    When I first saw this on Instagram I thought it was pattern welded. Had to look twice 😂 very creative idea 👍

    Thank you for that. I am not going to use the technique on knives but I have some other projects like making table lamps from recycled materials where I think this could add to the look.

    Very cool look! Think I would leave the darker etch if I were to order one

    Your videos are terrific! My son and I have just started making knives and watching videos for useful tips and methods to avoid wasting hours doing something that can take minutes. Yours is the most down to earth channel we've found, and the name is nice. Thumbs up for all the content (even the stuff that is not knife related, like coffee roasting, I'll be trying that out myself :-))
    We'll be watching more of your channel!
    By the way, if you have a merch store, we would totally buy and sport some "Simple Little Life" sweatshirts or T-shirts down here in Oregon!

    That looks pretty great! I like the splatter pattern, and I think it would look pretty cool on a bigger chopper/machete type of blade, but I think you would have to include the bevels into the pattern since the bigger blade would most likely have handle scales.

    • @Simplelittlelife
      @Simplelittlelife  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I think it would be sweet to do this to the bevels also on a bigger blade. Added bonus: less hand sanding 😆👍

    I like it! You might try an airbrush to apply some different patterns. The vinyl idea would be pretty cool also. Thanks for the video.
    Take care!

    Can you etch a knife AFTER duracoat finish is applied? Either etch or mark. I have the personalizer plus, and need to etch 2 knives that have been duracoated. Thanks!

    • @Simplelittlelife
      @Simplelittlelife  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t know for sure but I would think no. I haven’t looked into duracoat but if it doesn’t conduct electricity, this won’t work.

    • @hurzelgnurk
      @hurzelgnurk 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Simplelittlelife I doubt that it would work. To quote a faq "One of DuraCoat®'s attributes is its extreme ability to resist salt corrosion." But one might be able to get discolourisation and hence be able to mark.
