  • Life can throw some major curveballs. Living life with a prosthetic leg can be challenging. 1 year after amputation i was just figuring out what this new normal was. 2 years after amputation, i was getting comfortable. 3 years after amputation i was feeling so good that i got too confident and hurt myself.

@@ElectiveAmputationI just got my new socket (#2) today i'm also in the process of healing from a sore that I got on my stump. Basically I was bottoming out an my prothetist kept trying to cushion it. Finally, my doctor called him and said.Look, whatever you're doing is just patchwork this is not working, so I got fitted for a completely new one. 🙏👉🦿

Your microphone needs some adjusting. The into sound is fine but when you talk I have to turn the volume way up. Otherwise it’s a great video!

Can you explain what makes it waterproof please? Is it a sleeve or a totally different prosthesis?

July 9th was my first year anniversary of amputation. This is my first summer with my prosthesis. In February with the test socket that was a pinlock system, I shrunk so much that when I was weedeating my leg almost slipped out of the sleeve. One of the reasons I got the pinlock system was so that wouldn't happen, but it did. It hurt like hell too. On two other occasions I took off the sleeve to have a pint of sweat pour out of it (gross). I also get sores and try correcting the situation with my prothesist, but falls on deaf ears. I think I need another prothesist.
