Sorry I didn’t go ahead and buy your car. I did watch the auction end and I was hovering over the bid now key on my computer. I’m still chasing that 5ltr one in green ( currently overpriced). I’ve also extended my search to include another F-Type Coupe in green, which is a rare colour for that car. If you need any help with the storage, you have my number so please give me a call. Sorry to say you were in the wrong here. Don't put a car on for sale with no reserve if you are not honouring it. It's such a frustrating time waste if you are looking for a car. That said, it's a car worth keeping, so I hope you do.
I was absolutely willing to honour the winning bid, the buyer decided not to for personal reasons. Considering the winning bidder didn’t call me or come to view the car I am assuming the time invested by the winning bidder was minimal but I did apologise for assuming I was being messed around because I got a bid from an eBay account created a couple of days before the auction ended and 0 feedback.
If this was LHD you could get 25K EU minimium in mainland europe for this in a week without trying too hard - England is a mess, my 3L Subaru is up for £6k, extremely rare 6 speed but insufficent interest - one chap asking what are the date on the tyres - does he expect brand new tyres on a 17 year old car that is getting sold - maybe I should include free petrol also!
Yes totally agree… some buyers are just so unrealistic with what they think they ca get for peanuts. This is why I am looking/waiting for a subscriber rather than a buyer.
@@KausarClassics selling for 8k is nuts, it's not your car that's the problem it's the economy and state of affairs with the country itself. My Subaru is fixed at £6k, it's the bottom line I've drawn before I decided it's just not worth selling for anything less, despite the issues with parking it's causing. A similar car in Japan is at least £10k, probably more

Seriously buddy....you have turned it from a bit of a basket case into a lovely car so why the hell sell it?? I would keep it and store it. Maybe (if you have access) build another garage in your back garden? I run my XK only from April to end of September. I store it in my garage on a trickle charger and start it once a month to warm the engine and stir the antifreeze. Then it doesn't get to see salty roads (or much rain). When you take it out of storage it's like a 'hello again' all over😂🤣 You have probably got it now to a stable state having done all the heavy work and it'll hopefully only need an annual service and tyres. You know I speak the truth 😂

Also....just saying (because of the work environment I'm in) it's best not to publish your personal movements on line....that last drive video could give away where you live and the fact you might not be there. Just saying because careful what you put out into the public domain buddy 🫣🤔. If you fancy a meet up with the XK's in April mines back on the road in a weeks time and I'm only up the road near Wendover 👍

No I did offer to honour the sale… the winning bidder just didn’t like my attitude because of not being contacted prior and a new account. It put him off the whole thing which is fair enough

I would if I was really keen to sell it… but I would rather mention the sale to subscribers than the channel to potential buyers. I really would like to give it to a subscriber to be honest. I’ll be losing so much money that I would rather lose that money to someone that has followed the journey of this cars rescue

I just get the impression you dont really want to sell it. I would keep it If I was you unless you really need the cash. Just does not make sense to make two big losees on cars you have repaired and brought up to good condition.
I don’t want to sell it at all but need the cash… hence the idea a subscriber would buy it and then give me 1st dibs on it really appeals to me. I think I also just enjoy fixing up cars and creating this content. For me it’s about the journey… as soon as I have arrived at the destination… I don’t know what happens. Must stop doing this so putting it in storage where it won’t get my attention might be the safest thing for it 🤣🤣🤪🤪
@@KausarClassics Unfortunately this the worse time to sell them. Mine has gone down by about £5K in 9 months, hence I'm holding onto it. I do love my XK to but might swap it for an XF one day for economic reasons and also a bit more leg room . Good luck with whatever you do.

But to give it away to an unknown person is just not worth it at all. Rather put it in storage to be honest. Bet prices will be much better when I return in a year or two as well. I truly believe this is the floor price for one of these. You can’t or shouldn’t expect to have a SORTED XKR X150 for less than £12k. Anything less and you are looking at repair that will almost certainly take you over £12k. I have tried and failed twice

I follow ‘Life on Cars’ also, another genuine XKR enthusiast with a lot more knowledge than myself. I have a 2007 black XKR with 79000 miles on her which I absolutely adore. Bought it in August 23. If I can get mine anywhere near the condition of yours then I will be even more delighted. WHAT A CAR!!! I am sorry your circumstances have forced you into this, genuinely. I hope whoever gets this stunner has the same enthusiasm as you. A beautiful colour with almost, if not, perfect paintwork to boot. Good luck in Malaysia matey! Top man. 😩

I do think the new paint can be further corrected and ceramic coated to really make the paint pop! I hope the next guy does that and whatever else she needs. I still hope we can all form a rolling club of Jaguar XKR ownership if anyone ever does need to let theirs go, it should go to a fellow enthusiast who will give you first dibs if he sells. I truly hope to see this one and the one I sold Spencer again (the black one) and no doubt it will only come back more improved.
