Did You know that in the ep bingo there are drowings that refrense the ep that bluey meet Jan-luc and them holding hands when bingo is 😭 in the closet.
It's so hard for me to choose which is my favorite reference, I love them all and how they are Incorporated in The Sign.

I still can't believe the "house with a pool" thing has been set up since season 2. That's either fantastic foreshadow or an incredible coincidence. Either way it's amazing 😂
Joe Brumm on the "Gotta Be Done" podcast said that they scanned back through previous episodes to find elements that could be called-back in "The Sign":
"But it was nice just to scan back to the previous seasons and just find those elements because what it means for the kids watching is... the whole episode on one level is about all those little things that happen... I scanned back a bit and tried to fill those gaps in. And then, you know, it was kind of perfect. Winton's dad and the terrier's mum... my layout department has been setting that up for three seasons we knew he had a pool and it all just kind of worked out."
The buyers wanting a pool was the first idea, and the team connected it to Winton's dad having a pool, and it all fell together.
Same with "muffin cone" watched the episode last night and turns out, it's the same. The Wedding : either wedding or setting up for the wedding, traffic : chasing after frisky, ballerina : End dancing scene

The pool callback from Helicopter is probably the best one because it is objectively the most important one. The payoff between Cornelius and the Terriers' mum is still the best part for me. Having two half siblings (not that I've ever thought of them that way), the blended family rep was always going to be important to me, but I assumed going into The Sign that it was just going to be cute background payoff (something you say neat, that was cute, but isn't really important) and the episode would move on. Instead, it was both the backbone and the heart of the episode, and it was so well earned.

yeah even just watching some of the first season 1 eps you notice how much all the kids have grown
8:48 Bandit does say "I hated crumbed," instead of "I hate crumbed." So, maybe he used the past tense of "hate" to indicate that he hated crumbed as a kid, and doesn't hate it anymore. Or he could've just been using it for the pov of the story.
You may be onto something…
honestly, if you look at the battered fish that the rest of Bandit’s family are eating in the Fairytale scene, the fish in The Sign looks much more like that than the crumbed.
There's another one from stickbird that was referenced on the Bluey Instagram!! "Why would we need to throw things really far?" when we see Bandit throwing away his angry and upset, it mirrors how he throws the sign!! That one is my absolute favorite

Well, at 9:08 Bandit when talking about his past does say “Ugh, I hated crumbed.” So he hated it in the past and perhaps grew to learn to enjoy it due to that experience with being jinxed.
There's also the scene where Bluey and her friends howl sadly, which has happened on other episodes such as "Shadowlands" "Cubby", "Wild Girls", etc.

@@aussiegirlmargie i absolutely love and admire that you are exercising caution and restraint when considering the idea of getting a heeler pup! as cute as those things are, they are a LOT of work - especially if you don't live on a farm. because of bluey, a lot of people are getting them without doing proper research and unfortunately most of them wind up in the pound for being hyperactive and nippy - both of which they were bred to be. odd and sad that they get punished for that!

My favourite reference is the bluey album. I went crazy when I saw that one. I think it's really cool that they referenced this, but its also a very neurodivergent thing to cling to music when stressed/overwhelmed and I'm not trying to say she's neurodivergent necessarily but it's nice to see it on screen since it's something I do so often
I LOVED seeing all of the references sooo much! my favorite part is at the end, when there is like a bunch of references and then you just see greenie pop up. i feel like with the music and everything it ties it all together so well!
One of my favorite bits is while they are dancing. I love the music, the girls all dancing together, and the references to previous episodes that they show through their dance moves. like the cancan and floss!😅🤣
I didn't notice the second reference to Baby Race, where Chilli is staring at the spot where Bluey's first steps happened, until the second time I watched The Sign. Oh gosh, I started crying even harder, even though I knew at that point that they wouldn't be leaving. But that's my favorite callback.

Probably the baby race one, but every reference was good. But these references HELPED the heelers not move.
If Lila and Bingo never helped the caterpillar, the butterfly would never had shown where Frisky was.
If Cornillius wasn’t divorced and never met the terrier’s mum, the digs “with no eyes” would never have gave up the Heeler’s house.
Not all, but some of the references were there :)

Oh dang you missed a call back to double babysitter when frisky and bluey have that moment together on mount Coot-Tha remembering the lesson they learned originally (it doesn’t matter what happened before, unless you try again, you’ll be stuck in the castle with the stinky dragon forever, and is perfectly punctuated by “we’ll see” motif
So many double babysitter references!!! Good find!!
My personal favorite was Greeny from Mum School. However, the Dance Mode track played during the wedding is personal for me because I can look back at the track more positively now. While I understand why people like the episode, I hate Dance Mode for some very personal reasons that is mostly tied to how Bandit, Chilli, and especially Bluey acted towards Bingo. However, one of the positives I have about Dance Mode is of course the soundtrack which I must admit is an amazing soundtrack. Unfortunately, I couldn't really hear the track for while without thinking about how mad I was at Bandit, Chilli, and Bluey for peer-pressuring Bingo and taking her feelings for granted, and how I felt when my family treated me similarly in high school (look, i said my reasons for hating Dance Mode are personal so I'm not going into more detail). However, with the use of the track in The Sign, I can now hear this amazing track and associate it with an episode I adore and resonated with me more. Once again, if you like Dance Mode, that's fine, just know that some very personal stuff holds the episode back for me.

My theory on 5:27 could also be why Bingo called Margret or whatever her name is a silly old watermelon head because she is wearing a watermelon swim cap but the theory of Rad wearing a watermelon hat is also a good observation.

The “ mystery pocket “ if you rewatch the scene in the sign where the song where Lazarus drug starts playing Bandit gets the phone call and he slowly walks to the sign you can see his phone disappear into the back of his fur. ( or just vanishes in thin air)
I like to think some of the characters their fur patterns on their bodies have a pocket hidden among them to store items.
