That’s why you need to read the manual and not rely on TH-cam. We all miss something. Also the speed issue is always funny. You get way more then the average person needs even at 20 you can steam Netflix. It’s a great product that gets super critical reviews. Most are not trying to run a business when camping. It’s pricy luxury. People spend way more the cell boasters and hotspots and get no where near the speed. I don’t get it.
Is that gen 2 dish any better, a lot of us starlink users are getting serious upload speed stability issues as of lately, mostly just issues for us who play online games with starlink, it was great up until a month ago, but i can load a youtube video super fast still no problem with download... just wondering if you noticed any difference when you changed the dish to gen2? or did you never have the gen1 dish? i have gen1 dish on my roof rn
@@mpmedia441 i still get really good speed tests, i am not saying it is bad. just not perfect for gaming yet. They say when 12000 satellites are up that it will be a 10gb connection. Long way to go still, it still is kind of beta but works great.
@@SynC061 i am in NS Canada, east coast. The ping is decent, always sits around 35 to 45, which is usually good enough for gaming, my problem lately is the jumpy upload rate. You cannot see it on a regular speed test, but when you stream to twitch using OBS studio streaming software you can see the live feed of your upload stream and in the last month has got really jumpy. It seemed slightly better last night, I test once every day now. I was able to stream fine on twitch all winter tho even in a big snow storm, this is a recent issue, some ppl say the network needs updating. I do not think it is because too many dishes are being sold, because my download speed has got faster lately actually. There was a 2 hour outage around 3am last night, usually that means they are fixing or updating.
Even if the satellite is offline, you still can connect to the router with your phone and you can tell it to stow which will put it back in the position that it was shipped with. Open the app when connected to the Starlink router, go to settings and pull up the bottom of the page. There you will see stow.
@@mpmedia441 ok I just watched the Short video you made. That's crazy. 😳😳 Have you done a factory reset? Maybe that will fix it , it's worth a shot since nothing else works.
Outrageously expensive at $140/month...considering that you get throttled data anywhere except the howling wilderness. No, sorry, if I'm paying that much, I'm not going to be happy with 20 down. Starlink is penalizing people for using the RV service...not sure why if they are just going to throttle the data.
I think you’re missing the point. This is targeted for Rural areas. I have Gig up/down at my home but my Ranch in Texas has zero options outside of satellite service. I’m happy paying $100 for fiber at home and equally happy paying $135 for starlink at the ranch.
We created a follow up video to get Stow Mode to work! th-cam.com/video/vDnprhbP5wo/w-d-xo.html
It has a ‘stow’ mode in the app
i have a feeling we're going to get that comment a lot...
go watch our short!
Use the Stow position for transporting
we made a follow up video!

I’m practically paying double that for ViaSet and barely getting 40 mbps and I only get a certain amount of giga monthly

Starlink is 110 a month lol
"Outrageously expensive" HA. I pay Telus 150$ a month for internet that barely works out in the forest
