We love your channel and really helped us deciding on getting our motorhome and places to go. We have only had ours 2 weeks. PS we love Dora and Pablo. Have a look at Chris Sloanes videos as he has just had his full van pimped! lol Also, we have just bought a mattress topper from dunelm, the fogarty one for our drop down bed. It was £90 for the king size.
We found your channel a few weeks ago and love it. We’ve been working through it from the start . Chris Sloanes video this week is about him wrapping his motor home, might be worth a look.
@@Stchristopherofatlantis be careful with the heat as your van will probably have sandwich based walls so to much heat will soften the adhesive within the walls so just be careful with the heat.
I used to have a car detailing company and we had a contract with Mitsubishi to remove all of their decals from new pick up trucks that customers didn’t want the decals on. All we used was heat guns at low temperatures as well as tar and glue remover to remove glue residue as well as a full polish on the vehicle after removed due to difference in colouring from weathering. It’s not hard to take them off yourselves, start with a low heat setting on heat gun and work the setting higher until decal starts to peel free, never keep heat gun in same area for too long.
Rollerteam decals are the same from year 2017 . Was told it would cost £2000 for a replacement from rollerteam head office . One I would not pay that for something that will happen again with the stock they have . There are loads on the road with the same problem. I contacted the Trigano company saying there was a problem, but was told it’s out of warranty period.
Hi Andy and Claire, in 2019 we had new carpets made for our motorhome at a company on your doorstep! Kustom Sport Caravan Servicing and Repairs, Unit 6 Middlewoods Way, Wharncliffe Business Park, Carlton, Barnsley, S71 3HR made a complete set of carpets for our Elddis motorhome. Because they they make carpets for motorhome manufacturers, they even had the templates for our vehicle so everything fitted perfectly. If necessary, you can send them measurements or a homemade template and they send you samples so you can choose colours etc, I can definitely recommend them.
In cold weather use a hair dryer to remove decals. Don't get too close and a tar and glue remover for residue. There are some companies on the net which if you put in your van details will tell you which carpets you can order.
Sometimes when you remove decals there is a colour difference underneth so you might have to have the same shape decals and just cut them around the windows dont take them out just for some stickers.
Denatured alcohol removes most adhesive residue, alternatively you can drink other retail alcohol and you will probably worry less about the decals, at least for a bit!!

Any good carpet shop should be able to use your old carpets as templates and then use a machine to whip the edges. Alternatively google caravan carpets and you will find several U.K. based businesses who offer the same service.
Hi guys. I went to the carpet factory bought a 3x2 meter off cut of a good rubber backed carpet, took it to the carpet whippers with old original carpet shapes for him to use as a template, we were lucky, they were ready in 24 hours and look amazing. The carpet was £90 and the whipping was £85.....our van is a 7.4 metre Hymer. That included some extra mats x 3. Also got a big piece of leftover carpet. Cost £185. an absolute bargain. We are in Chester. Caz n George.
@Stchristopherofatlantis we are good thanks. We enquired to Hymer re replacement carpets, it was over 500 quid. So to replace yours, that's the way to go, plus you get more choice on colour and patterns, no beige or cream with dogs and boots!!! And well done on the Mod 1, I failed the first 2 as I clipped the cones. Passed on the 3rd. Mod 2 is easy, especially as you are riding plenty. My husband had it easy back in the early 80s, just did an emergency stop and passed!!!!
Instead of a thicker mattress, look online for a mattress topper. Usually memory foam. That will give you the thickness and comfort but retaining your original mattress
Dunelm have some reasonably priced toppers, not quite the right shape but a lot cheaper than specialist motor home/caravan rip off merchants, made mine a lot more comfortable
Watch the slaws . They had a new mattress from a firm in Bolton . We went to the same place this year & bought the same , best nights sleep since having our motorhome & ours was a French style , cost £200;00
To get price labels off cups, plates and such just spray a little WD40 onto the label wait a minute then wipe it off then a little washing up liquid to remove the WD40 and the jobs done no label or glue left
Hi, I've used a wallpaper stripper, (steamer) to give a wide area heating to the vinyl, it should come off easily. Just cut around the windows, no need to remove them. Good luck from New Zealand. ,😊
The look on Andy's face when Claire mentioned spending money to do the cushions 😆😆😆. I remember years ago, after a hospital procedure, I had a spray called Niltac (I think) and that was to help with the removal of plasters. Don't know if that would work for the decals ?
Hi, Where I worked we used to remove vinyl wrap,we found wallpaper steamers worked best, didn't get too hot to damage the grp unlike hot air guns,Autoglym also sell adhesive remover
Hi - we also have a 202. Last year we took our own decals off (do not need to remove windows, just use sharp Stanley knife). Replaced with exact same design at Lancaster Signs and can recommend. Fitted decals all in the same day. Hope this helps
Hi Andrew. I would suggest heating the foil before trying to remove it and I would try De-Solv-it Sticky stuff remover to remove the residue.I definitely would not remove the windows! I would trim the old decals as close as possible to the rubber window surrounds and the let the new decals butt up to it.
Hi Andy and Claire we are thinking of changing our carpets in our Burstner and we’ve found a place called carpets for Caravans Ltd in Carnforth. They will even come out to you and fit them for you or you can take your van to them, either way. They have all sorts of colours too xx
Acetone can affect the paint or clear coat But you can vinyl wrap over the vinyl there's loads of companies out there windows out is easy just need the correct sealant to refit Mattress used a decent topper Hairdryer to remove vinyl it's not that hard just need a good clay mittens to really clean the van afterwards
Can't you run a scalpel around the edge of the window lightly. Then, pull off the decals. Then apply the new ones the same way as most installers trim decals that way I'm sure. Good luck guys
Once you have the vinyl sorted, give Paint Seal from Nottingham a ring. They do ceramic coating, which is basically a thin coat of glass ceramic to the van. We had ours done last year and what a fantastic job they do, and it protects the body / decals and takes out any imperfections. There are a lot of companies out there doing this but Paint seal have their own product developed over years of experience
Hi both of you! I have used wd40 to remove decal glue and we had a mattress topper from Duvalay which transforms the comfort. Hope you manage to transform your pride and joy. 😊
Try walking back to a 1990 Talbot Express, lol that was our first. 15 Years on and we're onto a 2018 Elddiss - love the decals, but would still like something more "personal" to us.
Hi Andy. We have a Hymer Carado which is German built and our decals had shrunk in size. We took it to a vinyl company near Rochdale called "Broken Biscuit" and they removed the decals and replaced them with 3M vinyl which is high quality. Great job. Apparently many foreign manufacturers use sub standard quality vinyl. If you remove them yourself just use a hair dryer which melts the glue and they peel off easily. Get a sharp craft knife and cut close to the window. Dont remove the windows. As far acarpet goes, take your sections to a carpet place and pick an offcut. They'll use your pieces as templates to cut out.
Hi Andrew and Clair we went to Wharncliffe business Park at carton n, we had our caravan carpets done there made to measure. He also does motorhome work and a small shop at side very nice people.😊
Hi Andrew. Best thing for removing the sticky / glue residue from a sticker is WD40 believe it or not. Works every time with no elbow grease or danger of damage pal.
Hi, I'm a retired panel/painter from the motor trade. Did you know about a Caramel wheel made by 3m body shop suppliers? You put it in a fast drill and it removes coach lines and sticker with out damaging any paint. After removing the sticker and glue wipe with panel de-greaser, job done . Hope this may help. Ps great videos.
Just watched your vlog about your decals on your motorhome, I had some carpets made to at custom sports at Carlton near Barnsley , you basically take your old carpets into shop they take a template of them and make new ones , takes a couple of weeks after ordering, also there used to be a vinyl wrap business in featherstone (green lane innovation square ) if still there. hope this helps you and a bit nearer for you , cheers Stuart wain.
Taking decals off isn’t as bad as you assume. Use something like a Black & Decker heat gun to warm up the decals and they will come off easily. Use a proprietary tar and glue remover on any residue. I’ve de-liveried a fair few 45’ exhibition trailers and never had an issue with that method
We used Regal Furnishings at Ilkeston for revamping our cushions, curtains and seats. They tend to have a waiting list but things can be arranged so that you can stay overnight in your van if necessary. :)
Hi guys, Ian’s carpets at Cudworth will cut and whip/bind carpets. Pick your carpets and he will use your carpets as templates. We bought (don’t laugh Claire) stretch covers from shein, we use them to protect the leather as we too have 2 dogs. Hope you get the decals sorted. We also had ceramic coating to our van, by a local to Barnsley guy, might be an idea once the decals are sorted.
I removed 20 year old decals from my Auto Sleeper...I was advised to warm the decal up with a hair dryer, and then slowly peel the decal off....If a bit becomes stubborn use an old credit card to ease it off....the plastic card will not scratch the bodywork..It was very successful for me.
When decals or a wrap is being put on they are cut with a thin bladed knife to get the shape required you can use this to cut around the windows. My advise is not to remove the windows. I am sure if you asked at a local wrap company they would do this for you and leave no marks.
The decals near the windows, suggest you take the decals off almost to the windows. Then take van to a sign maker. A reputable sign maker will take the last bit off. The idea is he has to have vinyl to grip to pull against, then he marks just round the edge of the window, with a scalpel knife but doesn’t cut all the way through the vinyl. As he pulls on the vinyl it will break off. Result should be no vinyl to be seen, no cut marks on the van. Then apply new graphics!
Use heat gun to heat decal but not to close as you don't want to effect paint, then use white spirit to remove glue no need to remove windows just use craft blade to trim round windows then get new decals. lots on eBay don't have to be original. 😊
The best adhesive remover I ever used is primarily used for removing medical dressings and is very effective, it is a 3M product called 'Cavilon No Sting Barrier Spray', it does not cost too much but works so well you wont need much effort and it will minimise damage.
Always use heat to take the stickers off…. don’t just peel them by hand in the cold. If adhesive remains on the van it’s likely due to not using enough heat. You may be best to wait until warmer weather. Another consideration is faded paint beneath the wrap that’s there now. So you may not actually be able to get rid of the colour difference. A gentle cut round the vinyl with a very sharp knife will get it off round the window. Unless of course the window has a front faceplate on it that’ll be able to be taken off.
Some good advice on here and I'd deffo attempt it yourselves, primarily because we have exactly the same problem 😅 so I want to see you do it before I do plus it'll make great viewing 😁😁😁 be brave 😂😂😂
I've got 14 year old van, the decals were very old school, swirls horrible. I used lowest setting on heat gun just got the end of decal and heated it as I pulled it. Worked a treat all off in 30mins. Ordered new ones of eBay and van looks 10 years newer.
What about using a modelling knife to cut carefully round the windows, I wouldn’t take the windows out might cause problems with water,, good luck just take your time Andy you got this 👍 …oh nearly forgot ! Well done you 😉
Good luck with your decal dilemma. And as for pimping up the interior Claire, you’ve got your work cut out trying to get a Yorkshire man to spend money. That being said, great seeing you both again. Keep up the great work 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Andrew, Claire, Pablo and Dora. Discovered your channel recently and oh you make us laugh. Love the content, travel tips etc so keep doing it please. I know it’s not the same Motorhome as yours but after some research we had carpets made for our Swift Rio 320 at Kustom Sport Ltd. Fantastic service, quick delivery, great carpets and price. You get carpet samples sent to you and they have the carpet patterns for most motorhomes and caravans which they email to you first so you can check measurements. Would highly recommend 😊 Hope this helps. Happy safe travels 😊
Definitely go with duvalay for the new mattress. We've had one for our caravan and one for our old motorhome and when we get our new motorhome we are getting another. Great service and you can pop along and test the mattresses. So comfortable you won't regret it guys. Loving the vlogs. Motorhome and motorbike ❤❤
What we would do at work is put your motorhome in our spray booth, stick it on bake cycle for 30mins at 70 degrees. Your decals would come away with ease. Use solvent wipe to clean off any residue. Try and find a local body shop with a commercial spray booth accommodates your motorhome 👍
@@Stchristopherofatlantis I think that might work, but what about the windows. I assume those windows were installed before the decals were applied, I think you just need to remove the caulk that seals the window and covers the decal.
Hi , guys I’ve used white spirit to get rid of residue before also used wife’s acetone nail varnish remover 🤣you could go round windows with a scalpel so you only take off sticker up to the window frame , problem I feel you will have is the paint won’t be faded underneath so you may end up having to machine polish the whole van so it’s one colour especially if your doing a different design 🤦♂️not a quick job tbh and expensive
In work i use 70% alcohol sanitiser to get really heavy duty sticky from the likes of gorilla tape off of metal beams, works well, other things we use is sticky stuff remover but with caution as once its been on something its very unlikely your stickers adhere to the surface as its greasy. But using both together and using the alcohol after seems to work well.
@@Stchristopherofatlantis probably not it was only one part and I had a look on auto Trader at the same year and model of my motor home and they had some that had removed the same defected vinyl
Harrison cash and carry carpets. 491 leek road hanley ST1 3ET did ours for the motorhome. Just took my carpets to them. It's just a carpet shop and they have a trimming service. So you can pick any carpet in the shop and I just left the original ones there and they were used as a template. As I write this they are making me 2 rugs for my living room as we could not find a rug we liked. And it's not expensive. Unless you pick the dearest in the shop. Definitely recommend this place.
Chris sloanes another you tuber based in the north east, recently had his decals altered, maybe he can let you know who did his, they did a great job Good luck with “pulling it off “

When decals or a wrap is being put on they are cut with a thin bladed knife to get the shape required you can use this to cut around the windows. My advise is not to remove the windows.
I am sure if you asked at a local wrap company they would do this for you and leave no marks.
Hi. Thanks for this info 👍
Hi. Thanks for this 👍👍
Very impressed with the amount of comments you reply to. Well done!
Hello. I reply to every single one!!! 👍👍
Use heat gun to heat decal but not to close as you don't want to effect paint, then use white spirit to remove glue no need to remove windows just use craft blade to trim round windows then get new decals. lots on eBay don't have to be original. 😊
Thanks 🤩
Would you have your own design for decals or a generic one?
We are having a St Chris design 😎
Hi Claire,Andy,Pablo & Dora 😂😂 you both nearly made me spit my tea out lol love ya both xx
Thanks for this 👍👍
@Stchristopherofatlantis your very welcome absolutely love ur videos well done 👏
The best adhesive remover I ever used is primarily used for removing medical dressings and is very effective, it is a 3M product called 'Cavilon No Sting Barrier Spray', it does not cost too much but works so well you wont need much effort and it will minimise damage.
Hi. Thanks for this info 👍
Hi Thanks for this 👍👍
Was it Steve Radford of the Roaming Radfords that spoke to you at the show about the decals?
Maybe!
Some good advice on here and I'd deffo attempt it yourselves, primarily because we have exactly the same problem 😅 so I want to see you do it before I do plus it'll make great viewing 😁😁😁 be brave 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I've got 14 year old van, the decals were very old school, swirls horrible. I used lowest setting on heat gun just got the end of decal and heated it as I pulled it. Worked a treat all off in 30mins. Ordered new ones of eBay and van looks 10 years newer.
Hi. Thanks for this info 👍
I’d just put it in the shop and get it done. It’s going to be a pretty big job. Good luck with whatever you do though. See you on the road.👍🚐
Hi. Thanks for this info 👍
Yes WD40 is amazing for cleaning sticky off without harming the surface.
👍👍
Hi Andy Sam the hubby says brake cleaner for the glue residue.
👍
What about using a modelling knife to cut carefully round the windows, I wouldn’t take the windows out might cause problems with water,, good luck just take your time Andy you got this 👍 …oh nearly forgot ! Well done you 😉
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🏍️ 😁
Nail varnish remover should get the sticky residue off
👍👍👍
Good luck with your decal dilemma. And as for pimping up the interior Claire, you’ve got your work cut out trying to get a Yorkshire man to spend money.
That being said, great seeing you both again. Keep up the great work 👍🏼👍🏼
Fingers crossed he agrees 😂😂😂😂
Sticky stuff remover works well Screwfix
👍👍
Hi. We are delighted that you found our channel 👍👍👍 Will check these guys out 👍👍👍👍
Definitely go with duvalay for the new mattress. We've had one for our caravan and one for our old motorhome and when we get our new motorhome we are getting another. Great service and you can pop along and test the mattresses. So comfortable you won't regret it guys. Loving the vlogs. Motorhome and motorbike ❤❤
Thanks for sharing!
What we would do at work is put your motorhome in our spray booth, stick it on bake cycle for 30mins at 70 degrees. Your decals would come away with ease. Use solvent wipe to clean off any residue. Try and find a local body shop with a commercial spray booth accommodates your motorhome 👍
Hi. Thanks for this info 👍👍
@@Stchristopherofatlantis I think that might work, but what about the windows. I assume those windows were installed before the decals were applied, I think you just need to remove the caulk that seals the window and covers the decal.
WD 40 is very good for removing glue residue guys👍🏻
Great tip!
Hello, This is great advice, thanks
WD 40 and a credit card to scrape the adhesive off.
Thanks
In work i use 70% alcohol sanitiser to get really heavy duty sticky from the likes of gorilla tape off of metal beams, works well, other things we use is sticky stuff remover but with caution as once its been on something its very unlikely your stickers adhere to the surface as its greasy. But using both together and using the alcohol after seems to work well.
Hello 👍👍👍
Hi I have a Benimar 202 .65 plate and my decals were deteriorating
Will you replace ?
@@Stchristopherofatlantis probably not it was only one part and I had a look on auto Trader at the same year and model of my motor home and they had some that had removed the same defected vinyl
Try white spirt to remove the glue
👍👍
@ it might take a little while to soften stubern bits but persevere with it 👍
Harrison cash and carry carpets.
Hi. Thanks for this recommendation 👍👍👍👍👍
Chris sloanes another you tuber based in the north east, recently had his decals altered, maybe he can let you know who did his, they did a great job
Good luck with “pulling it off “
Thanks 👍👍👍
