I know this was made several years ago now, but this is a nugget of gold. I have a good size complicated music making setup and sometimes end up with option paralysis or only learning to use gear in limited ways, rather than learning to understand instruments capability on a deeper level. I just purchased a Circuit tracks and the Drumbrute Impact to setup a separate mini set-up to break up the redundancy of my usual approach to music making. I especially loved that you use the drum track on the tracks to use as a sidechain even though the volume was at zero. This level of understanding the instruments in front of you allows to be creative in how you accomplish a musical idea. Great stuff as always, I love the content on this channel!
Small setups like this with no pressure is the biggest tip for anyone wanting to get into this. Don't worry about tons and tons of gear or software. Grab some drums, and a couple synth voices and just have FUN. Get lost in it.

Limitations breed creativity - everyone knows that there are two camps. I fell into the less is more camp a long time ago.

Hi ! Nice jam !!! Get both machines, long time ago for me too 😅 I try to find a mic to record external sound to feed my sampler like kitchen sound, door sound or wathever :) Maybe ambiant sound too ? Do the VideoMic NTG Shotgun is good for that ? 🙏
This video reaffirmed why I won't get rid of my Impact or Drumbrute. They are super limited but the sound quality is just great. Also you might want to go into your midi center for your impact. Sounds like the C.T. is being triggered by a shared numerical value from one machine to the next.
@@steventaylor3789 so on the tracks FX page there's the global on/off for both the reverb and delay, so they cannot be turned on or off independently. Some of the music I've made so far I would love to have then be able to be toggled independently as I do like to use the delay primarily for builds and such where as the reverb I generally mess with more in creating the idea for the track. So more often than not when I'm playing/performing my music for myself I will leave the delay on each ot certain tracks fully wet so as soon as I turn the FX back on the delay does it's thing, but more often than not I notice that I've had some reverb applied to some tracks that I want on throughout. So in having the reverb and delays toggles independent of each other I could still have the reverb on independently throughout the performance while having my delay toggling as I see fit, as opposed to flipping back to the FX and turning all the knobs back to a dry position
I'll have my own Circuit Tracks in a few weeks(it's on backorder), would be interested to see any tips or tricks you can reveal about it. I have the Impact as well and it doesn't see much action but I still love it.

I have used the Mulhollad Drive main theme in my DJ set up a few times .. It works very well layered with most kinds if techno drums.
