I just got a golden retriever puppy and his name is also cooper Update: Cooper is now turning 2 this june and what a good time we've had since. We did everything with him, from camping in the middle of nowhere, to long walks on the beach. My dad's a farmer so he also gets to run around the farm all day when im not home. Getting him was probably the best thing i did since i was not in a good state back then, but my life has brightened up ever since with him in my life

I hope wherever her little sweet soul is she’s ok until I see her again. Trevor I am really happy to see you all ok especially cooper. I wish you the best with cooper and your other dogs. I remember cooper as s puppy.🙏

It will take hormones a while to regulate. But bad behaviour and "urges" should decrease noticeably within 6-12 months. Some dogs will never stop some of those behaviours, for whatever (or various) reasons. Humping can also be a dominance behaviour, and any behaviour can become habit, especially when their humans intentionally or unintentionally reinforce it (giving attention, laughing, etc, when they hump).
It's a myth that humping and marking are solely caused by a dog being unfixed or fixed with getting the dog fixed. Being fixed or not has no major effect. Marking is more of a potty training issues and humping is a training issue.
How do you get him in bed without having a ton of fur in your bed ? Or do you just change your sheets every day? Bcs i would like to have my golden in bed to but it would just be to furry .
"Lucky guys" to be just having him fixed.. Trevor inspried me and I got my Dreamdog.. a golden named Bill! He got knocked down while playing with a great dane on our puppy-course which happened to result in a crack in his front "elbow". He has had surgeries, physical rehab and all that. He is 4 years now and 15 minutes of playing is bad for him... he takes a rest and his elbow is all stiff.. makes me so sad to not being able to play with my buddy...
He is a CUTIE! I had all my fur babies neutered as well. It really is better for them. I have done many rescues and people don't realize how much high maintenance Goldens are. So many end up in the shelter after about 1yr or 2 yrs because they need alot of weekly brushing and do shed alot. Hoping Cooper will be okay. Both dogs are cuties......

Yes change sheets everyday or clean them all the time. I sleep with my 2 German shepherds and Labrador on my bed everyday.
I neutered my German Shepherd at 6 months because of aggression issues. He’s been amazing since, I wish cooper a very easy recovery. ❤️
