I always assumed that "mid life crisis" always insinuated somebody being extremely impulsive during their middle age period of their life in negative ways. Like breaking up their marriage by cheating on their wife with a much younger woman to feel young again, spending money they don't have on an expensive car for the thrill, etc. Simply doing things that you've held off on for various reasons that have no negative affects against anyone around you is fine and not that
Vet nurse here- most cats wont like going outside if they werent raised that way and it can be very stressful. But if you leash train them and they end up enjoying it then wonderful! Your cat will let you know if they dont want to.
I would like to recommend to the guy who's dating some guys sister. DO keep seeing the friend as it is. A friend of mine started dating my brother and after that they only wanted to meet me as a couple. So the bond I had with my brother and the bond I had with her both changed and got less. I get that they want to be together, but that does not mean I want to be a third wheel. And it changes the dynamic too much, that is what killed our friendship. Not the fact that they got together, cos I was just happy for them.
Link can see friendship and life in such a romantic way, such as suggesting a written covenant between friends. Then he drops the term “bros before hos”
Great conversation at the end. I'm glad to hear people embracing their "mid life crisis." I think these things, like "phases" people have when they're younger, aren't as bad as people make them out to be.
Is there a way for UK subscribers to leave voicemails? You guys should definitely consider providing a means of leaving messages to international viewers. Keep up the great work 👍
i thought international subscribers can leave voicemail too.. last 4 or 5 podcast they got (aired) one international voicemail, but the sound was not good....or maybe i missheard the guy.
Im about to start leash training my cat too, its something I learned this year, I never would’ve thought of a cat being walked around on a leash if I didn’t move out to New Hampshire, people are crazy out here
As someone who's about to turn 42... It's less a midlife crisis and more of a "I'm old and I'm tired of living my life in the exact ways that I was told to do by the old people in my life. And I'm tired of not being myself" crisis. I had mine long ago in my 30s. You look around and you just realize that certain things were just not ok for people to try to squash out of your personality or control your life for. I will say; The older I get the less fvcks I give about other people's opinions on me, when it comes to the things that don't matter. Like Rhett said "we live in a society". You should care about the opinions of others when it comes to their own wants and needs and feelings. It's not ok to hurt others (especially people you claim to love) out of your own selfish needs. But when it comes to things like hair, clothing, hobbies, the tv shows you like to watch, your music tastes, your dietary choices, etc etc. Everyone else can basically stfu.
I've been in a relationship with my friend's brother for 12 years and we've been happily married for 3 year's . I'm still close to my friend now sil .❤❤❤
Link, caring about how you impact other people is not the same, or the opposite of, caring what other people think of you. We should all care how we impact others, but what others think about me is not my business. That's totally on them because it's based on their perspective and experience and I have no way to know what their perspectives and experiences are.
About speaking to the brother to get his approval to date his sister; You guys are forgetting something. The girl. I, as a woman, would be torqued beyond belief.
Rhett made the best argument against the selfish pronoun/alphabet mob culture without even realizing it. Beautiful. He’s right, No one within the context of a shared community or team gets to dictate that they be given special treatment based on their personal feelings or perceptions of reality. It must be a negotiation.
I married my brother's best friend (2 years older) and it worked out great for us 🫣 I do think you need to maintain each relationship separately incase things don't work out, and my brother is the most chill and literally did not care so we were lucky in that way 😂
@26:50 Rhett, you are on the clipper. going head on with your opponents. And think of it more like a big scary pirate ship. Hence the pirate ship looking sculpture in the entrance at intuit. Come on bro
I’ve been saying this, and I’ll continue to say it until someone at Mythical actually reads this comment and takes it seriously… Mythical needs to contact Critical Role, to have a D&D crossover. One of the biggest TH-cam channels, with one of the biggest twitch streams. Some of the critical role cast can come on GMM and play games or something? And Rhett and link can have short term characters in the critical role D&D campaign. Seriously! The growth for both companies and the amount of enjoyment the communities would get from it would be amazing. 🫶
I think Dimension 20 is more likely for a crossover. Dropout, Try Guys, Smosh, and GMM are all in the same sphere. Dropout has had other youtubers on before. They've been on each others podcasts and stuff. Jordan Myrick of GMM hosts a show on Dropout already, so there's existing connections between the two. Grant from Dropout has been on Try Guys before. Dropout is more integrated into the general internet zeitgeist than Critical Role. Hank Green has been on a Dimension 20 campaign before. Dimension 20 is shot more like a "show" than a stream, which would work better logistically for GMM people because GMM is shot that way too.

I love how casual the podcast is while also having deep conversations. It's a perfect mix for me.

relationships end friendships 😭

You're not walking that cat. THAT CAT IS WALKING YOU! 😂

They could set up a Google voice number to call.
you got a loicense to call out of the country 👮♂🚨🚨
i thought international subscribers can leave voicemail too.. last 4 or 5 podcast they got (aired) one international voicemail, but the sound was not good....or maybe i missheard the guy.
I've heard people say you just have to use the exit number for your country in front of the phone number? Haven't used it myself so idk
you could call but it just costs a lot... and calling through whatsapp like they suggested few months ago, doesn't work.
I truly adore the both of you. Well the whole mythical team. But more so you two. Idk what do if I didn't have gmm or ear biscuits
Im about to start leash training my cat too, its something I learned this year, I never would’ve thought of a cat being walked around on a leash if I didn’t move out to New Hampshire, people are crazy out here
🤣 I love how they turned into Waldorf and Statler at that cat-bit.
Please, please, please Link, we need an (audio) episode of He-Man with you as Skeletor!

if you skip your mid life crisis, you live forever.
I've been in a relationship with my friend's brother for 12 years and we've been happily married for 3 year's . I'm still close to my friend now sil .❤❤❤
I wonder if Rhett and link realize they’re turning into statler and waldorf reflexively at times
46:45 magic happened in that dim lit room right there
i started taking my meds near the end of the cat bit and i almost spit them out laughing 😭😭😭

Is the way they speak to eachother a result of therapy, age, or both? Its very structured, open, etc.
I want a sweater like Link’s!!!
I heard they do that at Disneyland. The kid picks up the toy. You can walk out with it and it’s charged to the parents account.
About speaking to the brother to get his approval to date his sister; You guys are forgetting something. The girl. I, as a woman, would be torqued beyond belief.
A friend prenup is genius
Hi guys, loving the show. Keep it going. 😊
