i suggest you watch makoto vids. most of them require just ONE sa2 bar. one grab is all you need to deal 100% stun on mid-sized stun bars like ryu/ken. even if it doesnt stun, makoto has the option of crossups and a wakeup game heavily in her favor. safest jump ins, fastest dash in the game, a 5 feet kara grab after tick. makotos overpowered period.
Anyone think that Makoto's aerial move reminds you a little bit of Gen? I know she doesn't have the 2 styles to switch between but some of her moves are pretty straight forward. I wonder what her ultra looks like.

Although I am a big fan of J I think something is very wrong on that match up. 1 super from makoto = 60% in the first round, 2 supers+combo = 100% damage. Doesnt even give your opponent a chance for a comeback (which of all games, this SF3 normally does best).

Goddammit Capcom! Makoto could never do any of these things with her Abare becoming an Ultra rather than a super. The projectile and wakeup game's have been bolstered in Street Fighter 4, making it damn difficult for her to get in or set up like she can in 3rd Strike. Knowing that, why did you see it fit to DELIBERATELY nerf everything she had going for her anyway?
@leon1680 Akuma's roundhouse was already good... But his low health makes him hard to play in high level competition. And why complain about Makoto? Dudley if he is at all similar to his character from 3rd Strike will be one of the most highly played characters in SSF4.
@whitley1 she can still kill Akuma in pretty much 1 combo...his health is 850, & her super cancel to ultra does about 600 damage. i've won plenty of comeback matches with this combo from one well timed crouching MP to Hayate
lol like they say. makoto one grab = death against akuma. im surprised at the amount of skill in this video which was in 2000! and look at match with that kara demon. this was 2000!

the akuma player played the matchup aggressively and got punished for it. no teleports, barely any safe demon flip setups.. the only logical counter to that is to give him low health/stun. mak earned it

Ok right at the 36 sec mark if I was playing I would never been that close up on her knowing she can grab you and hit you with a combo. After I attacked I would've jumped back and start firing shadukens (however you spell it) and kept my distance

Makoto has the advantage, but her anti-air doesn't work against the dive kick, so it usually depends on who gets momentum.

damage was less during the first hit before the stun because the super was apart of a combo, weakening it a bit.
Akuma takes the largest amount of damage from attacks also. Kind of why he died in one combo.
