  • BEST budget LENS POV street PHOTOGRAPHY - 50MM 1.8

The 50mm 1.8 lens is one of if not my favourite budget lens, when i first got my sony a7iii the 50mm was the first lens i got. The 50mm allows you to get sharp portrait photography as well as a nice focal length for walking the streets. The 50mm lens gives you a nice compression ratio when shooting between f1.8 and f4 after f4 the 50mm 1.8 is still razor sharp with some compression noticeable. The nifty fifty is sharp all the way up to f10 after which it becomes a little less sharp but still professional.
taking into consideration the price point you cannot go wrong with the 50mm F1.8 Sony - or any make [there all the same]

You take the most simplest things and turn them into phenomenal pieces of art. very inspirational as a photographer. I wish people in the US were that excepting of a stranger snapping pictures of them, people in the large cities over here tend to get violent and irrational very quick. I always have to find models or people who are willing to trade sometime for free photography.

When it comes to the framing, I used to do it as well, white frames, 3 horizontal posts then 3 vertical posts. I don't anymore. I use mainly a 4x5 crop and roll I tout that way, just provides this cool seamless look in my feed now.

The 50 was one of my favorites on Sony, but my absolute go to lens was the 28mm f2. That is hands down the best street photo lens for E mount, and it's also cheap, and the build quality is actually pretty nice, better than the 50. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. 😉

When I first starting photography everyone recommended my first lens to be 50mm 1.8, I really hate it cause is not wide enough( every beginner want to shot super wide pictures and knew nothing bout low light cause always crank up the ISO) as I moving on nifty fifty has become such a big help in the process learning about photography.

I got a DSLR camera recently and would like to start getting into and doing stuff like this. I have a Olympus d5 micro 4/3 sensor with a 25mm lens which should be equivalent to 50mm lens on a full frame sensor.
But I still feel like the shots in this video are far narrower FOV which makes his shots more focused on one thing. While I capture everything in front of me

I recently got the Fujinon 50mm f1.0 and I was hoping that it would be an upgrade from the 56mm f1.2 APD, but the image quality was worse, which was disappointing. BUT every time I watch a street photography video in the rain, I get the urge to do that too! But I can’t with the 56mm because it’s not weather sealed, and I’m like “should I keep the 50mm (weather sealed!) JUST in case I wanna do photography in the rain? Is that dumb?”.
I don’t know. I have it for sale right now, but part of me wanna keep it. My only other weather sealed lens is the 90mm f2.

7:14 I've wanted to tell that you actually in some countries would be vaunted for it, especially when you are so close to some people like woth taxi driver.
I did today session also, 3h of pure 600 street rain photos and after rain. I wasn't too close to people cause there people are quite aggressive. On the day you can see few peoples who will say it too you but the best thing you can put some vibes on and shoot. You will not have to worry about what you do. This is my advice for some people who didn't used to it and feel sometimes awkward like me.

I made the mistake of watching this while eating. You tossed the camera in the air and I choked on my broccoli in horror of how badly that could have gone 😂
Always look forward to watching your content, very relaxing (except when you toss expensive babies in the air) and gorgeously composed and edited pics!

I can’t tell but is there a grip/cage/enclosure you have on the Sony? If so would you mind sharing a link of where to buy?

Isnt an APS-C lens such as the 50mm that you used on a full frame camera supposed to be bad? I just bought the sony a7 III and i was looking for a 50mm that was on a budget

It’s not an ape-c lens. It’s a full frame lens.

Ohh I see, I thought it was the 50mm with the OSS that's an APSC lens, my bad... Very good photos by the way, keep up the good work.

i think you are using gopro for your pov video? does it ever over heat? if it does are you getting around it by taking a break instead of taking a one long video recording?

Hi. Love this vid. I'm a bit confused about photographing strangers. Do you not have to get their consent to post to social media? Isn't there any legal standings to doing this? Also have you ever had a stranger confront you about taking their photo without permission? I only ask as Id love to get out and do this kind of thing myself, just don't want to get beat up or sued in the process 😂

Legal in most countries to photograph in public

In most places it is indeed legal to record people, but its nice to ask to do it, or when its asked to be deleted, to delete it.
I had to deal with a street photographers once with my friends, when it looked like he took pictures of the youngest girls from our group (they werent in focus too much), and he kindly deleted them.

If someone comes up to you or gives you a weird look maybe just let them know you took their photo and give them the option for you to delete it if they’d like

Here in Belgium it's totally illegal unless if that person is part of the background and isn't really the main focus
