    Such a wonderful video! I absolutely love the advice. Would this sterilisation method for the nepenthes also work for staghorn fern spores by any chance?

    How much sugar would you recommend for a 20ml solution of diluted hydrogren peroxide? for helping with seeds germination

    Your channel is great! I've been wanting to get into tissue culture so badly. I'm obsessed with plants, not just house plants but every little thing growing. We went to visit my wife's family in Philippines and I spent a ton of time just looking at plants. I'm gathering lab equipment, but I need a laminar flow hood. Im going to build my own, and I am debating on adding a bottom floor with holes, and an attached fan chamber to pull vapors down and out of the house through a vent. Are there any chemicals that have dangerous vapors in tissue culture, to warrant my concern? Or, would I be better off not adding the suction. I could see where the exhaust vent could suck contaminated air from the window that you put your hands through and into the sterile area of the workspace.

    Love the channel. Learned so much and had some nice results. However, I don't have time to keep up with the hobby for now. I have a set of biocouplers (never used). I am in the dmv area. Can I donate them for someone wanting to get into tissue culture? Love what you guys are doing, would like to give back.

      Thanks so much!! It's great what you want to do. Where do you live? We will communicate with our marketing team to see if we have any enthusiasts who are limited by budget but eagerly want to try tissue culture. We can help them with this donation of yours. How does that sound to you?

      @@kasunrphoto You can do tissue culture at home. But, you need to have setup, clean environment, and a working protocol for the plant you want to grow in vitro.

    How can I dispose of the tc media?

  • @tristenhunt8400
    @tristenhunt8400 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have been wondering this for a week or so, but would it be possible to sterilize the plants in a Sodium dicloro solution put in a vacuum chamber for a short period of time? or would the water in the plant just start boiling and kill the plant instantly? I thinking you don't even need full vacuum, just enough to break the surface tension. I know tween-20 is used for the surfactant but i was thinking a vacuum chamber would help also with getting the sanitizer into every crack and crevasse of the plant. food for thought I guess...

    What species have you been able to get into tc from tissue? I heard that nepenthes, like the highlanders, have an internal bacteria that make them hard to place into tc from tissue. Also would they have to have a nighttime temp drip while in tc?

    I've been watching you a week and already have things ordered to get started. However, I ordered a cannabis starter kit, as it was $99, and that was all I saw. Can I use that to get started with other plants, then move them over once the other media is here? I live in a rv now, planning a homestead. Do you have any advice on keeping plants around for a long time?

    • @PlantCellTechnology
      @PlantCellTechnology  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi,
      Great to hear from you!
      Before we suggest anything, can you tell what the kit actually contains?

    • @FarmerShawns
      @FarmerShawns 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @PlantCellTechnology it has a complete cannabis cloning mix, and multiplication mix. I've been looking at your channel, and I've come up with yes. I have other media materials on the way. Got a little over zealous and ordered plants too. I was checking in case anything came early or with issues.

      @@FarmerShawns This is great! You seem super excited about your experiments.🤩🤩 We hope they turn out great. In any condition, do not neglect to maintain an aseptic environment for your cultures. The health of your plants depends on that, too. And, if you need any help, let us know!
