Hi Cam, also make sure the motor trim angle is in the tucked under position. If the bow is then too low , bring trim angle out until its the way you like it. Cheers Cam. Love your work.
Get yourself a tiller extension for when you're out on your own. It will allow you to use your own body weight, by moving forward, to balance the boat. You're going to have many hours of enjoyment from that setup you've now got!
They are fantastic boat trailers. We have had one for years and used it up north a lot. Still in A1 condition despite rough tracks and red dirt. We used to have a Little Bulldog but we had a heap of problems with that. Oh one thing, make sure to put little padlocks on the pins when using it at public boat ramps. Some people think it is funny to pinch the pins...
Thanks Marc, I’ll be so nervous leaving it at boat ramps. It’s just too easy to steal. I may even just pack it back into the canopy if it’s a bit of a dodgy ramp.
Love the trailer have the exact same one, just finished using it up in Onslow. With your tinny mate, you might need to trim the engine up a hole or two by the look of it when you were flushing it out. You want the cav plate level with the bottom of your hull, will help it plane and cruise 👍
Hey mate, a little tip for ya is raise your motor up a couple notches @8:35 it’s running parallel to the transom, you want to bring it up a bit so it’s basically square to the boat itself it that makes sense?
Hi Cam, grab some old 20l water containers as forward wait. You can fill them at the boat ramp when heading out and on your return simply empty them out.
Nice light little trailer! A few comments are telling you to adjust your trim, but you being a newby to boating are probably unsure of what this means. There will be a pin and a series of holes at the rear of where your motor mounts to the transom. Moving this pin changes the way in which the force of the propeller pushes the the rear of the boat. You will have to do some tests next time your on the water and find the sweet spot to suit on you own, then with passengers and then depending on your load and conditions. It will be most likely only 2-3 different pin locations and you adjust it to suit. Hope this helps. Cheers.
Hey Cam good vid, fantastic to see good Aussie engineering being avail 🇦🇺👍 Great to see your set up a real rippa! Can’t wait to c u reeling in those fish mate. Stay safe 👍👍👍
buy a set of "nauticus smart trim tabs" and put them on the boat around $200 aud , they will keep the front down, and get you on the plain quicker , also help keep you straight, in a following sea , most marine places have them ,not electircal , just spring powered they worked a treat on our boat ( plastic , no rust or galvanic corrosion)
Great concept and well designed I wish I could do that with my boat lol When I had my tinny I used a tiller extension when on my own to get the weight forward especially when it’s too rough to plane and your in displacement mode trying to keep the nose down Can’t wait to see the whole process of getting it off the canopy and into the water Make sure you record your first catch even if it’s a blowy
Just checking if you noticed MDC have a new range of hybrid camper out ? XL15-4 may be worth a look for you if you trust the brand and want to go “a little larger “
Hi mate I have a similar one little trick mate grab some bolts the same lengths as the pins as I have had my pin's stolen while out fishing , Lucky my ones sezed Just be careful
How long will it be before you get rid of the hand winch for a lil 12v winch. Cant imagine that being to fun after nurmerous times. Nifty trailer may have to search it out for the kayak.
@@WildTouring cheers for that. I moved over from the uk in February last year so just getting used to being here. I have a 4WD, camping trailer and a rooftop tinny. Loving your country and making new friends along the way.
Not Sure if those pressed trailer couplers are legal. I had a flat pack trailer with a similar hitch and when I registered it I had to fit a different hitch.
Looks excellent mate. About the only thing that would annoy me is having to carry a second hitch for the boat trailer. I think I’d chuck a do35 hitch (or whatever you use) on the boat trailer too.
Yeah I agree! Just cringe at the thought of paying $500 for one though! I bought an aluminium hitch that I thought would be a good compromise (a lot lighter than the steel alternative), but the bloody thing doesn’t fit!
Hi Cam. Missed you guy's. One tip for more weight in front of the tinny. A big drawer for Chloes barbie household. 😀 That tinny looks absolutely indistrucktable. Godspeed.
Hi cobba, have a look at Travelling Australia - living the dream TH-cam channel, he has some fantastic ideas for setting up a roof top tinny, loving your travels see you on the road cheers
Nah not at all. It’s all a compromise, but I can work within my weight limits and still have all the comforts/toys I need. I get great economy, sit on the speed limit everywhere I go, can fit down most tracks and self recover if I get stuck. Also never been a fan of touring in something that has to be packed up whenever I want to go for a drive.
I can’t believe you put that together with no swearing, no beer and no missus nagging “ you know what your doing” well done! 🤣🤣🍺🍺
😂
Adjust the outboard trim in when you are by yourself and back out when you have more people with you.
Bloody brilliant mate, good to see some Aussie know how put to good use here. The guy has put a lot of thought into the trailer👍
Awesome little trailer by the looks. Looking forward to all the tinnie adventures.
Fishin' for tinnies! Ya got one, reel it in!
best thing ive ever seen by a bloke named Gavin
Hi Cam, also make sure the motor trim angle is in the tucked under position. If the bow is then too low , bring trim angle out until its the way you like it. Cheers Cam. Love your work.
Haha seeing it in bits I was surprised to see how strong it is! Crazy bit of kit mate very neat
Amazing ingenuity hey!

Cheers mate, it’s on the list!!
nice finally another colab with pete!
Can’t wait!!!
Yeah, yeah. Great trailer. But where are Tiff and Chloe? You know they are the stars of the show....
😂 I know I know!
Great Aussie design 👏👏
Tinnie trip with Pete from WA camping adventures....?
BRING IT ON!!!!
YES!!! Can’t wait!!!

@@WildTouring nice shiny objects at boat ramps don’t last long
@@WildTouring We use a padlock on the safety chain to the 4x4 and small keyed alike locks on all the pins. Since we did that we haven't had a problem.
Way to go mate. Ripper trailer Cam
What a wicked trailer you have a great set up now especially if there is only one person
This trailer is a genious construction 👍
What an amazing piece of engineering 👍
Nice work Cam, looking forward to seeing you and Pete on a trip again.
Can’t wait!!
Nice mate 👍

What a great idea bloody beautiful cam let’s go fishing 🇦🇺🍻🍻👌🏼🎣
Hey mate, a little tip for ya is raise your motor up a couple notches @8:35 it’s running parallel to the transom, you want to bring it up a bit so it’s basically square to the boat itself it that makes sense?
Cheers Jack, I’ll try it mate!
Hi Cam, grab some old 20l water containers as forward wait. You can fill them at the boat ramp when heading out and on your return simply empty them out.
Cheers Jonesy! Was thinking of doing that!
If you use a long tiller extension arm you can sit forward on the front seat and control the boat. Keeps the weight balanced and rides well.
Cheers Matt, going to try one!
Boating life!! Oh yeah! Enjoy.

What's the brand of cushions, they look comfy

Good idea. Im definitely concerned about it being pinched when left at boat ramps too.

Haha it’s not too bad. But we’ll see!
Nice one Cam, I can see a small electric winch that could be attached to that lithium setup perhaps???
Definitely an option, I’ll see how I go!
Wow, it's like a flatpack trailer. Can you get them from Ikea? haha
Enjoy the tinny mate.
😂
Geezus $3000 AUD? You have to be kidding.
Rough roads and it will crack up in no time
Definitely, it’s not designed for it.
Boat stays on the roof for rough corrugated roads.
awesome mate. where did you put the boat in? im new to this too and it looked like a great spot.
That was Riverton bridge kayak launch. It’s only a tiny ramp, but it was a windy day and I knew it would be quiet there mid week.
@@WildTouring cheers for that.
