- Since day one, we have had a pot of ever-stew going. Its the easiest thing to make to ensure you get the most out of everything you catch. Basically, every time we catch something we throw it in the stewpot. Even if you cook it a different way, all the left overs end up in the stewpot. That especially means every bone. As long as you boil it Every 24 hours for at least 10 minutes, it will never go bad or make you sick. The only exception being, if it's very hot out, boil it every 8 to 10 hours. You can still eat it after it spoils, if you boil it, but it won't taste good.

This was very emotional and almost sad because its sad to say goodbye to such a great chapter... please keep in mind all of what you learned about this adventure and what you learned about yourself, thank you so very much because you have taught me a sense of gratitude and appreciation of life itself... the pure blissful ness of how much fun you have just living off of the land with a friend is truly envious! Something that caught me and I love? Tiny thing but often forgotten! You checked your feet! That's something that many don't think about and diabetic or not it's crucial. Injuries or scrapes can cause huge issues if not cared for. You're amazing!

This has been a great survival/bushcraft month. My wife has said that I am the worst hunter/fisherman on the planet. Thank-you for proving her wrong. This was great! It showed how truly hard it is to survive in the wild (that's why I love Alone). Plugging some of the fire starter companies was a bit much (IMO nothing beats cotton balls dipped in vaseline) but I get it, you have to pay the bills. Again, thank you for doing this. I love the outdoors and love that I can learn from people like you.

Fowler you need to do a 15 day survival challenge in Michigan, the weather is unpredictable and fish are great, deer, possums, squirrels, and more stuff is in Michigan.

Zack, gotta say I loved the series and the fact that you are open about your faith. Not trying to take anything away from you at all because you absolutely survived the 30 day challenge no problem. As a fellow believer I noticed that the vast majority of your diet opportunities (Turtle, snake, crawfish, racoon, opossum, rabbit, catfish, rats and boar) are all considered "unclean" by God according to the Old Testament. I'm curious how you think you would have faired if you had limited yourself to only "clean" animals? Thank you for enduring the wilderness for our entertainment, looking forward to the next series!
I make prickly pear jelly here in southern Utah. Boil the fruit to get the juice so I don't have to deal with the seeds. Make prickly pear lemon jelly too.
22:50 me and my dad found a turkey nest while we were out looking for mushrooms, there was about 10 eggs. They’re slightly bigger than chicken eggs and are whiteish/tan with black speckles on them.

I use to do this survival stuff as a kid and would be in the woods 24/7 building stuff and catching food and starting fire to cook the food. Then I got into Boy Scouts, they showed me a bunch of different things. Now that I’m older you inspired me to want to do this again and when my son gets a bit older I’ll be teaching him. I love this channel. I can’t wait for more survival videos. God bless Fowler and same for your girls. I feel that pain when I don’t have my son around. It’s like a constant emptiness or a faint void in your heart. But then when you see them after so long the void fills with joy and love.

Used to hunt with an old timer who started a pot of stew on open weekend of deer season and kept it going with whatever he could catch or shoot until the end of season. He called it mulligan or sometimes opportunity stew because he said if you get the opportunity to put something in it u better or you'll be hungry
As to your "Ever Stew" , I thought a quick story might fit here. My grandpa was a hobo during the great depression and jumped railroad all across the states looking for work. He told us there were hobo camps scattered here and there along the tracks across the country and that
in each camp there was a big pot of "perpetual stew", meaning it was going all the time. Those hobos just arriving were encourage to ADD to the stew in any way they could, caned goods, vegetables, maybe even meat.
In closing, stews are the BEST survival dish, no nutrients are lost in the cooking process.
Amazing Series learned alot from this and had a great time watching them it will be sad that they are coming to an end!
