I love mine! I bought a pre assembled one and out of box self calibrate and up and running around 5 mins. So far almost 1k hours of run time and its out printing the raised 3d Pro we have at work! The capability of the parts are there for sure.
Probably because you got the black one.... :-) Unless you fungled something up in the build, 98% of issues I run into are first-layer related. Make sure the nozzle is close enough. The first-layer test print needs to peel off as one piece. The single zig-zag line needs to stick and peel off as one consecutive "string", but not be too close that it cannot be peeled off. The solid square should come off without any separation as one solid piece of plastic. When peeled off, the bottom side should look almost perfectly smooth.
