You can develop allergies suddenly. My eyes started to get swollen and peely out of nowhere. After allergy testing with my doctor, turned out I was allergic to the eyeshadow primer I used for 10 years. It might be worth it to you to get patch tested. It's a hassle, but I know so much more about what I need to avoid.
@Ann van I'm going through that right now! One eye swelled up and now it's peeling. I threw out my mascara and eyeliner and washed my brushes and sanitized my makeup. It hasn't changed.
@@kittycloud6693 If you are able to get patch testing from a derm, it's very helpful. I found out I'm allergic to a few common ingredients (all fragrances, most metals, propolis, one preservative in detergent plus a few more). I'm even allergic to my eyelash curler (they pretty much all have nickel)! Since I've avoided those things, my skin is much better. Often it shows up around the eyes first because that's the thinnest, most delicate skin.
I really appreciate and respect how you take a stand with brands that aren't cruelty free, or that lack integrity. I was absolutely shocked by the Naturium incident. I just saw red flags in how the brand was introduced. Of course, I've heard they have some nice products, but I can't bring myself to buy them!
You’re not missing out! I’ve been irritated with the owner since day 1 (she gives such fake vibes) but I ADORE her makeup artist (Nikki LaRose on YT) so I felt torn & did buy Naturium on Nikki’s recommendation. It’s meh 😑. That’s my bad. My mistake for being “influenced”. Nikki gained popularity BECAUSE of Susan so I understand her loyalty to her (just sucks since in genuine makeup artist knowledge Nikki is great and she’s fun to watch).
I had no idea that there was controversy around any of the brands you mentioned. You're right, we can't all be caught up on all information 100% of the time.
I absolutely love the elf glow wands I’ve never had an issue with any of them I don’t like the Milani ones at all and the flower beauty are really patchy on me, funny how things work for one person and not for others lol. I personally don’t really care for CT either mostly because of price.
I’m so glad you brought this up. I feel like it is sometimes so difficult to know which brands or brand owners have done what all the time. Especially for just regular consumers who may not be on social media as often. Most of my social media is TH-cam so unless someone says “guess what Naturium did” then I have no idea. I had no idea they were controversial since I had seen so many people praise their skincare lately. 16:07
I hate the PH color changing makeup. It always looks awful on me too. I’m sure it’s fun for people it looks great on but it is definitely NOT for me. 😂 I love, love, love your eye makeup!!

This eyeshadow is gorgeous! 🤩 I have an Essence pencil near my skin tone, and I use it to clean up my lip line after applying lip products as well as to highlight the brows. (I don't even mess with my waterline!)
Please do more of these videos, really enjoy them. Thank you! So, I didnt have a very sensitive face in terms of facial skin care and I used to use a Vit. C in the morning + spf and retinol in the evening. Suddenly my eyelids became really itchy and scaly (eww) and then my ears and neck too😢. First time ever and it seems they are now supersensitive and anytime i try to use the vit. C serum, even avoiding the eyes and neck, it brings back the irritation. Im so sad, but ive just been using a moisturizer with shea butter as the first ingredient after water, and it absorbs so quickly and also is mon irritating. So maybe something like that may be an option? Anyway, I feel ya! Much non-culty ❤
Always love your reviews, honest feedback and alternatives. Great video! And yes, you are correct, the eye and neck areas are the most sensitive. That's why a lot of people (me included) can't put tretinoin or other actives or ingredients around the eyes and down to the neck area, they are very reactionary.
I’ve read that the Tarte blush wands are very glowy, I wonder if they might give you that luminous blush effect that you were hoping for from the Elf ones. Obviously more expensive, though, lol. They’ve been on my radar lately for that reason but I’m really trying to hold out because I already have so many cream and liquid blushes… 😩
I literally cant keep up with all of the drama with beauty brands. I definitely stick to cruelty free, but may miss a scandal or twenty. 😅😅 There are some that I wouldnt support no matter what. To each his own, but its nice to know if there are shady practices going on. Thanks Andrea! ❤❤
I feel the same way about the elf halo glow wands, the only one I actually somewhat like is the bronzer and it doesn’t even show up, the blushes are so patchy!!! I feel so bad that I I bought 3 blushes, a highlighter, and a bronzer!
I have oily skin, and am in my 40’s.. all of a sudden, Amy face cream ( and I use mostly high end products) anything I would put on my face, and bring down neck.. all of a sudden no matter the face cream/ I would get a neck rash- but not on face.. so after many fails at neck creams.. I tried Earth Harbor’s neck cream ( it’s the only one they have for neck ) and my neck has had no reaction.. and it’s so soft! Just wanted to let you know of something that did work for me on my neck.. Great video!
It’s great that us conscious consumers can make these choices. I buy products that perform well/quality and if the brand aligns with my values even better! But more often than not some purchases I make are from companies/stores that virtue signal, ie Maybelline, Target, etc. To each their own!
I purchased a Merit Lip oil. I almost used it up completely. But one day (3-4 months after purchase) it's like the formula turned. It's started feeling like I was applying sand on my lips! It's was soooo gritty. Not repurchasing again!
I got the Charlotte matte blush in Dream Pop (the red) from Influenster to try and I can get it to work on me but I have trouble with patchiness as well, and it dries so fast. I definitely have better cream blushes for much cheaper, I'm not a big liquid blush fan overall but had high hopes for this one! (PS love seeing you in purple again! 💜)
I agree on the elf wands. I wish i didn't waste my money on them. Thank you on your honest reviews. Next time i will wait longer for your honest reviews.
I wasn't a fan of the Fenty mascara either, it didn't do much for my lashes and was really wet. I don't like it when mascaras are so wet as they smudge a lot. I did like the CT blushes though, mostly the shades and how easy they were to use. About those brands you mentioned you don't buy I never knew about controversies. Although I am someone who buys anything that is good, I generally don't care about their story or other issues.
I have sensitive eyes too. My favorite eye cream at the moment is the one by COSRX. And my go-to moisturizer with spf is the Cerave Ultra moisturizing lotion spf 30. It doesn't bother my eyes like a lot of spfs do, and it has a soft matte finish which I love. It also works well on my neck! Love it. 😊
Have you tried the Vanicream facial moisturizer that contains an SPF of 30? I hate using a product that is not truly cruelty-free. But it is so hard for me to find products that don’t contain any of my allergens or don’t react badly on my skin that I’ve had to resort to some product lines that I would never buy if I followed my conscience. This is one of them. I don’t use it as my only sunscreen, but I can use it when my skin is unhappy with what I’m doing to it. I think of it as a medication. And thank you for saving me from buying the new elf products. I sincerely appreciate it.
I had a similar experience with the too faced lip liners. I didn’t notice any real plumping but they burned my lips. I had to wipe it off because it was still stinging after like 5-10 minutes.

Everything I tried worked well for my oily and acne prone skin. I tried the First Aid Beauty Cleanser (the one with oat milk or something like that) and the KP Be Smooth Bump Easer. Those were the only two skin care products that didn't work well for me. When I used the cleanser, my face was so itchy that I kept on scratching it and the KP Bump Easer burned my bikini line after I shaved it. Those were the only two products that didn't work for me and I wouldn't recommend repurchasing those two products.
YOU'RE so kind, Andréa. I love that you have such strong values and just want to say please don't sweat whatever people said about the Naturium thing. No one can nor should they be expected to keep up with every scandal, just do their very best and you certainly do. You're so consistent, you really do give life to your beliefs. 💜

I love the smashbox primer but not for 52 CAD. I use the ordinary high adherence silicone primer and I swear it's the EXACT same thing and only costs 7.80 CAD for the same amount of product.
I love the too faced lip liners and they do plump my lips. I also love the hella thick mascara. It doesn’t flake on me and it makes my lashes look long and full!!

Oh my gosh, watching that Melt eyeliner just wipe away is heartbreaking. I almost bought one but I didn't because of the high price. Now I'm really glad I didn't because it wiped away to nothing😑
I like the Melt eye pencil in Ivory when I apply it to my lower lash line. My eyes are very sensitive to anything applied to the waterline. I have Ivory & Cacao pencils. They're very pretty colors. When I want a more subtle lower lash line I use Ivory. I like to apply the Cacao pencil for a dark brown smugded lash line.
Do you think they plump the lips? It’s weird because the first time I wore one I didn’t notice as much burning but after that I definitely did so I don’t know what caused it!
Oh, I have one eye that is super-reactive, too! It will water like there will be no tomorrow. I can no longer use chemical sunscreen on my face, Milani eyeshadow primer, Maybelline Fit Me pressed powder, and a lot of eyeshadows. It is infuriating because it happened out of the blue. I hope you get it allnfigured out. I am still going through formulas in my collection.

What's the problem with ofra ? It's hard to keep up with. Tbh every brand is going to have a few questionable things. If you look hard enough It's going to be there. I don't support abh, and z palette, j*, jacklyn, but dang it is hard to keep up with. In short, it's up to each of us how we consume product.
I've totally missed something that has happened with naturism oh OK I'd never heard her mention anything about the line I can understand but I can't put this inn the same category as jacklyn hill who is problematic on many levels across the board xx

Have you ever tried Drmtlgy universal tinted moisturizer with SPF? I love that one, I've tried others but keep going back to that one. Check it out, they are on line.
It’s not very often that we hear negative things about Miss Charlotte Tilbury’s Blushes ,Highlights and Powder products her eyeshadow and foundation formulas yes but not her beloved blush and highlights lol , I just can not justify spending that much money on blush or highlights especially when you get such small amounts of product in the tubes like you honestly get hardly anything for a massive price tag. Let’s be real the myths have been broken on how much it costs these Brands to make their products and there’s nothing bougie about a plastic tube so the money isn’t going to packaging on her blush/ bronzer/highlight , yet she’s charging over 40 bucks USD way more in CDA for basic packaging and extremely small amounts of product I personally think this Brand is way way over hyped mostly due to Sponsorships imo . The only product in her line that I used to think was worth the money was Hollywood Flawless Filter but now that’s been duped and is available at much much much less price and I will never buy HFF again when I can get so many other options now at literally a 1/4 of price , now days we can get extremely good quality makeup at affordable ( well much cheaper because Drugstore isn’t really affordable anymore) prices at the Drugstore being Canadian I can’t include CP or Brands like that because they’re not available here and after we pay the dollar difference it’s definitely a much different price. It would be amazing to see Brands come to Canada then we could purchase just a couple items and worry about hitting that price point for free shipping because 50 USD today is 68 tomorrow it could be way more but it will not be less our dollar is very different and it’s not because we make oh so much more actually Canada is very expensive some Provinces much more than others and the World has seen a absolutely absurd jump in the basic cost of living here where I live in Saskatchewan it’s tripled from 2019 , and it’s forecasted to go up even more ppl are losing their homes because interest rates are going up every single Month at the Banks so Makeup Brands are raising their costs because they keep going up and they pass that down to us and more and more people are buying less and less makeup because we simply don’t have the extra money anymore . So the Brands are feeling even more of a hit and raise prices even more to make up for their losses then add in shipping more Brands used to have free shipping at that 50$ limit they either raised it to 75$ or no longer offer free shipping so if you look at the stand point of Non Americans we are taking a huge loss on the dollar as it is then add on minimum 35$ shipping we are now looking at 85$ for something that was 25/30 $ USD so many ppl are no longer able to buy makeup like we used to and when we do buy it , it better meet our expectations or it has to go back because money means something entirely different today than it did 3 yrs ago so I watch multiple reviews on just 1 product now before I buy it because that 30$ L’Oréal Foundation could literally be , butter, bread , cereal and milk for Breakfast for a week for my kiddos and yes you will not find a L’Oréal Foundation under 30 bucks even on sale where I live . I do not buy makeup like I used to I used to buy tons of new stuff all the time now I only buy when I’ve run out of something and don’t have something else to use in its place .
That naturium brand bs was a few years back. No surprise you didn’t know and if you don’t watch a ton of skincare channels you’d never know. It was played down quite a bit I feel and a lot of people didn’t care. Seriously don’t beat yourself up. People could be a little nicer and let you know the problem instead of assuming you just don’t give a shit. 🤷🏼♀️ Edit. And your basically like one of the few people that even gives a crap about cf status anymore and that’s important for me anyway. So thanks on that
Naturium has excellent products; I personally use their shower gels, spf's and azelaic emulsion... I've tried their vit c and the eye cream and both irritated my skin... I stopped following Susan Yara, the co founder of Naturium, because I think her success has gone beyond her head. The last two videos I watched of her, she spoke about certain brands she had bought to try for the first time and I did not like her "my brand is better" attitude. I simply stopped following her; it does not mean I will stop buying the products which actually works on my skin. I do not think that she is a humble person anymore though.
You use whatever brand you like. I sure wouldn’t stop using a brand because a few people are mad about something, and half the time that can’t even tell you exactly why they’re boycotting the brand. I’d have to really investigate and find out what the brand did. I’m betting the majority of the time they won’t even do anything bad enough for me to boycott them. You simply go by YOUR standards and YOUR beliefs and if it’s fine with you, then keep using it. If we boycotted every brand every time they did something to make us a little mad, we wouldn’t have any brands to use at all.
Sometimes these videos can be misleading. Majority of the people who don’t like Fenty makeup and say their products are overrated are people with dry skin, seeing as it’s more of an oily girl” brand.
I’m actually a big Fenty fan but this mascara wasn’t great. These videos (and really any video) are just someone’s personal opinions and experiences with products. It’s always important to do your own research before purchasing products too!
I don’t think it’s misleading at all. Every brand has products that are a miss. Fenty has a lot of good products but they also have products that are not great like their eyeshadows. I don’t think skin type has anything to do with it, imo 🤷♀️
I live in Canada, I look at US prices and cry...(ok, not really, but thing ugggghhhh) , why do I have to pay double, and sometimes triple what the product costs in the USA. When brands run their great sales on products sometimes I get sucked in...and then when I get the final bill including exchange on the money (about 38%) duty + additional taxes (so I pay the tax in the State + taxes applicable where I live in Canada (13%) and then shipping charges a savings of even 60% off is completely eaten up by all the additional charges :( I have to laugh sometimes when I see someone like Emily Noel (whom I love) do a video of "a whole face from the drugstore under $10" ...and I think, lol...if I tried to do a whole face for under $10 I'd be trying to do the whole face with a lip balm and a lip liner, maybe an eye liner 😂. All I can do is laugh, I know I definitely don't have it as bad as some Countries...Australia - for instance, their prices are even higher than Canadian prices- yeash! It's a good thing we don't "need" make up to live, but it's interesting to just look at the differences around the world. It's a big world but on social media it becomes a small world as we can be chatting with someone from literally the other side of the world - which is really super cool!
There are several controversies surrounding the owner. The one that made me drop the brand was they posted a problematic video on Instagram. In the video an influencer used a slur against Asian people in it during her tutorial. I don’t remember what it was exactly but I remember the owner’s response to the backlash wasn’t great.
🤦♀️ I respect everybody's opinion but it is upsetting that people focus their attention to whatever drama in the beauty community... If I see something that grabs my attention, I simply buy it and try it. End of story. This is not about supporting a brand or not, it is more like whether it works on my skin or not... These days everybody is extremely sensitive and feels offended by everything...🤷♀️
That’s fair and I think a lot of people feel that way too. I think the drama surrounding brands can be blown up or over exaggerated sometimes but at the same time since there are so many options these days it’s nice to be able to choose to support brands that align with your values too if it’s something you want to do.

That's why a lot of people (me included) can't put tretinoin or other actives or ingredients around the eyes and down to the neck area, they are very reactionary.

I’ve read that the Tarte blush wands are very glowy, I wonder if they might give you that luminous blush effect that you were hoping for from the Elf ones. Obviously more expensive, though, lol. They’ve been on my radar lately for that reason but I’m really trying to hold out because I already have so many cream and liquid blushes… 😩

I feel the same way about the elf halo glow wands, the only one I actually somewhat like is the bronzer and it doesn’t even show up, the blushes are so patchy!!! I feel so bad that I I bought 3 blushes, a highlighter, and a bronzer!
I love the Fenty mascara. The first one, nope this new one with the fibers is my jam
I have oily skin, and am in my 40’s.. all of a sudden, Amy face cream ( and I use mostly high end products) anything I would put on my face, and bring down neck.. all of a sudden no matter the face cream/ I would get a neck rash- but not on face.. so after many fails at neck creams.. I tried Earth Harbor’s neck cream ( it’s the only one they have for neck ) and my neck has had no reaction.. and it’s so soft! Just wanted to let you know of something that did work for me on my neck.. Great video!
It’s great that us conscious consumers can make these choices. I buy products that perform well/quality and if the brand aligns with my values even better! But more often than not some purchases I make are from companies/stores that virtue signal, ie Maybelline, Target, etc. To each their own!
I purchased a Merit Lip oil. I almost used it up completely. But one day (3-4 months after purchase) it's like the formula turned. It's started feeling like I was applying sand on my lips! It's was soooo gritty.
Not repurchasing again!
I got the Charlotte matte blush in Dream Pop (the red) from Influenster to try and I can get it to work on me but I have trouble with patchiness as well, and it dries so fast. I definitely have better cream blushes for much cheaper, I'm not a big liquid blush fan overall but had high hopes for this one! (PS love seeing you in purple again! 💜)

I wasn't a fan of the Fenty mascara either, it didn't do much for my lashes and was really wet. I don't like it when mascaras are so wet as they smudge a lot. I did like the CT blushes though, mostly the shades and how easy they were to use. About those brands you mentioned you don't buy I never knew about controversies. Although I am someone who buys anything that is good, I generally don't care about their story or other issues.
I have sensitive eyes too. My favorite eye cream at the moment is the one by COSRX. And my go-to moisturizer with spf is the Cerave Ultra moisturizing lotion spf 30. It doesn't bother my eyes like a lot of spfs do, and it has a soft matte finish which I love. It also works well on my neck! Love it. 😊
Have you tried the Vanicream facial moisturizer that contains an SPF of 30? I hate using a product that is not truly cruelty-free. But it is so hard for me to find products that don’t contain any of my allergens or don’t react badly on my skin that I’ve had to resort to some product lines that I would never buy if I followed my conscience. This is one of them. I don’t use it as my only sunscreen, but I can use it when my skin is unhappy with what I’m doing to it. I think of it as a medication.
And thank you for saving me from buying the new elf products. I sincerely appreciate it.
I had a similar experience with the too faced lip liners. I didn’t notice any real plumping but they burned my lips. I had to wipe it off because it was still stinging after like 5-10 minutes.

Everything I tried worked well for my oily and acne prone skin. I tried the First Aid Beauty Cleanser (the one with oat milk or something like that) and the KP Be Smooth Bump Easer. Those were the only two skin care products that didn't work well for me. When I used the cleanser, my face was so itchy that I kept on scratching it and the KP Bump Easer burned my bikini line after I shaved it. Those were the only two products that didn't work for me and I wouldn't recommend repurchasing those two products.

I love the smashbox primer but not for 52 CAD. I use the ordinary high adherence silicone primer and I swear it's the EXACT same thing and only costs 7.80 CAD for the same amount of product.
smashbox makes excellent primers but that price is truly ridiculous.
I love the too faced lip liners and they do plump my lips. I also love the hella thick mascara. It doesn’t flake on me and it makes my lashes look long and full!!

I like the Melt eye pencil in Ivory when I apply it to my lower lash line. My eyes are very sensitive to anything applied to the waterline. I have Ivory & Cacao pencils. They're very pretty colors. When I want a more subtle lower lash line I use Ivory. I like to apply the Cacao pencil for a dark brown smugded lash line.

I keep hearing about how much the Too faced lip liners burn. For me I don’t find them uncomfortable at all.
Do you think they plump the lips? It’s weird because the first time I wore one I didn’t notice as much burning but after that I definitely did so I don’t know what caused it!

Skin around the eyes and on the neck is so much more thinner than rest of the face. That is why those areas are more sensitive.

Oh, I have one eye that is super-reactive, too! It will water like there will be no tomorrow. I can no longer use chemical sunscreen on my face, Milani eyeshadow primer, Maybelline Fit Me pressed powder, and a lot of eyeshadows. It is infuriating because it happened out of the blue. I hope you get it allnfigured out. I am still going through formulas in my collection.

It’s not very often that we hear negative things about Miss Charlotte Tilbury’s Blushes ,Highlights and Powder products her eyeshadow and foundation formulas yes but not her beloved blush and highlights lol , I just can not justify spending that much money on blush or highlights especially when you get such small amounts of product in the tubes like you honestly get hardly anything for a massive price tag. Let’s be real the myths have been broken on how much it costs these Brands to make their products and there’s nothing bougie about a plastic tube so the money isn’t going to packaging on her blush/ bronzer/highlight , yet she’s charging over 40 bucks USD way more in CDA for basic packaging and extremely small amounts of product I personally think this Brand is way way over hyped mostly due to Sponsorships imo . The only product in her line that I used to think was worth the money was Hollywood Flawless Filter but now that’s been duped and is available at much much much less price and I will never buy HFF again when I can get so many other options now at literally a 1/4 of price , now days we can get extremely good quality makeup at affordable ( well much cheaper because Drugstore isn’t really affordable anymore) prices at the Drugstore being Canadian I can’t include CP or Brands like that because they’re not available here and after we pay the dollar difference it’s definitely a much different price. It would be amazing to see Brands come to Canada then we could purchase just a couple items and worry about hitting that price point for free shipping because 50 USD today is 68 tomorrow it could be way more but it will not be less our dollar is very different and it’s not because we make oh so much more actually Canada is very expensive some Provinces much more than others and the World has seen a absolutely absurd jump in the basic cost of living here where I live in Saskatchewan it’s tripled from 2019 , and it’s forecasted to go up even more ppl are losing their homes because interest rates are going up every single Month at the Banks so Makeup Brands are raising their costs because they keep going up and they pass that down to us and more and more people are buying less and less makeup because we simply don’t have the extra money anymore . So the Brands are feeling even more of a hit and raise prices even more to make up for their losses then add in shipping more Brands used to have free shipping at that 50$ limit they either raised it to 75$ or no longer offer free shipping so if you look at the stand point of Non Americans we are taking a huge loss on the dollar as it is then add on minimum 35$ shipping we are now looking at 85$ for something that was 25/30 $ USD so many ppl are no longer able to buy makeup like we used to and when we do buy it , it better meet our expectations or it has to go back because money means something entirely different today than it did 3 yrs ago so I watch multiple reviews on just 1 product now before I buy it because that 30$ L’Oréal Foundation could literally be , butter, bread , cereal and milk for Breakfast for a week for my kiddos and yes you will not find a L’Oréal Foundation under 30 bucks even on sale where I live . I do not buy makeup like I used to I used to buy tons of new stuff all the time now I only buy when I’ve run out of something and don’t have something else to use in its place .
That naturium brand bs was a few years back. No surprise you didn’t know and if you don’t watch a ton of skincare channels you’d never know. It was played down quite a bit I feel and a lot of people didn’t care. Seriously don’t beat yourself up. People could be a little nicer and let you know the problem instead of assuming you just don’t give a shit. 🤷🏼♀️

Naturium has excellent products; I personally use their shower gels, spf's and azelaic emulsion... I've tried their vit c and the eye cream and both irritated my skin... I stopped following Susan Yara, the co founder of Naturium, because I think her success has gone beyond her head. The last two videos I watched of her, she spoke about certain brands she had bought to try for the first time and I did not like her "my brand is better" attitude. I simply stopped following her; it does not mean I will stop buying the products which actually works on my skin. I do not think that she is a humble person anymore though.
You use whatever brand you like. I sure wouldn’t stop using a brand because a few people are mad about something, and half the time that can’t even tell you exactly why they’re boycotting the brand. I’d have to really investigate and find out what the brand did. I’m betting the majority of the time they won’t even do anything bad enough for me to boycott them. You simply go by YOUR standards and YOUR beliefs and if it’s fine with you, then keep using it. If we boycotted every brand every time they did something to make us a little mad, we wouldn’t have any brands to use at all.

Sometimes these videos can be misleading. Majority of the people who don’t like Fenty makeup and say their products are overrated are people with dry skin, seeing as it’s more of an oily girl” brand.
I’m actually a big Fenty fan but this mascara wasn’t great. These videos (and really any video) are just someone’s personal opinions and experiences with products. It’s always important to do your own research before purchasing products too!
I don’t think it’s misleading at all. Every brand has products that are a miss. Fenty has a lot of good products but they also have products that are not great like their eyeshadows. I don’t think skin type has anything to do with it, imo 🤷♀️

I live in Canada, I look at US prices and cry...(ok, not really, but thing ugggghhhh) , why do I have to pay double, and sometimes triple what the product costs in the USA. When brands run their great sales on products sometimes I get sucked in...and then when I get the final bill including exchange on the money (about 38%) duty + additional taxes (so I pay the tax in the State + taxes applicable where I live in Canada (13%) and then shipping charges a savings of even 60% off is completely eaten up by all the additional charges :( I have to laugh sometimes when I see someone like Emily Noel (whom I love) do a video of "a whole face from the drugstore under $10" ...and I think, lol...if I tried to do a whole face for under $10 I'd be trying to do the whole face with a lip balm and a lip liner, maybe an eye liner 😂. All I can do is laugh, I know I definitely don't have it as bad as some Countries...Australia - for instance, their prices are even higher than Canadian prices- yeash! It's a good thing we don't "need" make up to live, but it's interesting to just look at the differences around the world. It's a big world but on social media it becomes a small world as we can be chatting with someone from literally the other side of the world - which is really super cool!

There are several controversies surrounding the owner. The one that made me drop the brand was they posted a problematic video on Instagram. In the video an influencer used a slur against Asian people in it during her tutorial. I don’t remember what it was exactly but I remember the owner’s response to the backlash wasn’t great.

If I see something that grabs my attention, I simply buy it and try it. End of story. This is not about supporting a brand or not, it is more like whether it works on my skin or not... These days everybody is extremely sensitive and feels offended by everything...🤷♀️
That’s fair and I think a lot of people feel that way too. I think the drama surrounding brands can be blown up or over exaggerated sometimes but at the same time since there are so many options these days it’s nice to be able to choose to support brands that align with your values too if it’s something you want to do.
