- I have sold my daily drive, started to use public transport, and bought a motorhome. Did I make the right decision? Follow us in this video as we pick up the motorhome and discuss if we made the right decision. Can we get all our stuff in there without going over weight and will a forgotten bag lead to embarrassment for us.

Hi Guys. Love your channel. We too hate rattles and have sorted out most with our third MH. Use padded pillow slips to wrap your oven grids and pans inside the oven. Also wrap the microwave plate. Use perforated matting for pots, ceramics and even wrap cutlery as you travel. Make pouches for mugs and glasses. Use soft boxes for storage from IKEA also small clips to stop movement. Finally buy felt pads and fix to drawer backs and doors as they too rattle against frames.

Just because you don’t have the latest newest campaign van ,car ,house or clothing you shouldn’t be or feel embarrassed .
Principals ,manners , kindness ,love ,compassion are all far more worthy possessions to have.
I’ve met many man6 people who have had everything new ,flashy and the most recent designs but have no relevant values which mean more than anything you have which in my opinion renders everything else worthless.
You nice people and I can see this in your behaviour and ways which are consistent

Congratulations on the MH! Love your videos. We caravan, tip: wrap the grill and oven pan in tea towels which you will need anyway, weigh nowt and stops them rattling about in the cooker. Another payload tip, If you use Blue and pink loo chemicals, Elsan do small bottles of concentrated. Enjoy!

Habitousis 😂 seriously though well done on making your first purchase. I know nothing about the brand other than they are Spanish and honestly have never come across an owner of the brand so offer no advice from experience. Regards the chasis it is well documented on keeping an eye on the electrics air bag / battery starting issues as you already mentioned don't abuse the clutch or the brakes and check levels and tyre pressures regularly. Don't advise long term talc usage. That sign at the end just creased me up. Just love you guys hamming it up and bringing a fresh view to the motorhome Community. Look forward to your travels. Oh and just watched as a newbie to your channel your yodelling in Switzerland vlog, so so funny. Love it.😅

I'm a payload obsessed to and just like Claire, my wife is fairly free and easy with loading up our MH, too. We live in Germany and maybe one day our paths will cross! Congrats on the MH, I hate rattles too. So if I give you ONE tip for rattles its wrap it, put it on it etc, non slip mat but the soft stuff with holes in. You can get it in beige to match the work top, and 1st Job put a piece over the glass cooker lid & leave it there all the time, (unless cooking obviously, someone will moan!!) Something WILL fall out of the cupboard above after traveling, The mat saved our glass more than once!! Enjoy your travels.
Oh yeah. Never even thought of something dropping out into the glass. Excellent advice. I will get some.

Could give loads more (poss unwanted) advice but don't want to come over as a now it all, cos I don't, but been MHing for years, but if you want any tips just ask. :)
A good thing for you to do is fuel up the van and fill the water tank then get the van weighed. That will give you what weight you have to play with. You can also get the van weight changed to a higher weight as long as the chassis and suspension are rated for it and you have the licence (C1) category to drive.

I really like the layout of your van ours has a rear lounge and we have to mess about making the bed up then taking it down next morning

Fully load your motorhome as if your going on a main holiday including fuel, clothes, water etc. take it to your local weigh bridge and see if your over or under on your payload - one litre of fluid = one kilo

Glad to see you are taking note of the payload you will be surprised how many motorhomes are on the road over weight. We have noticed a lot travelling with full water tanks all adding to the weight.

Biggest rattler is the cooker and grill tray. Tea towel under the glass and wrap the grill tray when travelling. Also take the tray out of the microwave cos that rattles too. We have all pans etc wrapped in shelf foam to stop even more rattles. Best solution is turn the music up 👍

Just at the stage of trying to decide whether i want small or bigger. Also with used car prices falling 8% in the last 2 months I'm hoping motorhomes might start falling. Will keep watching your great videos.

Congratulations on the new van. Love your comedy, keep it up. Talking about payload, don't believe what the manufacturers say it is, they weigh it without fluids etc. Fill it how you will be traveling and take it to a weigh bridge, then you will know how much you have to play with.

buy lots of tea towels wrap pots and pans in them and the grill pan in the oven. also, I wrap the microwave turntable in one as well. I use pottery cups and a car wash sponge cut two holes in it and put the cups in. I also use a dish drying towel on the top of my oven under the glass while traveling. and tea towel under the sink top.

For checking the payload for a new van to us, we use some suitcase scales and weigh each bag when loading, then anything else added later, you'll know what weight in the van. Enjoy your new van.

Treat ours exactly the same, even though you pay all that money, they don’t take much abuse 🙈 the wife pushed herself up on one of the low cupboards, yeah,, straight off 🥴😢 but managed to repair 👍. As for the rattles, plenty of tea towels needed to place around everything you can but you’ll still get that annoying squeak or bump 🙄😂😂 we were told to turn the radio up 😮😂😂. That said, parked next to the Danube and there's a flood warning, so moving onto Czech Republic where I'm flying home (Donny) 16th to collect my FJR1300 and raz down to France and Spain with me ⛺ wilding it int' mountains. I'm watching your bike channel remembering all the emotions, haven't commented as we alllllll go through the same learning curve, just have to be soooooo careful and cautious especially when learning as a 'mature adult' 💪🤷♂️🤣 best of luck with building up to the big bike 🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️ but the 125 looks great 🛵🛵🛵🛵

Congratulations guys nice motorhome it's great getting a new set of wheels. Ours has been in garage all year after coming back from France and Spain in April the big ends went pop got it back 4 weeks ago first trip out next week to Blackpool for 2 night stay to see the lights , if all goes well do a couple of more trips around the UK then back to France and Spain in April. So enjoy yourselves keep having fun keep smiling.

Silicone spray on main wooden joints stops a lot of squeaking where the walls rub due to the movement of the body

I think I’m going to get a California next year. We have had a caravan for a good few years now and I don’t think we’ll sell it yet but I want to be able to just drive off one Friday evening for a couple of days and I think the VW will be ideal. I can also tow the caravan with it. Best of both worlds.

I was just about to say that when you did about felt. Best thing to do is get basics in live in it then you find out what else you need. Get a bike. Crocs are a must😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 xx nice looking van. Bottle opener😅😅😅 good luck on your adventures and don't worry too much about pay load weight.

I've just started watching you two it would be great to bump into you somewhere. I am from yorkshire but live near Portsmouth now. Our rust bucket is a H reg Talbot Express Harmony. You are not novice at van life and have survived in a small space. So your new home is spacious. I don't know what kit you have already. I would recommend having plastic or melamine plates bowls and glasses so they are lightweight and won't break. We have both ways of cooking. Gad when on hook up we 7se a kettle and small toaster. You will be able to get loads of stuff in your van without worrying about the weight. We have a bike carrier to carry two bikes. We have chairs. We can even take a blow up 3 seater canoe. Just think lightweight storeage solutions. Make a list to how you might live and go from there xxx oh and first aid kit for those little accidents xxx we always have basic food stuff we take and then if we need to shop xxxx we even have games in the van xx have you got a name yet?
