    Great video.
    Can reshi be grown on sawdust?

      Yes, absolutely! Cardboard would work too.

      @@mycrodexmushrooms You could compare the flavour by growing them on different substrate. I bet the oak pellet would really give it a stronger palette.

    I'm transfixed. These are great. You basically make a brickette food slab and train them to fruit towards the Oxygen slit.
    just wish I had the space to do this.

    Never known this type of mushroom. It looks like you are growing your own coral reef 😂
    @PCT I think your collaborations are really good 👍

    It's June 20 in northern ny state and the reishi season is "BOOMING". I started picking for profit but fell in love with this mushroom. I think it may be controlling my mind but I don't care. I tried it out because I felt if I was going to recommend it , in good conscience, I should try it. Forget about lionsmane , reishi should be the rock star of mushrooms. PS , love , collect , use and sell chaga too. Great video and can't wait to grow some more blocks with new info. I'm trying out growing tsugae on logs with some success (finally).

    What is the ideal temp and humidity levels for reishi? How long will it fruit?

    • @mycrodexmushrooms
      @mycrodexmushrooms 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Reishi will grow at most temperatures between 50F and 85F. Anything close to room temperature will suffice.
      As for humidity, aim for 80% to 90%, but this isn't a huge factor as long as the fruiting block has ample water. They will still fruit well around 50%.
      They will ideally fruit for 2-3 months but it highly depends on water content of the block, as well as how much substrate it has access to throughout. Low water equals a poor immune system, so it will likely contaminate at that point.

    just came across your video, very information. at 13:36, how does you get the grow bag puffed up with air, is that another bag you transferred the fully colonised substrate to? thank you

    I'm growing some lucidum and they stop growing after removeing from a grow box. I spritz several time daily. I'm trying to conk. I do have good air flow.

    Excellent video.
    Can they colonize non-sterilized bedding like wood chips and leaf mulch?
    How well do they compete with indigenous fungi?

    • @PlantCellTechnology
      @PlantCellTechnology  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      We'd recommend at least pasteurizing of substrate to speed up the process. As long as your fungi has ample substrate and fruiting conditions are present, it should grow relatively well.
      Reishi (Ganoderma) can be found worldwide so it's very adaptable.

    I found what I think might be reishi growing on the stump of a tree I cut down a couple years ago. What should I look for to get a positive ID? Are there any varieties that are similar and could be confused as reishi?

    • @timothylongmore7325
      @timothylongmore7325 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Where do you live? What species of tree? Many polypores are medicinal , none (polypores) in north america are poiseness. There are three sub species of reishi in north america. I think the type shown is lucidum which will grow here but is not native.

      Shay has never tried. There are certain species of Ganoderma that can grow on pines though.
