dance music quite often use fidle as singer Cheers guys 🦘🇦🇺👍
There is two kinds of Hoedowns the first kind is a cook out in Texas. The other is The oldest professional girl from the that's been canceled ( Bang Bang ).
Macon reppin! I been in Warner Robins for 6 yrs now but grew up in Covington 1973-1998 (home of the Dukes of Hazzard) ! Seen many great bands over the decades...Lynyrd Skynyrd, CDB, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Mothers Finest, Molly Hatchet, 38 Special, Black Crows, Drivin N Cryin, Jackyl, Georgia Satillites, B52s & of course the Allman Brothers plus countless others between the Omni, Lakewood Amphitheater, 6 Flags, Fox Theater & going to Athens for the college scene in the late 70s & 80s with the new wave coming out & dippin down towards Macon to catch whatever was going on seeing shows wherever even going to Memphis (love some Bourbon St) & Muscle Shoals (great place)
This is a good example of why I think first time reactors should have the lyrics to the song they are reacting to. Because it sounds to me like Anthony Ray thinks that when Charlie sings "...and he pulled that bow across the strings and it made an evil hiss..." Anthony Ray seems to think Charlie is referring to a Bow and Arrow.
Waylon Jennings was in the same crowd, originally playing with Buddy Holly until the plane crash, Jennings was an "Outlaw" renegade country, who crossed over about the same time as Johnny Cash did, the one thing they all shared in common was they felt the rock hall of fame, and the country music hall of fame etc. all wanted to keep the same types of genere of music selected for a particular artist or group, and not allow them to cross over into other generes. Like Hank Williams Jr. was expected to carry on "The Family Tradition", and in a way he did indeed do what his daddy did, drink alcohol, and party just going wild.
Charlie Daniel’s was country rock before there was country rock he’s the og Another one of North Carolinas famous sons from Whitevile NC a small town outside of Wilmington close to that other famous guy MJ A great live band better in concert Saw them in Charlotte at the then called outdoor palladium in 1979 I was 11 and it was one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen There were no noise decibel level restrictions in those days the show was on Sunday night and my ears were still ringing the following Wednesday and the venue was outdoors so it was a great time to see a live show
That sound in the horror movies was from a theremin. An electronic instruments in 1920s and used in many horror movies as it has an eerie sound very close to the fiddle sound in this performance.
Anthony Ray is talking about a theremin which is used in old horror and Sci-Fi movies but it's also used in psychedelic music the one I can think of off the top of my head is Good vibrations by the Beach boys
Love your videos bro. Highly recommend Iyah May, Karmageddon. She's an aussie singer who just got her contact canceled, because she wouldn't change the lyrics! Great song to start the year off! God bless brother 🙏
So I know this is in a totally different lane. So the final boss battle in Guitar Hero 3 was a battle with the devil playing The Devil went down to Georgia. It would be awesome to see your reaction to one of those videos. I loved this reaction btw. Watching how giddy you were just knowing what was coming was great.
Love your reaction to this song. My first swear song was the album to GREASE. (Yeah, I’m old). My mom would scream at me whenever I played it and sang the dirty lyrics. Good times!
Charlie Daniels is a rebel all the way. He's got some songs about rolling that smoke, some songs about independence, and a lot of songs about the strange things that happen in the wilderness. Fiddle is a centerpiece for a lot of bluegrass, and bluegrass is FAST AS F! Check out "Nine Pound Hammer" for a good example. There's an instrument called a theremin that's used to create some really eerie sounds. Check it out.
Before there was rap there were patter songs: "The patter song is characterised by a moderately fast to very fast tempo with a rapid succession of rhythmic patterns in which each syllable of text corresponds to one note. ... The lyric of a patter song generally features tongue-twisting rhyming text, with alliterative words and other consonant or vowel sounds that are intended to be entertaining to listen to at rapid speed." There's really nothing new under the sun.
Charlie Daniels is legendary (may he rest in peace). The song derives from the legend that Robert Johnson (a mediocre guitar player) sold his soul at a crossroads in return for guitar mastery.
I love it when you introduce anyone to CDB = Charlie Daniels Band , Devil Went Down To Georgia. Would also love to see you introduce them to AC DC, Thunderstruck. Also want to see you react to Edgar Winter Group, "Frankenstein"
When Charlie starts the "chorus" those lines he says are actually the names of Bluegrass songs that he plays little snippets of each song (fire on the mountain,, house of the rising sun, chicken in bread pan picking out dough, and granny does your dog bite, are all old songs
ty I didn't know that😁
I knew the first 2 but not the rest, TY.
Too funny!! This song never gets old, even though it is OLD! Charlie Daniels could attract the crowds!
The difference between a violin and a fiddle is the way its played and the Sound. The Greatest fiddle player was Charlie Daniels ❤ God rest his soul.
This Never gets old!!! R.I.P. Charlie
This is called BLUEGRASS. The love child of Scots- Irish traditional music and the Blues .

My favorite saying when asked about the difference between a fiddle player and a violin player...it's about a $1000 a gig.

I LOVE how much you enjoy sharing this song with your friends and getting their reactions.. you’re awesome!!
My dad knew Charlie for 45 years after they both got back from Vietnam. I grew up backstage at most of these shows lol. RIP Big Daddy 🤘🏻🔥🍻

Finally somebody that sees the potential of these old songs being remixed for hip hop! Bring them back to life guys! :)
They've never died
Why would they want to ruin a perfect song ?
Strings and strangs, Charles plays the violin, Charlie plays the fiddle! REST IN peace Charlie Daniels, foreve4 remembered remembered!
This is what I heard. A violin has strings and a fiddle has strangs.
RIP Charlie. One of the good guys.
I could watch you share this over and over. Love the song, performance and your reactions.
I think he's broken the record of a reactor sharing one song❤
@@sandralybrand9425 It gets him paid

I totally relate to the swearing in a song as a kid! For me, it was Bad, Bad Leroy Brown! 😂❤🎉
