the red ring tells you if the oil level is between low and high respectively. Make sure to run the bike up to temp and shut it off, let it sit for 1 minute on the center stand, and then check, for the most accurate reading.
Not sure why you wored this service from the right side of the bike? You know ... the removal of the oil filter is done from the left side of the bike. That does not require removal of any other component (oil cooler line) because you can just pull the filter out with no obstacles.
I do not have the service manual, but as an experienced bike mechanic I don't see how you can change the filter without doing it on the second gen. First gen, yes no problem.
Yes they can see EVERYTHING you do on the bike. Does it void the warranty? If you are in the US then no, there have been cases that show that a qualified person can maintain their bike (google magnusun-moss) but I always save my receipts and take a picture for good measure.
Very good video.thanks from France...
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video.
Thanks for the visit
Great video! Does the red ring on the site window spec for full? I put 3.5 litres in it just looks low. No manual either.

Why not use BMW Oil? I thought the book says we "must" use the BMW oil only? Please advise thanks
It is fine, but not available where I am unless ordered thru the internet.
Can I just use any OBD-II Scanner ??
No, you have to use Motoscan. Generic OBD won't work. Thank you germans.

Little recommendation, shake the bike slightly with handle bar and push down and up slightly, got more dirty oil coming out… thank you for the tips.
Thanks for the tip!
will the dealers/stealers see it if you reset service interval yourself? does it void the warranty?
