Samhain is a pagan holiday that became Halloween. Halloween started in Ireland. This is Celtic paganism it has nothing to do with the devil it’s mythology folklore it’s beautiful part of the Irish culture.
Dia dhuit as Éireann 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪 hello from Ireland. Halloween ( Samhain ) is an Irish celebration from ancient pagan times . Bambi just embraces the old traditions of Ireland 🇮🇪.
Hey there - I really love how softly you reacted to this, and your appreciation of the art. Maybe some context from Ireland. Others have pointed out that Halloween originates in Ireland as the pagan festival of Samhain - there are many other similar festivals celebrating similar things across the world, e.g the day of the dead in Mexico. But here in Ireland, we originated as a Celtic, pagan country, and so much of the symbolism Bambie has on their body and on the screen harks back to our pagan roots. This is Irish history and culture from ancient times brought into modernity. As for Eurovisiion and a family show....errrr...maybe watch the UK performance for something that would be less appropriate for children to watch than this. Kids loved this performance. I was in Malmo, in Eurovision, and this was probably the best received performance of all performances in the entire show. It was universally acclaimed for the show (not necessarily the song), but that performance was next level and something that hasn't been seen or done before on the Eurovision stage. And it also had something very rare about it - it worked both for the audience in the arena and for TV audiences. That's incredibly hard to achieve in Eurovision. It finished 6th out of the 37 (or 36 if you take NL DQ into account) countries in the competition, and as an Irishman I couldn't be prouder of this entry. There is a small minority in Ireland who bang on about this being satanism. It's nothing of the sort - it's art, it's portrayal of our history and Satan as a concept didn't even exist in pre-Christian Ireland. Paganism, and the treskelion symbol on Bambie's head in particular, has been part of Irish culture for thousands of years, and it can be found in Ireland carved in Newgrange from around 500BC. As with all historical symbols, they can have different interpretations. For this, one interpretation is the three realms of existence - life, death and rebirth. Another is the earth, water and the sky. All this to say that most if not all of the symbolism pre-dates Christianity in Ireland and therefore the concept of Satan as a being or entity or belief. But of course even pre-Christianity there were scary monsters lurking under your bed that you had to banish, as Bambie is doing in the end scene of their performance ;) All the best of wishes to you!!
Just to explain a little what Bambi THUG is representing with this piece. In irish celtic culture, before christianity, there ws Paganism, and the religion of Wicca was part of that, which celebrated nature, the seasons, and varius gods and dieties, including Pan, which was a hooved horned god, like the guy you see here. The Pentagram style symbol within the circle of candles is also a symbol of Wicca ,a form of nature based witchcraft, that has nothing to do with satan or satanism, as we dont believe in the existence of lucifer or hell, as that is a christian construct. Also, Bambi is a non-binary person, meaning they are neither male nor female, and use they/them pronouns. The bikini style pink, blue and white outfit they wear represents the transgender flag.
I'm Irish, while this Irish Girl! (woops, I see her as female) Bambi Thug are very talented and entertaining I don't think the majority of Irish would like to be represented as a dark occultic nation, this is truly giving Satan glory over Christian beliefs which has been the faith of the Irish people since Saint Patrick. You do infact give an accurate description of the roots of ancient Druid Celtic beliefs however that should be left in the past and buried.
@@martinmuldoon603 How did they come to represent Ireland if they majority dont want their representation? Is it something to do with the much fabled "silent majority"? Ireland is, thankfully, no longer a religious conservative state where people believe in boogeymen and sky daddies, or deny our heritage and history out of weird religious shame.
You said she reminds you of Maleficent. And while I don't think it's a direct reference I can't help but to think about it now. Her blue, pink, pride bikini reminded me of Auroras color changing dress the moment you said it.
The Pagan religion of Ireland, before Christianity came, was really the worship of Nature and the Universe. With the terrible state the World is now in, our ancient religion is attractive modern Irish people.
For all the ESC 2024 Reactions on this channel 😀

Yes we invented the holiday! Ireland has ancient pagan roots way before jesus, noah and the saints! Many still practice the older ways!
