I may be biased, as I own a PP; but, while I greatly respect your AP Jumbo, I love the Nautilus, and even much prefer it’s band. The contrasting polish/satin finish is stunning. Two stellar timepieces.

As much as i enjoy the nautilus and how it fits on my wrist, i am not a fan of the dial layout of this particular model so I would go with the much simpler ap for this head to head..
My ideal choice between the two brands with models that have similar functions, would be the 26574
from ap. the dial is just so well executed that i could forego the power reserve function.
regardless, excellent acquisitions and videos as always.

I like the fact you show the whole 'package' as it were. Boxes, papers etc and not just the watches. For my tiny wrists I'd have to go for the AP Royal Oak in 36mm. I think its discontinued now? What's your opinion between the 14790ST/O/0789ST/07 Vs. a 14790ST.OO.0789ST.10 ? Also I hear APs are a bit more delicate movement wise?

Prices actually more or less the same. You would also pay at least an additional 9-10.000 for moonphase complications. Personally I think the most beatiful Royal Oak and Nautilus are the original ones without the complications. They simply distract the lines in the original design

Patek wins here. Having a Nautilus is a privilege. It’s very difficult to get one and the watch movement is night and day with AP one.
For now it’s about 8-10 years of waiting list... but if you want to be on this list you must be someone. That’s why my boss bought one 5711 at 55k on gray market instead of 30.
I understood when I looked at this beauty for real. It’s the grail watch without doubt.

Having worn both for a while I eventually settled on an AP 26331 (it’s basically a jumbo with a chronograph). Don’t get my wrong the 57xx series is fantastic but to me it really falls behind on the bracelet. Patek went back to using pins in the links not screws and that to me isn’t good enough on a watch like this. The Royal Oak bracelet hugs your wrist do damn well.
The 5712 may still be my grail watch and I was thinking about it......until I tried a Lange Zeitwerk. I think that might be my ultimate unicorn and I won’t have to wait years for it. The reality is, with a significant sales history I can get on a 5712 list but not on a 5711 without owning a notable Patek already

Both come with really excellent boxes but Patek’s box and papers are just have an even more luxurious feel. This is why Patek is #1 and any serious collector will tell you that it doesn’t get better than Patek. Even someone like Mr. Biver who worked for AP, helped restart Blancpain and today runs Hublot is most proud of his vintage Patek collection.

I don't know.. was just odd looking and feeling and I didn't like the clasp after wearing it for a few weeks.. This is a wonderful video to watch.
I want to ask you for some advice on cleaning the Royal Oak Chronograph and the 5711 because I live in a humid and hot country and constantly sweating during daytime wear, so I hope to clean the watches regularly.
Can I ask how often can I clean these 2 watch’s, and how to clean it properly without damaging the watches.
    Thank you

I think your new purchase should be a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph. You have to unite the holy trinity, and its a gorgeous watch and it comes with a no tools quick release bracelet plus a leather and a rubber strap

What I dislike at both, there is no “on the fly” adjustment on the bracelets. So for me is Rolex the more practical choice. On my glidelock I use 3 positions during the day.

Beautiful watches . I'd take the PP but would be happy with either one.

AP is sportier and PP is classier. The best is to have both. I love both. But the way I dress and the way I live my life, AP is better for me. Furthermore, the way PP increased the size to 41mm with 5811/1G, today I prefer by far 16202. It has a better movement and nothing will ever beat size 39mm.

Patek is in a class of its own...I started with Rolex but as I matured I appreciated the marvel that’s Patek.

AP is a cool watch-design is very industrial futuristic. I might add one to my collection if I have a good year. I've got Seamaster Bond and Bond Chrono, Rolex Air King, Rolex Day Date white gold, a few Seiko's, Casios and others. As said love more budget reviews there isn't that much of a difference in caliber between the dearest and cheapest in my eyes just the design.

Both stunning watches!! I'm just puzzled as to why AP kept the second hand off this model. I would miss that mesmerizing sweep.

The Royal Oak is the original creation, the Nautilus is just an inspiration/copy of the Royal Oak for Patek Philippe.
The Royal Oak has more class, look so much better and have more masculinity than the Nautilus.
The Nautilus looks like the women's version of the Royal Oak.
    x)
Personally, I really love the lines of the Royal Oak as the Nautilus does me no effect and has absolutely no power of attraction on me.
    (For me, it's a women's watch)
No matter what the experts may think... I don't care!
Gerald Genta himself recognized that his most beautiful creation was the Royal Oak... ;)
And even historically speaking, the AP has inspired so many creators in the industry while the PP "copy" absolutely not... Only one of them will have marked the history of his imprint.
For me, there is absolutely no match...

No Comparison. The Patek Nautilus! Both watches were designed by Gerald Genta and therefore beautiful, but the watchmaking and build design of the Patek is far superior. Resale if you ever decide on a change is much easier and higher on the Patek. I have a Patek Nautiluc Chrono and if i sold it tomorrow it would be more than three times what i paid for it. I have a similar specification AP Royal Oak Offshore and it's resale value is less than when I bought it. Also customer support from Patek is exceptional. I recently took my wife's quartz AP into their official shop in Monaco for a battery change. No luck... They need to send it back to AP for a simple battery change and that will take two months. With this kind of customer service, I will not be buying anymore AP's.
