Hi, thanks for this video. I live in Holland. And I want to chip-bud graft on een branche that is two of three times thicker than my branches where I take the buds from. Is this possible? And can I do it now in summer in Holland?

      Hello!
It is better to do this in the spring, of course, then the percentage of successful grafts is higher. But you can try. The temperature in Holland is now about 26 degrees Celsius during the day. Therefore, it is better to do this in the evening in cloudy weather. You need to do it quickly, the chip should not dry out. Good luck!
      Sincerely,

      Hello!
It is believed that figs can be grafted at any time of the year, but the percentage of successful grafting will vary. Spring is considered the best time. and the situation when the rootstock has recently woken up, but the scion is still sleeping (for example, it was stored in the refrigerator). If you have to grafting in the summer, it is better to do it not in the heat, but on a cloudy day, early in the morning or in the evening.
      Sincerely,

Hello! A double rootstock (two root systems) does not make sense, in my opinion. If you meant a double graft of different varieties on the same rootstock - yes, I did it, and successfully.
      Sincerely,

      Hello!
Thank you for your interest in my channel and warm greetings to the people of Israel!
Fig grafting is best done in early spring, at the very beginning of the awakening of the rootstock buds. It can be done at other times, but in our countries hot weather will reduce the percentage of successful graftings. In the video I graft a fig with a bud on March 17 last year. But this year the winter is warmer, and perhaps the grafting season will come earlier. It is better to graft early in the morning or at sunset, in the evening, when the heat has subsided. Sometimes it is useful to keep scion cuttings in film in the refrigerator until the rootstock awakens. When the scion bud is still asleep, and the rootstock has already woken up, the success rate is higher.
I wish you successful grafting and a good fig harvest, and peace and prosperity to all the people of Morocco.
      Sincerely,
      Figs in Israel
