I agree that the bat mobile and tank shooting sections were mind-bogglingly repetitive but it had a bit of variation to keep me somewhat interested. The gameplay was as great as ever being batman and it was definitely a huge step up from AC. The story was maybe on par withAC but not better than asylum. I can't say this wasn't a good game, though, very enjoyable after they made it playable on PC. I would say it is as good as AC in its own way.

People should not take reviews to decide to buy a game or not (unless that review tells you that a game is broken, in that case we don't buy it). Reviews are 'Opinions', a review from IGN might give a game '10' but maybe you won't even like it and think it's just a '6' or a '7' and vice versa, Some games that are given '6's and '7's, in your opinion, might be a '9' or '10'. What i want to say is that YOU should review the game for yourself, i know people who hate The Witcher 3 despite the reviews it got. Arkham Knight might be a '10' to you and a '7' to another. Just because IGN/Polygon gave it a '9.2' and '10' doesn't mean it's a complete MASTERPIECE and when Gamespot gives it a '7' doesn't mean it's a Disappointment (but still good).

I tend to listen out for specific things across reviews. That way you'll know whether the game's for you. With this one, the reservations I've had for some time have been verified by a number of reviews today. Gamespots reviewers opinion just seemed attuned to mine. Cancelled my preorder now, not because of a score but because the things I don't like are clearly there. I'll buy it down the road

Damn, I'm so happy of NOT watching this video review until AFTER finishing this game. This review is very spoiler heavy. There is nothing better by getting surprised by Hamils appearance for the first time.
the first 2 hours is a little heavy on the batmobile but after that it's a fluid, incredibly excellent game. My favorite so far. get passed the first 2 hours which isn't bad at all and then you'll be rewarded. trust me
well the one decent expansion was the one with killer croc and freeze and rash i dont know how to spell his name but that should have been in the game and it depends on opinion if you like very reptitive and predictable charecters you will fall in love with this game
This isn't the first time Batman has ever had a tank-like batmobile, the Dark Knight Returns for instance. Also glad that Joker came back (probably in a scarecrow hallucination) and MAN-BAT, I had no idea he was even in this.

When ign docked a game for having too much water I thought that was the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my life. Today ladies gentlemen gamespot has took the throne from ign. They gave Arkham Knight a 7 because of too much batmobile.... Let that sink in

Back to playing this game.. when it first came out it got overshadowed by The Witcher so I never finished it.. then kinda forgot about it.... Just popped it in the other day now I can't stop playing it... its really a wonderful well made game. Graphics, gameplay, action, new additions... really really amazing

Jason Todd is an original character to the Arkhamverse, as he has not appeared before. Rocksteady didn't lie, they're just better at diverting the attention of players than most.
I'm not even a fan of games like this but when I played it, it blew me away with the graphics and the craftsmanship and the effort they gave to the game
Batman Arkham Knight is so much fun to play just like the other Batmangames from Rocksteady :) .I loved to drive the Batmobile and i love everything about the game like the fightingmechanics, fear takedown, the gadgets and the use of the Detectivevision . Rocksteady sure knows how to make awesome Superhero / Batman games .
I finished the game 100% although I struggled a bit from the riddler trophies and collectibles, it was still kinda fun though, some people who says the batmobile is overused are probably exaggerating it, or maybe I just enjoyed using it. Then again I can't deny that its lacking boss battles, the sad part is that I can't download the DLC missions because I got no internet in my room.
The tank is absolutely not out of place. It even gives the game a slight arcade edge while remaining as batman as it can be. It is really satisfying to master tank combat as well or hunt or lure tanks. Like said it is also used to solve riddles and other puzzles, all very clever done. This game is absolutely stunning graphically, cinematics and sound. So many details, options and extra's to unlock. Deserves a 9,5 imo, very impressive.
Yes there are bossbattles in tank mode which are quite tricky. It's so cool as you unlock skillpoints you can upgrade the moveset of the tank as well. It requires a lot of skill to master it buy it plays wonderful, even arcade style-ish. (sliding, counterattack, missiles, hacking, chargeshots etc)
The tank is obviously out of place it is used 60% of the time in the story and I did play the game for those who say I didnt Edited: my grammer was really bad

finally got this game, picked it up on sale, been on my radar a long time but kept looking to new games as I got my ps4 after this was released. plus i love batman and hold a strong regard to how his stories are fleshed out. this game is AMAZING. so much variety, amazing physics, even has the original voice of batman and joker from the animated series. just feels so good. love this game.
I never really understood why people had problem with the amount batmobile combat? In my opinion theres a perfect balance between batman and batmobile sections.. both of them are equally used! Also I feel like people who have problems with batmobile never really upgraded it... Because it becomes really fun when you have a fully upgraded batmobile and know how to defeat each enemy!
What people don't understand that without the tank feature, the Batmobile would just be a car, and Batmobile is not JUST a car; even back in the 1960's, it had lots of cool features.
This game is just pure excitement. And the use of the batmobile is not too much, the game play is balanced between batman's fighting and batmobile. Great game, have no complains about it.
favorite arkham game out of the series, took some time having to think between arkham city and arkham knight, but eventually i came tot this because of the absolutely mind blowing ending, arkham city had a phenomenal ending as well of course. But there was something about playing as joker in the end that really changed the game. Also had no problem with the tank missions, honestly i think they were really fun. Batman Arkham Knight: 10/10, Arkham City: 10/10, Arkham Asylum: 9.6/10. BEST TRILOGY EVER!!!
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Not gonna lie chief...no. Spider-Man is better. Before the Arkham series, Spider-Man 2 was the best super hero game & it showed how awesome of a character he could be in a video game (if done right). It was only a matter of time before a developer did their homework & perfected Spider-Man 2.. thus we have Spider-Man ps4. This game was LONG OVERDUE. Also the game does not feel like Arkham, especially the combat, it’s more challenging.
Well, after finishing the game, I can say that in my opinion, this is the best Arkham game in the series. This is mostly since it took all of the things from the previous three games, and mashed it together for a complete package. I love the city, the Neon lights, the hours upon hours of content you gave. Also a few surprises made me love it even more. Sure, Arkham Asylum was the one who introduced us to the series with the eerie feeling, the spooky atmosphere, but Arkham Knight perfected everything it was. The only thing I can rant about is the intensive use of the Batmobile. Sure, it's handy, but I still rather use Batman to go from place to place (especially after upgrading his abilities to glide) and the boss battles with the Batmobile are absolutely frustrating at times since the camera goes all the way back and the controls feels like they're changed. I also use the alternate controls for the Batmobile and I can say that it's much more convenient rather than actually holding L2 for the entire time which is completely awkward. Overall, except for minor glitches aside, I recommend this game to anyone who loves Batman or even action-adventure games. This is probably my Game of the Year of 2015.
About to buy my first ever PS4 just to play this game. I'm in my 50s and bought a PS3 last year cheap to see if I'd like playing its games. Played 'The Last of Us' first and fell in love with the PlayStation thereafter. The Arkham games have kept me entertained (yes, _and_ Origins) for almost a year, but now it's time to to move up to the PS4. Can't wait!
***** Most reviews had something negative to say about the Batmobile, and Gamespot had the same complaints, but they gave it a way lower score for the same exact complaint. I don't think Gamespot even complained about anything else. Every other review was 8.5/10 - 10/10 but Gamespot gave it a 7, and it kind of sticks out. That's why people are "hating on gamespot's review".

L:T:H F:T:W .ORIGINS had the best Bosses and Troy Bakers Joker was alot more crazed and reckless.Plus RCS (Roger Craig Smith) did a good job as a younger,stronger,and more rough and reckless batman.Plus the story was the best for me.The cutscenes were also better put together.

The batmobile was a great addition,sure.But the tank battles were monotonous.I was actually excited about these at first but as the game went on,they became more of a chore.Arkham Knight is the best looking game in the series and the combat is satisfying.But batmobile was waaayy overused.And then come the terrible boss fights. Arkham City is the best game of the series,hands down.Asylum and Origins were fantastic,too.Even Arkham Knight.AK deserves a 8.5/10 imo.
Things I think Arkham Knight should have had: - Scarecrow's original voice actor. We don't need another Hugo Strange monologue. - Hush to be a major villain - Gotham to look like the Gotham you see from Arkham City with the huge sky scrapers and a Gothic feel - Paul Dini as the writer - A daytime mission in which you play as Bruce Wayne driving a fancy car to show Gotham before its fall to Scarecrow - Wayne Manor and the Bat Cave

Sgt. Frosting I played each one and I still thoroughly enjoyed AK. It's definitely not as good as the first two, but its still a fantastic game imo.
My main complaint was the lack of boss fights. There's practically none. Unless you count the vehicle battles. Which I honestly don't.

Back to playing this game.. when it first came out it got overshadowed by The Witcher so I never finished it.. then kinda forgot about it.... Just popped it in the other day now I can't stop playing it... its really a wonderful well made game. Graphics, gameplay, action, new additions... really really amazing

Jason Todd is an original character to the Arkhamverse, as he has not appeared before. Rocksteady didn't lie, they're just better at diverting the attention of players than most.

Batman Arkham Knight is so much fun to play just like the other Batmangames from Rocksteady :) .I loved to drive the Batmobile and i love everything about the game like the fightingmechanics, fear takedown, the gadgets and the use of the Detectivevision .

I finished the game 100% although I struggled a bit from the riddler trophies and collectibles, it was still kinda fun though, some people who says the batmobile is overused are probably exaggerating it, or maybe I just enjoyed using it. Then again I can't deny that its lacking boss battles, the sad part is that I can't download the DLC missions because I got no internet in my room.

The tank is absolutely not out of place. It even gives the game a slight arcade edge while remaining as batman as it can be. It is really satisfying to master tank combat as well or hunt or lure tanks. Like said it is also used to solve riddles and other puzzles, all very clever done. This game is absolutely stunning graphically, cinematics and sound. So many details, options and extra's to unlock. Deserves a 9,5 imo, very impressive.
Don't forget no boss battles
Yes there are bossbattles in tank mode which are quite tricky. It's so cool as you unlock skillpoints you can upgrade the moveset of the tank as well. It requires a lot of skill to master it buy it plays wonderful, even arcade style-ish. (sliding, counterattack, missiles, hacking, chargeshots etc)
The tank is obviously out of place it is used 60% of the time in the story and I did play the game for those who say I didnt

finally got this game, picked it up on sale, been on my radar a long time but kept looking to new games as I got my ps4 after this was released. plus i love batman and hold a strong regard to how his stories are fleshed out. this game is AMAZING. so much variety, amazing physics, even has the original voice of batman and joker from the animated series. just feels so good. love this game.

I never really understood why people had problem with the amount batmobile combat? In my opinion theres a perfect balance between batman and batmobile sections.. both of them are equally used! Also I feel like people who have problems with batmobile never really upgraded it... Because it becomes really fun when you have a fully upgraded batmobile and know how to defeat each enemy!
Nabillio96 Batman and Jason should've been scrapping. Batman was basically running away from tank. Same with Deathstroke.
What people don't understand that without the tank feature, the Batmobile would just be a car, and Batmobile is not JUST a car; even back in the 1960's, it had lots of cool features.
This game is just pure excitement. And the use of the batmobile is not too much, the game play is balanced between batman's fighting and batmobile. Great game, have no complains about it.
favorite arkham game out of the series, took some time having to think between arkham city and arkham knight, but eventually i came tot this because of the absolutely mind blowing ending, arkham city had a phenomenal ending as well of course. But there was something about playing as joker in the end that really changed the game. Also had no problem with the tank missions, honestly i think they were really fun. Batman Arkham Knight: 10/10, Arkham City: 10/10, Arkham Asylum: 9.6/10. BEST TRILOGY EVER!!!

Before the Arkham series, Spider-Man 2 was the best super hero game & it showed how awesome of a character he could be in a video game (if done right). It was only a matter of time before a developer did their homework & perfected Spider-Man 2.. thus we have Spider-Man ps4. This game was LONG OVERDUE. Also the game does not feel like Arkham, especially the combat, it’s more challenging.

Well, after finishing the game, I can say that in my opinion, this is the best Arkham game in the series. This is mostly since it took all of the things from the previous three games, and mashed it together for a complete package. I love the city, the Neon lights, the hours upon hours of content you gave. Also a few surprises made me love it even more. Sure, Arkham Asylum was the one who introduced us to the series with the eerie feeling, the spooky atmosphere, but Arkham Knight perfected everything it was. The only thing I can rant about is the intensive use of the Batmobile. Sure, it's handy, but I still rather use Batman to go from place to place (especially after upgrading his abilities to glide) and the boss battles with the Batmobile are absolutely frustrating at times since the camera goes all the way back and the controls feels like they're changed. I also use the alternate controls for the Batmobile and I can say that it's much more convenient rather than actually holding L2 for the entire time which is completely awkward. Overall, except for minor glitches aside, I recommend this game to anyone who loves Batman or even action-adventure games. This is probably my Game of the Year of 2015.

About to buy my first ever PS4 just to play this game. I'm in my 50s and bought a PS3 last year cheap to see if I'd like playing its games. Played 'The Last of Us' first and fell in love with the PlayStation thereafter. The Arkham games have kept me entertained (yes, _and_ Origins) for almost a year, but now it's time to to move up to the PS4. Can't wait!

This game is great you haters are clueless about what a good game is. I would give it a solid 9/10 I have it for Xbox One but its pretty much the same on PS4. If you don't like the batmobile so much then just upgrade your gliding and fly everywhere like I do. But the batmobile is pretty fun and if you ask me complaining about it is so whiny and middle school.
The batmobile was a great addition,sure.But the tank battles were monotonous.I was actually excited about these at first but as the game went on,they became more of a chore.Arkham Knight is the best looking game in the series and the combat is satisfying.But batmobile was waaayy overused.And then come the terrible boss fights.
Arkham City is the best game of the series,hands down.Asylum and Origins were fantastic,too.Even Arkham Knight.AK deserves a 8.5/10 imo.

Things I think Arkham Knight should have had:
- Scarecrow's original voice actor. We don't need another Hugo Strange monologue.
- Hush to be a major villain
- Gotham to look like the Gotham you see from Arkham City with the huge sky scrapers and a Gothic feel
- Paul Dini as the writer
- A daytime mission in which you play as Bruce Wayne driving a fancy car to show Gotham before its fall to Scarecrow
- Wayne Manor and the Bat Cave
