- Heyy peeps! The video is finally out!
In this video i will be comparing £1 watercolours vs the Daniel smiths dot chart (for fun). I saw the paints in the kiddy crafts section, £1 for 21 colours and was curious, i mean you can't hold a price against a product without trying it right? XD so i hope you like this video!!
Lemme know which is your fav result :)

ARELEESHAAA THANK YOU!!!
I like those Daniel Smiths, bc they are smooth 😜😁
ahaha!! if you were a paint brand, you'd be Daniel smiths XD
Lemme get some fries with this ketchup... lol. Whenever I see these cheap vs not as cheap art supply videos I sometimes feel bad that the cheap stuff always seems to loose... However, its still interesting on how you made use of the skin tones. I really like how you add layers with different colors. For me, cause I'm basic and haven't had that much practice yet, would use black or a darker shade of that color to shade, but you would use blue. I think it's very interesting. I like the right one cause it's smoother and more natural. But I do really like in the cheap paints, the extra details you added to the hair to make up for the lack of (wait for it) PIGMENTATION. Lol, idk why I love it when you say that 😂
Poppa!
Ketchup yes! did you see that glooop! I think they loose because these ones are SUPER cheap! they were also from the kiddies section! although i liked the finished result, you can seeing the painting struggle right? Im sure this is different with student grade watercolours! I mean i really like Winsor and Newton watercolours i think they're really good! yeah i like to use different colours to make shadows instead of black, :) using just primaries and a limited palette really helps get into that habit! Pigmentation aha oh gosh! my accent is so odd to listen to... Thanks so much for watching it all!!!!
Ayart96 Ew, such gloooop. QKNSJSWBSB MY PLEASURE, I LOVE YOUR CONTENT. Gurl, I love your accent! OWN IT GIRL, IT'S GREAT! Lol, but I do understand when you're editing your voice and it's like... weird.
More of these please...😁
This video really was worth it!!! It's amazing to see this contrast and you always make it entertaining. It gave me a panick attack when you hairdryed the water 😲😝😝
Thanks so much pips! Its nice to hear that since its my longest video yet! ahaha oh gosh! i legit didn't think the hairdrying through... XD
Great video! Keep up the work!🤨
I love watching people do art, very nice video!!
-sincerely, a big fan from instagram lol
Awe thank you so much! i am so happy to hear that! and yeeyy so glad you came over to check my video out!! :D Thanks for all the support!!!
You got more layers with the 1$ paint then I can even get with my cotmans lol. I am not sure if I am using too much water but mine always start lifting the under layers after the 3rd layer
Ahaha! i don't think they were quite layers more of a mush but thanks!! XD
Its a tricky one, I've only used cotman watercolours until really recently which i now use Kuretake or my Daniel smiths dot chart. I guess really its all about trying different techniques or just making sure the below layer is dry! It could also be because of the paper!? I've recently started using Winsor and newton cold press paper and its so good!! It really holds the paints well! :)
Hello, how to get and mix face colors in watercolor, please teach me, thank you🌻🌼🌻
For £1, it's not that bad, of course it's not a masterpiece haha but it is decent enough considering the price.
Hehe, oh hey!! Yeah for basic layers and potentially more illustrative paintings it wouldn't be so bad, but since i like my layers it turned gloopy :) XD
Ayart96 hi! ^-^
I can definitely see why layering was a pain
