Bought this board for my first board. Experience, 4 days of lessons in CO and was riding blues. After all the reviews and research for a beginner/intermediate board, I went with this to level up my skills. Still have yet to take it out, needs to get colder here in the Midwest.
@ we shall see, just wanting something to progress on for a season and then look for a different board. If I can’t hold edges out here, I could always just skip to the front of the line and go with a mega death. Ha! (Sarcasm).
Frontier is much stiffer/more directional and has a disruption in the sidecut to give you really good hard snow grip. It also sets back more in powder for easier float. Get this if you mainly ride the mountain and are leaning more towards freeride/don't ride switch as much. Go Outerspace Living if you want an easy/forgiving twin thats much softer and playful for riding switch, hitting the park but also riding the mountain.
Capita makes great decks. Nice review. If you had to bring one board with you to a far away resort, and the conditions are TBD, which one are you bringing?
Thanks and agreed. The BSOD if you are asking which Capita Board. It really comes down to personal preference though and how you ride. If you like to set it back in pow but want something that's easy switch, like me, the BSOD is my call.
@thegoodridesnow ok nice yeah the bsod has been on my eye and the mega merc as well since you can find them clearance prices now. What about any board out there? If you're bringing one, which one are you bringing? NS cougar?
That's an expansive question and hard to answer without writing up several pages. I'm a quiver rider so having one board is my nightmare. Probably the United Shapes Cadet for everything except really hard snow but if you want advice I need info about you. hit me here to give me the info I need to help you much better. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
No idea because you didn't at least give me Boot Size/Weight/Height, and the Make/Model/Size/Year Board you have now and how it rides for you. Or hit me here if you want real help. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
I was thinking about picking up a Jones hovercraft 2.0 160 and a set of Union falcors. Do you think this would be a good pairing? Looking to charge hard through chunder and pow and do some butters and natural jumps. Thanks!
It could work if the 160 is sized right. I like the Force and Atlas better with their full size discs from Union for that board but the Falcor is pretty responsive too.
Do you think a 156 would suit me better? I ride a 157 w Burton free thinker currently but jones website suggests a 160 for my specs. I’m 6’2 180-185 with a boot size of 11.5
Been riding this board for many years it was/is my first brand new board. It’s great.
Thanks for your take.
I’m a complete gear freak and I just wanted to say that I appreciate your reviews so much! Merry Christmas from Germany!
Thanks! That's greatly appreciated and hope you get it deep this holiday season.

Hope the edge hold works for you in the mid-west.

Merry Christmas James!! Wonderful output as always!! 💥
Many thanks and right back at you! Hope you get it deep this holiday season.
How does this board compare to the Jones Frontier 2025?
