- It doesn't happen often but occasionally you have highly lucrative days or nights metal detecting. This was one of them. I easily pull more than $2500 dollars in with my @MinelabDetecting Manticore and Honey Badger Beach Scoop. The beach was absolutely loaded with treasure! Among the treasures was items from @gucci and @cartier .

If you keep up the advertising of big scores on the beach you might find the beach looking like a Put Put Golf course with detectorists one day, it's not like you are in a sparsely populated area you know.
24:20 Some stainless steel is ferro magnetic some isn’t! There are hundreds of types of stainless steel👍
Privileged to have a teacher such as yourself sharing his knowledge about a craft that he is passionate about.
Honored Toni! Thank you!
WOW!! Your detailed description of the whole metaldetecting experience made me realise that its a lifelong passion for you 😊 good on yer, mate ( thats English for well done, old chap) keep at it ,Sir.
Cheerio lad!
Hey. I want to thank you for your videos. I'm new to detecting, using a Xterra. I live in NC, and I detect at Wrightsville Beach mostly. I've been learning your tips. In the past three trips, I've found a gold ring, an emerald silver ring, and a $1000 black sapphire ring. This is all thanks to you. I enjoy your videos, but I mostly turn them off when I get too jealous. Ha!
You are the king of beach detecting. I'm in FL and my grandson and I went detecting today on 2 different beach locations and not even a penney. We use a Vanquish 440 and a Makro Gold Kruzer.
I love my manticore. They had to ship it to me while we were in Hawaii last week. It paid for itself in two hunts. I found four pieces of gold plus two perfect pairs of sunglasses. Persol’s priced at $515 and Oakleys Priced at $350. Did I mention that I LOVE the Manticore???
You mentioned it Kristi!
I am a first timer to your channel. I follow the Hoover boys, green mountain with brad, nugget noggin and hillsdale boys! Now I’ll add your channel to the fun!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! :)
I keep watching these legendary video’s for one the Manticore is being humbled by your touch a golden combo but first of all wth thats a unreal loaded beach apart from you editing the rap out of it amazing style and thank you Merrill these were the days ❤
Some stainless can be magnetic, depending on the alloy
Yup for sure
Great hunt Merryl. This is why we are addicted to this hobby , even going out in the rain. One day it's bottle caps and the next it's raining targets.
Yes!
Awesome Merrill, you've had a wonderfull night. Love your videos (and humor). Sushiiiiiii 😂 Looking forward to your next beach hunt.
Thanks so much!!
Rockin it once again. N.t. nor cal ,CA the gold country.
Fridge magnet, the horse shoe with the magnet 🧲 on, think you was having use on 🤣🤣 what a night, don’t get many nights finding so much bling 💍 and so many goody’s, well done 😎😎😎😎😎
😁
killed it Merill ! it’s all Gucci 🏴☠️🤠✌️
Yessir!
Refrigerator magnet☺️. Great video. Thank you for sharing.
Hey bro! I believe the horse-shoe magnet is used for holding written messages onto your refrigerator as a reminder. Nice, nice ring, a way to go-ld! Thanks for sharing your interesting finds of the night!!! I love the coinage. Enjoy your Haagen Dazs, I'm going to enjoy mine!!! I had fun and good laughs. Keep up the great work big guy!!! signed, Greg the Egg.
Thank you Greg!
Merrill glad you found gold and silver. I too have found the upper (top) of the slope great targets. I dug silver coins, half dollars (2 ea) quarters and silver dimes right at the top of the slope. Also Ive dug silver coins all the way down the slope at times. Go Go Go Merrill.
Appreciate the explanation of your process and the changing circumstances of the beach. Well done.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent. I wish you would comment more about id and quality of signal and maybe give us a sound. That way you teach us about it. Also it shows that the manticore is indeed a beast. 😊
This will help you: th-cam.com/video/U-1B0WuPk9o/w-d-xo.html
@MetalDetectingNYC You've got some incredible finds in here! Happy hunting. Just a question from a fellow NYC detectorist of about 6 years (who has never found anything on the level that you have, heh 😅): If you are actually located in NYC and are also a Parks Dept premit holder like me, what are your thoughts on the language about reporting high value finds to the city annual upon permit renewal? Interested in your take... thanks!
P.s. I think that magnetic-looking object you found might be a "gibit" (a charm from Croc shoes, hahaha.
My thoughts about the language on the permit is similar to my thoughts on the language in our law about the horrible crime of jaywalking.
Hey man, I find the eye rings and bracelets in Florida as well. Note, Im finding some new gold rings that do not have stamps. They have laser engraved markings that only show in certain light with a 10x loupe. These markings can actually wear off with use.
So glad you hit that beach at the best moment.
❤ What an amazing video! Best I've seen in quite awhile! Keep up the good work my friend. Much love to your channel from Indiana.
Awesome hunt man!! I love your channel and am so happy you brought back the unlocks!
Thank you!
Merrill, you inspired me. I’ve been watching the channel for a while and I finally ordered a detector and got the permit. Hopefully I’ll be swinging in the park in the next week or so.
You made my day! Inspire is an important word! Go get it Kevin!
Horseshoe pin that has a magnetic clasp instead of a stick pin that attaches pin to clothing. Advantage is that magnetic clasp does not leaves holes into fabric.
Fantastic mate! You work hard for your finds, well deserved.Congrats on a super hunt!
Thank you!
Great Video! That ring you asked about looks like Nickel plated steel. Used to work for a company that did a lot of nickel plating, looks just like that ring. I wouldn't rule out Zinc plating either. Doorknobs are zinc plated for a color match. I'm super curious about the new detector, Please! Please! make more videos with the large and small coil.
Merrill what have you trodden in. Lol
The amount of work you do and the amount of looking thinking studying shows yes some people get lucky but this goes to show right time right place well done you fully deserved because the hard work was done beforehand
Didn't get to use MD Tue but tomorrow is definitely the day my MD gets it's first outing the low tide is in daylight
Rooting for you Tony!
Nice hunt. Very informative. Learned a lot of stuff. Been watching your channel for over a year or so, finally subscribed. Horseshoe with a magnet is most likely a refridgerator magnet.
Thanks for the sub!
That's great Merril! - I've still never been beach-detecting, but that looks a lotta fun at nighttime... 🙏
That one ring is made out of magnetic stainless steel. Used for cooking pots to be induction compatible, or as hardened ABEC steel in ball bearings for example.
Yeah ..some stainless steel is magnetic and some is not..I think it depends on the nickel content
Congrats Merril another fantastic Hunt!!! Your motivating me to head to the beach now!!!🎉👍
Thank you!
The horse shoe was probably a magnet on somebodys cooler. Ive seen plenty of all metal coolers on the beach where you could easily stick a decorative magnet to. My other channel is Busy Diggin and i do a lot of detecting
Casper Metal Detecting here - WTG my friend! Great hunt great finds great vid !
as for chains with bad metal clasp never on precious metal chains - ive found a couple in my over
40+ yrs of hunting - I have found at least one bracelet and one necklace that person must have worn or broke
the gold clasp and replace it with a junk one - both were different color and wrong size so you could tell they were replaced
- you just never know
A few weeks ago we had a small tropical storm pass by. When I went to my local beach at five the next morning I found the sand was four feet lower. 14 rings in two hours, 11 were gold, 3 had diamonds. By the time I left the sand was already filling back in.
Yes! Isn’t that crazy how fast the sand goes back!!!
You did awesome! You are the earring king!
Thank you!
Wow Merrill, that was an awesome evening hunt. What a bunch of really neat finds. Keep Digging them up, Merrill!😎
Thanks, will do!
Incredible hunt! Good job Merril!! I just love watching your videos, especially when its party time like this!
Thank you!!!
You aren’t kidding, what a detecting earring extravaganza night. Congrats
Fantastic Merrill, go for the greenies.
Yes!
Great hunt Merrill! This is the kind of day we all dream of...
Yes!
Hi merril the horse shoe with magnet is like a waiters name badge or company name or logo so you can remove it from your work shirts
Wow! That makes sense. Thank you for the ID.
Yeah! Comin join your friends Merrill! Love Your sense of humor. Really enjoyed!
Great night of beach hunting! Kryptonite. 👍
In a pinch, people can use the magnet on the back of their Equinox where the charger goes.
Everyone can do a magnet test right where they’re standing.
Congratulations Merrill!
Merrill it was a great hunt and really nice finds.I enjoyed your video.Good luck to you.
Nicely done Merrill, i enjoyed the video. 🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video sir. Great content and special effects. Keep’m coming.
Enjoying the videos and learning a lot!
Hello Merrill the finds are Awesome 👌 Can I just make a suggestion 🤔 could you do more wrap- ups on your finds at the end of some of your videos. Thanks 😊 keep Swinging and digging 👍
Will do Willie. Im trying to get better at engaging through the whole video. If I just show the finds at the end, people skip to the end like a photograph. TH-cam doesnt push out the videos that dont keep an audience for a long period of time.
@@MetalDetectingNYC ❤️
The amount and quality of finds in this video alone, is worth a bag of Taco Bell and a pint of Haagen Das just for witnessing such an awesome hunt from my computer. What a great day.
Been addicted to the videos. Another great one !
Awesome hunt Merrill your knowledge paid off! I did my first beach hunt ever in Virginia Friday, took my manticore. Actually found a good bit of stuff, all junk jewelry and newer coins. But did find 2 rings, one is tiny and says “keep f@cking going” on it, I looked it up and it is stainless steel and hit a target ID of 5.
That’s fantastic! Good to read that you are going all metal.
@@MetalDetectingNYC all metal all the time! Can’t wait to go back and try again, my wife said she’s bringing my equinox so she can detect too 😂
Cam you add alink to the head flashlight you are using ? Or other recommended one maybe ?
In brightness, it matches this in lumens: amzn.to/3QSd23w
Wow alot of jewelry nice hunt thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for watching
Another fine show Merril! Now I gotta go out and hunt a beach again... :) ...Darn! .. :) :)
Thank you!
Always enjoy your videos.
That last ring you had looks like my wierd Dysprosium ring that was made for me by a scientist friend, did it have any flex to it ? My one has a slightly yellow hint to it when looked at in direct sunlight & can be bent with a lot of force & very heavy for its size & will break if hit hard. Its strongly magnetic.
Sir Merrell thank you for such an interesting video to say the least, silver, and gold ND tons of earrings!, can't beat that!, 2,500 dollars in jewelry is abit low bit low but the Manticore is paid for sure!, congratulations Sir Merrell and please post another video of this part of magical beach.
If I was there hunting I would've been out into the water the whole time up to knee deep getting pushed around a bit but it'd be worth it. The lighter stuff is moving but the heavier targets are sitting there. Maybe one day we can do two hunts where we each host it. So not to try and cherry pick I would bring a pulse machine so half the time is lost on digging iron but I'm good with that. I want to change your thoughts on pulse inductors.
Congratulations Merrill! I wish I had the gumption to go mding at 3am. Great video
Thanks!
Congrats brother from another mother! Epic video
Thanks Lou! I heard were visiting this weekend!
That 1 ring could be polished HHS, high strength steel. Horseshoe, refrigerator magnet. Cool video. Thanks for sharing.👍👍💤
What to go Idaho! Great hunt. Do you recall your settings that night? Have yet to have a great hunt with the Manticore CBX, VA. Need to. Have you down for hunt! Great video!
Beach General Recovery speed 5. Sensitivity at 23
And all metal always
Awesome hunt Merril.
Thank you!
Great hunt Merrill. Are vdi numbers on your manticore similar to vdi numbers on nox 900?
Yes, from my tests identical
Merril, you know you’re nuts right! Nice video my friend!
Yes! LOL
Great haul!
Man, that was great. Thank-you Merrill.
Glad you enjoyed it
In the 80s 90s a few English men hit the beaches of Spain in the winter before the mainstream understood the hobby.
These blokes hit Troy on Troy of Gold. Lived in a van, spent all the euros found on beer, petrol and full English breakfasts. Hundreds of rings, chains, pendent. Lot of 18ct and plenty of 22crt, and tonnes of 9ct... Much with large diamonds etc. They ran a series of articles in the Tresure Hunting magazine c1991. The photos are mental!!!!
Merci pour cette belle sortie sou la pluie 🥰
Anxious and interested to see you do the " Gold Consolidation" project 👀!!!
Was this all in one time video thats great great detecting ❤️💯
All in one night! This RARELY happens!
Great hunt Merril
Wow, just like the good ole days.... I snagged a Cartier with the same serial # as yours... After some DEEP research, it turns out that you can get a fake cast in REAL gold too... Happy Hunting!!
Incredible finds Merril! Congrats!
Thank you!!!!
The eyes are Nazars. They are middle eastern, mostly and they serve to ward off the evil eye. They protect you.
You are gutsy as hell to be out there in the dark. Other people? Scary…what are they doing? Be safe…you are so much fun to watch. Thank you.
Thank you!
Hi you pendant i with the magnet is a fridge magnet love the video
Thank you!
Awesome night Merrill 👍👍
Wow great hunt that some breat finds ,thanks for vid.
Legendary Hunt! Congrats!🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
What a great outing! Lots of fun
.
Stainless jewelry is expensive too! The gold and silver are magnetic on the ends because of the springs in the locks!
Interesting perspective! Thank you!
I went to the beach with my Deus 2 and all I seem to find are small pull tabs, foil, and bottle caps. Is it possible I have the machine set to only find junk? Great video!
Trust the preset programs but here are mine: www.iratemetaldetectors.com/copy-of-best-settings-nokta-makro-l Beach hunting can change in a day if the sand moves. It takes time, patience and understanding that it is dependent on amount of drops, sand movement and the number of detectorists on a given beach.
Merrill, the horse shoe and magnet are to avoid pin holes in your clothing.
Killing it congrats!! 🎉🎉
Fantastic Merrill! That’s a fun time detecting on the beach
Well done! Congratulations! Really enjoying your content and learning so much..
Kind Regards

The ring. Stainless varieties can be magnetic
Great night!❤❤❤
What an amazing hunt! So many great finds!
Thank you!
Some serious finds there Merrill, its only a matter of time before you find something of serious value.
Thank you!
The horseshoe is a magnet pin..a n opposite pole magnet goes on the in side of a let's do shirt and you affix the horseshoe on the outside..instead of a pin broach..its a magnet broach!
All seeing eye. Like on the dollar bill. Great video with helpful tips!!👍😎👍
Reminds me of a song “Oh, what a night…” That was one he!! of a hunt Merrill, you can’t get much better than that. I’d be out there at 3 every night if it could pay off like that! BTW, you might want to up your goal for likes, you’re well past 1K, very deserving!
Can you recommend a cheap metal detector to start out with pleas
Stainless can be magnetic as an engineering machinist I work with it all the time.
Great video 👍.
Exactly, my fridge is stainless and magnets stick to it
Hey merril, been a minute, moved from Seattle to Florida , hope all is well
Same with you!
I just bought my first metal detector at a thrift store. Its an xr808 smart tracker by techna, inc. Are they good or no?
Congrats, that’s one heck of a hunt Merrill!
It is very rare that days like this happen. I sure enjoy them when they do.
Have you had much success on the north shore of long island?
