      Marginally Muted the chances of anything/anyone capturing voyager is nothing.
      It will travel on until its destroyed naturally. It might even take hundreds of millions of years but it'll very likey just be destroyed without anything capturing it or noticing it.
      I would bet more on human technological advancement creating technology which would eventually allow humans to travel in a different manner which would speed humans beyond where the voyager(s) are presently, making the voyagers obsolete.

      that means sixty million people on earth can decipher it. I hear that on average, aliens are stupider than us. Also that our anger and violence confuses and scares them. Its like they are autistic and really really really don't like to be touched. Funny, they have been touching us for quite some time. I think turnabout is fair play.

      I mean, you aren't the smartest person on Earth, neither am I, but if we were given something like this I'm sure the top scientists and researchers are gonna find out everything. Same goes with Aliens, Voyager isn't just going to land on a planet, it would burn up, so an advanced Alien civilization would have to manually retrieve it and if they have that technology, they would definitely be smart enough to decode it. We're not talking about some average Joe here.

    • @98Zai
      @98Zai 7 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      They probably don't have ears. But even atoms vibrate and sound is just vibration. The biggest issue I see is why they would care. This record is made for us, to inspire and challenge thought. An alien "civilization" probably cares about us as much as we care about the one red ant in the Amazon that just got eaten by a bird. Nothing really matters, and that's the thing we still haven't been able to grasp. As soon as we do, space exploration will stop in it's tracks and we'll spend eternity in a virtual world where we make existence as comfortable as possible. Perhaps there is a step beyond that, but it's impossible to speculate about.

    • @fterimage
      @fterimage 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Why would they assume that? It contains many sounds some of which one would presume are familiar to a life form which evolved in analogous environment to us - lightening or rain for example would be recognisable sounds.

    • @agelessgoose2217

      I wouldn't think they would assume that... I mean carl made sure not to put any sound nor image of war or religion.. Its supposed to show them what human begins are what the world we live on is like... Plus I don't think the aliens would be as right minded as you are in thinking that this metal thing that was flying through space that has a disk with noise and pictures on it would immediately go to war...
